Welcome to The Stellar J, our totally unique and special Silver Star vacation rental chalet! The Stellar J is set in amoungst the towering, snow-laden evergreens of the cabin colony, secluded, but only a very short kick and glide from the village center. Purchased and completely renovated and updated in 2011, the J consumates all that a special ski vacation should offer.... a true cki chalet experience, with all of the modern conveniences of a state-of-the-art facility.
Set in the heart of the first cabins of the mountain, the location of the Stellar J is without a doubt one of the finest on the mountain. 2 minutes walk through the quiet seclusion, and you open up onto the bustle of the center of the village, and all this quaint setting offers. Turn right at the bottom of the hill, and 5 minutes walk takes you to Tube-Town, the skating pond, nightly bonfires and hot chocholate.
With such a central location, the J is truly ski in/ski out, with absolutely no need for your car or transport once you arrive. The cabin is complete with a private hot tub, styeps outside on the private deck. A heated entry way keeps all wet gear out of the cabin, and provides a fantastic beginning and ending to your snow day.

This is our third stay at Stella J, we consider it our Canadian home away from home. The location is absolutely gorgeous set in trees away from the road. A 6 person private hot tub is located just steps from the front door, on the private deck. A BBQ is also located there for your ease and enjoyment. Professional daily hot tub maintenience ensures a quality, healthy tub experience. All guests are requested to shower prior to using the hot tub, as extra charges will ensue for additional hot tub cleaning.
Professional house keeping ensures that the Stellar J is ready for your arrival, with clean fresh linens and towels, as well as a sparkling clean cabin itself. For stays longer than 5 days a mid-visit change of towels is provided. For stays longer than 9 days, a complete change of bed linen and a mini-clean is also provided.
The location of the Stellar J is arguably the finest on the mountain. Where else can you find this level of privacy, while having all of the amenities of the Village of Silver Star literally 1-5 minutes walk away? Walking distance to the village center is 2 minutes, Brewer's Pond for skating 4-5, with the same for Tube Town. Ski-in access is off of the Comet 6-pack, Green, or Alpine Meadows chairs, with a small ski-way literally right in front of the cabin. Ski-out can be through the village to the Comet or Green chairs, or with a very short walk the Alpine Meadows chair or down to the Silver Queen chair.
Part of the special ambiance of The Stellar J is the fact that the cabin itself is found mid-way between Pinnacles Lane and Silver Lode Lane. A short 25 yd (25 M) walk from either access road brings you to the front door. Parking is in Parking Lot A off of Silver Lode Lane. At certain times, usually due to heavy snowfall, the walk in to the cabin might be somewhat challenging for those with mobility difficulties (elderly or very young).
Once you are up at the mountain, the need for your vehicle should be gone. The only time you should have to start it is for your trip home (and we hope you have to remove a large blanket of snow too!).

The following are some of the important things we would like you to consider before you decide to rent, and once you arrive at the Stellar J.
1. The Stellar J is a family oriented rental. We require that the principal renter(s) be a minimum of 25 years old. The J is advertised as a 6 person rental, however it will sleep 8 in a pinch (see 'Sleeping Areas'). The floor plan, square footage, and single bathroom dictate that we have to limit the number of full sized bodies to 6. Exceptions might be made at the owners discretion.
2. Hot tub use. All bathers must shower prior to using. Plastic cups and glasses are provided... NO glass in or near the tub. Our hot tub maintence checks the tub daily. Excessive cleaning costs due to improper use will result in additional charges.
3. Excessive Noise will be grounds for eviction. Although the Stellar J is a private location, we have neighbors that we like and respect.
4. Although automatic bookings and payment are possible through Alluradirect, NO reservation will be considered confirmed until contact has been made by the owner or agent with the guest via email or phone to assess the suitabliity match of the property and the guest(s).

|Cancellations Made by Guests||Deposit payments are non-refundable. We will refund the remainder of your reservation if we can replace your booking. Refunds are based on the re-booked rate & the number of nights re-booked. All cancellation refunds are subject to a 4% cancellation fee.|

Guests will be notified by email of account termination. Guests may choose to appeal their account termination. Guests may be given the chance to reconcile with the Owner as a condition of preserving or reversing their account status. Account termination prevents the Guest from booking this or any other property that uses the same web site|
|Guest Stay Contract|
|Ineligible Guests Reservation Reversal||The Owner or their Contact reserves the right to cancel reservations made by, and refuse business to: Guests who do not meet the policies published in this property's Policies Table at the time of booking and past Guests known to have : intentionally violated rental property policies, damaged and/or defaced rental properties through intentionally destructive and/or negligent behavior, engaged in theft, broken local bylaws and laws, committed fraud or who misrepresented themselves, and Guests who have caused bodily or emotional harm to any third parties. Guests will be issued a refund by personal cheque. Refunds will be adjusted for any payment processing expenses|
|Late Reservation Payments||If dates are available, late reservations are no problem. If within 45 days of the date of rental, full payment plus a refundable damage deposit will be collected at the time of reservation.|
|Privacy||The Owner, their booking Contact and this web sites technical administrators agree to not sell, refer, rent or divulge to any third parties the names or personal information of their Guests without prior written consent from the Guests, except under force of law, or for law enforcement purposes relating to policy and property violation. The Owner and their booking Contact also agree to not use Guest personal information for any reason other than its original intended purpose without written consent from the Guests. |Website Service Fee||Website Service Fees are non-refundable, with the exception to reservations made before March 15, 2020. If there is an officially mandated COVID travel restriction being imposed by the countries where the property and/or guest is located, website service fees may be usable as a credit. To claim this credit review, the restriction must be in place up to 14 days prior to your rental arrival date. All refunds will be processed in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and any currency exchange difference will not be covered. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org between 1-14 days before your cancelled arrival date to have reviewed. Flight cancellations alone will not be approved, a copy of the official Government issued restriction will be required.|

