Whistler Accommodation Areas
Whistler is a large resort with a vast selection of accommodation in a variety of areas. Most nightly rental or hotel accommodation will be found either within walking distance to the lifts or on the free Village shuttle route. There are a few options further out though if you really want a peaceful getaway.

Whistler Village and Village North
If you want to be in the middle of the action, this is the place to be. Most accommodation will be found either along the pedestrian walkway or just across the street from it. Shops, restaurants and nightlife are on your doorstep and the lifts are just a short walk or super quick shuttle ride away.
If you love these conveniences then this area is for you. If you're seeking a quite night's sleep and a more secluded mountain feel you may want to look to other areas though.

Whistler Upper Village and Blackcomb Area
This area covers the Blackcomb Mountain Base and onto the mountain itself. Properties at the base are a quick 5 - 10 minute walk over to the main Village area and provide quick access to a small selection of shops and restaurants. Properties on the mountain are mostly ski in/out and nestled amoung the trees in a much more residential setting without the noise the Village provides.
If you're looking for a true mountain getaway with snow drifts and foliage as your view then this is the area for you.

Whistler Creekside
The Creekside area can be found approximately 5 - 7 minutes' drive south of the main Village area. Creekside has a small grocery store, liquor store and a few shops and restaurants so your basic necessities are covered. If you want a larger selection you'll want to head into the Village. Catch a bus into the Village but it's not a free shuttle so you'll want to keep change handy or buy a pre-paid pass.
On the bonus side though, Creekside has gondola access that takes you up Whistler Mountain and lift lines are usually much shorter than in the Village.

Blueberry Hill
Blueberry Hill is a well-to-do residential area of Whistler with a mix of nightly rental properties, long-term rentals and homes. Some of Whistler's most dramatic and expensive real estate can be found in this area, just a short two minute drive from the Village.
If you have a vehicle or don't mind a short bus ride, this can be a nice quiet area to stay. However, if you like to make short trips out by foot to pick up groceries or get a meal at a restaurant you may find staying in Blueberry Hill inconvenient.
Nicklaus North
Nicklaus North is a popular place to stay for golfers. This area is named after the golf course it surrounds. The golf course is name after its famous designer, Jack ("The Golden Bear") Nicklaus.
You won't find hotels in this area, but there are some chalets and townhomes for rent.
This area features one restaurant at the Nicklaus North clubhouse but it's just a short 5 minute drive, taxi or bus ride into the Village for a much larger selection.

Alpine Meadows, Whistler Cay Heights, Brio, Nesters, Bayshores, Alta Vista, Emerald Estates and White Gold
These areas are all mostly long-term residential areas and it is rare to find a nightly rental property located in one of them, but some do exist. If you don't mind being anywhere from a 5 - 15 minute drive from the Village and lifts and appreciate a more local feel then you'd likely enjoy staying in one of these areas. Because these areas are a bit further from the amenities of the Village you're likely going to pay less for a rental.
