The Woods - Whistler Location Accessibility
Do You Need a Car while staying at The Woods? This is based on personal opinion. Although there is a free shuttle readily available to transport you to the Blackcomb Base and Village, some may find it more convenient to bring their own vehicle.
Free Whistler Shuttle: You won't have to walk far to catch a ride on the free shuttle as it stops directly outside the complex. The free shuttle bus runs all year round and from 5:30am to 3:00am in the winter, frequenting every 6 minutes.
Ski Lifts: Even an Olympian would find the 10 to 15 minute walk to the lifts bothersome. Hitch a ride on the free shuttle and save your legs for skiing.
Equipment Rental & Ski School: Drop off your kids for lessons right at the Blackcomb Base, which is less than a 5 minute drive or shuttle ride away.
Spas: Head over to the Chateau Whistler Hotel at the Blackcomb Base or nearby Four Seasons Resort for a massage and other spa treatments.
Shops & Restaurants: Take a break from skiing and spend a day shopping and dining. The Blackcomb Base has a selection of shops & restaurants, however the more avid shopper will probably end up in the Village.
Grocery Store: Only a 5 minute shuttle ride separates you from all your favourite food staples at the local IGA grocery store in Marketplace Plaza.
Liquor Store: The basic ingredients to a good time can be found at the Cold Beer & Wine Store located at the Blackcomb Base. For those with specific needs & wants, there is a more robust selection at the BC Liquor store located in the Village.

Suitability of The Woods in Whistler
Families with Children: Enjoy a full day of skiing on the mountain, then bring your children back to a peaceful quiet environment away from the hustle and bustle of the Village. During the summe
r months, teens can exercise their independence by making the short walk to the lake on their own.
Couples: Groups of couples may find relief in splitting up the nightly rate of a unit at the Woods rather than paying individually for hotels or studios.
Active Seniors: Unwind in the quiet and peaceful environment. Senior golfers will be pleasantly surprised to know that The Woods is located directly alongside hole #1 at the Chateau Whistler Golf Course.
Non-Skiers/Riders: Guests who want to experience other aspects of Whistler can enjoy: The Valley Trail, Lost Lake, and snow-shoeing. However, these guests may find the 5-10 minute free shuttle to the Village inconvenient.
Young Adults & Nightcrawlers: Although the size may seem attractive to larger groups of people, the distance from the Village will most likely deter nightcrawlers. Guests looking to stumble back to their property during after hours are recommended to stay somewhere closer to the Village.
Disabled/Handicapped: Guests with mobility issues are recommended to stay somewhere closer to the village for easy access to the pedestrian walkway. The Woods was also not designed to accommodate wheelchairs.
