The Gables Condo Unit #5

The Gables is one of Whistler’s only true ski-in/ski-out residences to both Whistler & Blackcomb mountains. Located adjacent to the village, the Gables is situated in a forest that is literally a 2min walk to either Whistler Mountain or Blackcomb Mountain, Whistler Village, the Chateau Whistler Golf Course & Lost Lake Park & trails. In the summer you can swim in Lost Lake and hang out at the beach.

The Gables unit #5 is a main floor, newly renovated unit, with a large patio and greenspace steps away from all the action, but at the same time due to the privacy of the forest and the Fitszimmons River that runs next to the Gables, it is sheltered from all noise and sound which gives it a very private feeling. Mountain Bikers welcome!

5 The Gables - perfect accommodation.

Fabulous property! We simply couldn’t have asked for better. It was the best equipped accommodation that we have every stayed in. Location was simply perfect, surroundings beautiful and owners wonderfully helpful and quick to respond to queries. The wi-fi was super fast (a massive bonus with two teenagers). I couldn’t recommend this highly enough.

A+ everything except for WIFI

The Gables is the absolute best location for staying in Whistler. A two minute walk to the left is the Upper Village where the Blackcomb lift and Merlin's Pub is located. Then about 5 mins to the right is the Village stroll where the Whistler Mountain lifts are located, along with every shop, restaurant, bar, etc. is located. We are so happy that we found this perfect rental because without it, we have not ventured out to the other lifts/areas.

The owners were very accommodating and let us check out a bit late AND keep our luggage at the rental until our shuttle came to pick us up in the afternoon.

The only downside to the location was the wi-fi. On our first night, I called the owner and let him know that the internet was not working. He instructed me to unplug the router and plug it back in - problem fixed. But once it was connected it was SO slow. We could barely load a single webpage without waiting ten minutes. This was rather disappointing given that we were visiting from Hawaii and our cellphones had no service. We were really relying on good wifi and didnt think it would be an issue because the owner let us know that he pays for super fast connections. The plus side is that most of Whistler Village has free wifi that we connected to while we were in restaurants/shops.

I would definitely recommend staying here and hope that it is available next time I visit :)

Comfortable and great location

We had a great time and enjoyed the short walk to the village. The unit was clean and comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The only change I would suggest would be an 11:00 checkout rather than 10:00. It was a bit of a scramble to get out in time.

Guest Account Termination The Owner or their Contact reserve the right to request permanent Guest account inactivation from this web sites technical administrators in the event of one or more of the following Guest actions: intentional property policy violation causing material damage or fines, Guest misrepresentation and/or fraud, intentionally defacing or damaging public or private property, breaking laws and bylaws, theft, public indecency, harassment, causing bodily or emotional harm & disturbing the peace after repetitive warnings. Guests will be notified by email of account termination. Guests may choose to appeal their account termination. Ineligible Guests Reservation Reversal The Owner or their Contact reserves the right to cancel reservations made by, and refuse business to: Guests who do not meet the policies published in this property's Policies Table at the time of booking and past Guests known to have : intentionally violated rental property policies, damaged and/or defaced rental properties through intentionally destructive and/or negligent behavior, engaged in theft, broken local bylaws and laws, committed fraud or who misrepresented themselves, and Guests who have caused bodily or emotional harm to any third parties. Complaints Concerning Property Report all property complaints or obvious damage caused by previous Guests to us immediately, by phone and by email as they become evident. Failure to notify us of property-related problems while in the property and as they become evident, will forfeit any rights or claims against us regarding property condition after your departure.
Excessive Noise Strata Bylaws Apply. Guests are responsible. Quiet hours are 11:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.
Housekeeping Provided before arrival and after departure. Additional housekeeping may be available on request at your expense.

Unit #5 is a ground floor 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom newly renovated unit with wood fire place, modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and granite counters and modern bathrooms. The master bedroom contains a comfortable queen size bed with ensuite bathroom, with guest bedroom containing a comfortable Murphy double bed plus a  double bed pull-out sofa in  the linving room  to accommodate up to 6 guests. The unit includes 2 flatscreen televisions, cable and free internet services, all cookeware and dishes needed as well as plenty of storage for sporting equipment.

About Us

The Gables Unit #5 is owned by a Canadian family with one of the members living and working on site. The Champoux family have been working all their lives in the Ski & Snowboard Industry owning several ski shops and ski schools. They are an adventurous family that love skiing, snowboarding, golfing, sailing, mountain biking & surfing.
