Apex Mountain Accommodation & Money Saving Tips
When you visit Apex Ski Resort near Penticton, BC, you need to pay for accommodation, equipment rental/purchase, lift tickets, meals and more. As one of the top ski resorts in BC, make sure you've research any or all ski packages available. This is a fantastic spot for a winter vacation in BC, but costs can add up quickly if you don't do your homework to find the best deals.
Lucky for you, not only does alluraDirect.com offer owner-direct vacation rentals at better values than hotels but we've put our heads together to compile a list of money-saving activities and solutions.
Read on and find out how you can have a great vacation and avoid returning home to mac and cheese for the rest of the month!
1. Book Apex accommodation as early as possible.
Don't wait until the last minute to find a place to stay. The best deals are usually snapped up early; sometimes as soon as April for next winter's vacation! Start doing your research for Apex rentals as soon as you know when you're going and have booked your flights. You'll have more options to choose from and have access to the best rates.
Special Date Tip: Try to avoid the holiday season (just before Christmas to just after New Years). This is the busiest time of year for any ski resort and high demand creates higher prices for everything from lodging to lift tickets.
2. Book one larger Apex rental property instead of multiple hotel rooms.
If you've got a group larger than what fits comfortably in a standard hotel room, you're better off looking at Apex rentals for condos or chalets. A three bedroom chalet is almost always cheaper than three hotel rooms. It will also sleep the same number of people in at least the same amount of space.
Alternatively, if you're a couple or a small group, renting owner-direct is often cheaper as rental management fees and often hotel taxes are avoided.
3. Get acquainted with the Apex mountain - for free!
Apex Mountain Resort offers free daily Mountain Orientation Tours. Guests interested in joining one of these tours should meet in front of the Fresh Tracks Cafe at 10am or 1:15 pm.
4. Lose the boots and slip on some ice skates.
Of course you came to Apex Resort for the skiing/riding but why not take an evening and try out some ice skating at the Adventure Skating Loop? The loop is 1 km long, snakes through the trees and is lit until 11pm. Other than ice skate rentals, this is a free activity and one that shouldn't be missed. The resort even hosts free skating parties which include complimentary hot chocolate and a bonfire on occassion.
5. Ski under the stars for a fraction of the day rate!
In the 2008/09 season only $7.50 got you friday night lift access from 4-9pm. Not visiting on a friday? That's okay, because it's still only $15 for night skiing on Saturdays and Holidays. Not visiting then either? Sorry, night skiing is a Friday/Saturday/Holiday activity only. Maybe you'll just have to extend your trip a little!
