We have stayed in many different places in Big White in the past and this is definitely the nicest! Location is great, the place is beautiful (as you can tell by the pictures) and it is very well stocked. We were pleasantly surprised to find a play pen, high chair and children's plates/bowls/utensils in the kitchen so we will not need to pack these things next time! Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen as well as extensive toiletries and tons of board games, video games and DVD's/blu rays for the theatre! View is great and if you walk out the back door and go a couple minutes up Happy Valley trail the view is phenomenal. Would definitely love to stay here again!

Great location for ski in from the village center or ski out to the Happy Valley gondola. Little harder for older adults to walk to and from the Edge unit as it is located on a pretty steep hill.

Kitchen is well stocked, living areas had more than enough space for our group of 13. Extra fridge in the 2nd floor wine room was great for overflow groceries that didnâ??t fit in the kitchen fridge. Elevator was a huge convenience when lugging all the bags and groceries up, as well as taking the garbage and recycling down to the garage.

Front bedrooms on 2nd floor over the garage get pretty cold, but portable heaters were provided. Would have been nice to have a light on the back porch when grilling or to leave on when we return at night. We had to use a flashlight to grill.

Overall best Edge unit we have stayed in (stayed in a smaller unit before). We also had the perfect view of the Happy Valley New Yearâ??s Eve fireworks straight out the front living room picture windows!

Property was excellent for our large group (5 families - 8 adults and 4 kids). The elevator was perfect for hauling up all of the supplies. Ski-in Ski-out access was great.

Contemporary furniture was more decorative than comfy but that is the design of the house. Kitchen had plenty of supplies. Pool table area was a bit disappointing with the lack of lighting and functional pool ques.

Overall I would recommended if you are looking for contemporary accommodations.

We loved staying at the Edge - modern property, with great communal area to entertain. Well stocked kitchen, roomy bedrooms and a media room that the kids loved to hang out in. Great proximity to gondola and village and ski in/ ski out. I would have rated this property as 5 stars if it hadn't been for 2 issues:

1. fuse blew continuously on lower floor which meant the bedroom and one of the bunk rooms was super cold over night. I think this was mentioned by an earlier guest so was surprised the problem had not been solved by our stay

2. TV in media room - this worked well for 3 days until we were unable to get a signal - so no media room TV for the remaining trip. We called to get someone out to fix but they did not arrive.

Great Location, Interesting Design

The contemporary architecture of The Edge is eye catching. We've skied by it for years and finally booked a larger unit for our recent trip. The location is great with easy ski-in / ski-out access. Getting to Happy Valley or the Village is convenient via the Gondola.

The unit has lots of space and was standalone and quiet. It spans 4 floors, but there is a small service elevator for bringing in (or packing out) supplies. Overall, it's a great unit with some nice features: lots of light and fantastic views, a well equipped kitchen, a comfortable media room for watching TV (in our case the Olympics), a game room with pool table, boot/glove dryers in basement, and a heated garage.

The unit and furnishings are showing some wear, however, and the design did have some features that were puzzling. For example, the floor to ceiling waterfall feature in the living room is broken and has not worked for some time. The main fireplace and one of the showers were not working on arrival (both of these were fixed during our stay). The hot tub is located on the upper floor outside of the master - not ideal for larger group traffic flow. The Kitchen garbage container is located around the corner from the island, rather than under counter near the sink - the marks in the sheet rock give away it's usual location! The huge glass windows are dramatic but don't have enough supporting wall heat, so anywhere near that wall is relatively cold. The lighting is spotty - some lights (above the range) were missing, and others are just plain inadequate (above the pool table).

Still a great (albeit relatively expensive) rental for our use. With some TLC and a few design tweaks it could be stellar.

Hello! I would like to say we had a great time and the chalet met 99 percent of our expectations. It was clean and warm, the location was ideal for ski in/out, and you provided all the supplies needed for us to maintain itâ??s cleanliness. The heated garage and glove/hat dryer were also a great unexpected feature.

The responsiveness of the property manager when we had a concern about the shower was also greatly appreciated; though we all had to use the shower in the master bedroom (except for the one who was in the secondary master bedroom)

Some feedback Iâ??d like to give is, the main room could really use a TV. We were a little jealous to see that our Edge neighbors had a one in their main room. There also wasnâ??t enough comfortable seating in that room as there was only enough space for two people out of seven to lay down on a couch. We ended up having to push the red chairs together, which worked for a couple of us who arenâ??t that tall. We were also surprised that that that the seats in the entertainment room did not recline, so we didnâ??t spend any time in there.

But all in all, we loved our stay and would definitely return to an Edge chalet that has a TV in the main room. Thanks and best regards, Mehran

My only complaint would have been that the place could have been a little cleaner upon check in. Toilet paper on the ground in washrooms and empty beer bottles.. not a big deal. other than that it was great and I would rent this place again. Cheers.

Big White Winter Rally 2016

The Edge was a great venue for our weekend. We were up for the Big White Rally. The snow was great, access to the ski hill and all the resort amenities was easy and quick to get to. We barely had to use our vehicle once we were there. All the staff at the resort were friendly and helpful. We were there in pre season so most of the shops closed early and make sure to gas up before you head up to the resort as there are no gas stations once you leave Kelowna.

Great beautiful property to stay in, easy access to the village from the gondola, the back entrance was alongside the Happy Valley way trail . Kids as well as adults really had a great time here. Kids enjoyed the hillside along the house, sliding down till dark. My first experience in Big White and after a lot of research looking for a place to stay in, we made the right choice! Can't wait to come back.

What a perfect spot for access by car and true ski in ski out from the side of the run. Luxurious beds and rooms. The Pool table and Theater room were a hit. Both our Canadian and Australian families had a great ski holiday together.

The Hot Tub was often only warm, may only need some adjustment as we didn't try to alter it. A second couch in the Living area would be nice for a large group if more than one or two want to stretch out at lunch time or after a days ski. We are already planning the next stay at the Edge.

The Edge was spectacular. The house was in immaculate condition for our arrival and was appointed beautifully with a warm and inviting main living area. The owners and managers were responsive to all of our questions in advance of booking and during our stay and dealt with the limited issues that we had in a timeframe that was as quick as could reasonably be expected. The house lives up 100% to its ski-in/ski-out label.

On this trip, we were 3 couples traveling without kids and would gladly rent this home again for a future ski vacation. Additionally, the home's additional bunk rooms (we didn't use them) and location in Happy Valley on the mountain have us looking forward to the day when we return with children for a two or three family ski trip!

Many of the townhomes and stand-alone Chalets in the complex have great views of the Monashee Mountains and Happy Valley. Gaze at the mountain views and enjoy the weekend fireworks shows from your Chalet! Happy Valley hosts several outdoor features such as ice skating, tubing, snowshoe trails, ice climbing, sleigh rides, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, restaurants, bar, cafeteria and Gondola access to the Village.