|Complaints Concerning Property||Report all property complaints or obvious damage caused by previous Guests to us immediately, by phone and by email as they become evident. Serious problems should be reported with supporting photographs. We will make our best efforts to rectify problems within 24 hours of notification. Failure to notify us of property-related problems while in the property and as they become evident, will forfeit any rights or claims against us regarding property condition after your departure.|
|COVID Contact Tracing Requirements||The property owner must be able to produce a list of guests who have occupied their rentals for contact tracing protocols in the event of an outbreak. The guest must provide names of whop will be occupying the rental property during their rental agreement.|
|COVID Maximum Guest Limitation||The number of people is limited to the capacity of the space, plus a maximum of five visitors at any given time. Large gatherings will be removed from the premises and no refund will be provided.|
|Excessive Noise||Excessive noise will be grounds for eviction. We have neighbors that we like and respect, and we ask all of our guests to adhere to a policy of no noise outside later than 10 pm.|
|Housekeeping||House keeping is provided free of charge. Longer stays will be provided with a mid-term freshening of the cabin, and a change of linens and towels. Dishes must be in the dishwasher (started) and all other dishes done prior to your leaving. An additional $50 charge will result if there are dirty dishes left. |Liability||We accept no liability expressed or implied by your use of the Stellar J. This includes but is not specific to snow or ice falling off the roof or by use of the hot tub.|
|Locking Door||Locking and unlocking of the front door is via the unique code provided. The door MUST be locked when you leave.|

|Property Damage||Although no damage deposit will be collected prior to arrival, guests will be held responsible for the full amount of any damage caused by themselves or any of their guests. Any damage noted upon your arrival should be brought to our attention immediately. As well, we would appreciate being notified of any damage occurring during your stay as soon as possible.|

You enter the Stellar J through a 6' x 8' heated porch designed to keep your wet things out of the living area. Benches, shelves and hooks line the porch which makes putting on and taking off ski/board gear a breeze. Off of the enclosed porch is the hot tub... just steps from the front door. Once through the entry porch, an open concept main floor houses kitchen, dining and living room, with private 3 piece bath in the corner. At the head of the stairs is located the 'loft' bed, with the master queen bedroom to the right, and the double bed room to the left. Large windows provide wonderful natural light, and tranquil views into the surrounding forest.

Kitchen is equiped with all of the amenities of home, including stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave. Matching dishes, glassware, silverware, knives & utensils, and pots & pans, complement the unique recycled and totally renovated wooden kitchen countertops. The original sink from the 1950's adds a classic charm. Added accessories include coffee maker, popcorn maker, toaster oven, 4 slice toaster, crockpot, blender, and many others. Spices and basic staples such as sugar, salt and pepper are provided. Basic kitchen accessories such as tin-foil, Saran wrap, ziplocks, etc are there for your use. Tupperware for storing leftovers are plentiful. Our goal is to make the kitchen in the Stellar J as convienent as is yours at home!
Two leather recliners and a leather double sofabed surround the thermostatically controlled gas fireplace to create a cozy ambiance, while the 43" flat screen TV with cable and Blu-ray/DVD capability complement the entertainment quotient. A small library of books and DVD's, as well as a Sony sound system with Ipod dock, and flexibility to play CD's, other peripherals, or Am/Fm comprise the sound system. Large windows let in ample light while allowing for enjoyment of the surrounding forest. Full blinds allow for complete privacy at your choosing.
A solid oak 2 leaf table, with matching oak chairs, is able to seat 8-9 comfortably, or compact to seat 3-5, providing added room space. Again, all new matching dishes and flatware enhance your dining pleasure.
The Stellar J is the culmination of many years of enjoyment of Silver Star Mountain Resort by our family of 7. Home for us is in the Fraser Valley of BC, and as such we have been fortunate to ski and ride most of the mountains of BC and the Alberta Rockies, as well as many hills in the US Pacific Northwest and Rocky Mountains. Without a doubt, Silver Star is our favorite! With 3 skiers, and 4 boarders, Silver Star has terrain and difficulty that has suited us throughout our development as a ski/boarding family. For most of the last 20 years we have taken our winter vacation here, and as such we have stayed in many different locations. In 2010 we were fortunate enough to be able to purchase the Stellar J from the original owners... almost 50 years in the same family! The last 6 months of 2010 were spent renovating this timeless wonder to what we think is one of the true gems of Silver Star. Hopefully you will agree with us that the Stellar J is a compilation of all of the finest of what we have enjoyed in on-mountain lodging.
