We've stayed at a lot of ski rental places, and this was one of the best. Being slightly out of the village centre made it slightly cheaper. Because we were right at the base of the gondola, it was mere steeps to load and be at the village centre within minutes. Also, directly beside the gondola is the Moose Lounge; a great place for kids (ours are teens), a drink, pub style snacks and live music. So easy to pop over after skiing with or without the kids.
The property itself has a gym and a games room which booth our teens enjoyed the freedom of using. The suite even had all the ping pong paddles, pool cues, air hockey pucks etc. The suite had everything you could possibly need. Things like all sized frying pans, stocked fully with dish clothes, hand towels, paper towel, kleenex etc. Lots of bath towels.
The living room bay window made you feel you were right in the snow, and there's a view of the gondola and evening sun in the hot tub which we liked. The hot tub was very clean. Only drawback, the lid is incredibly hard to close as it sinks down between the tub and the wall. Perhaps a ledge or 2x4 for it to rest on slightly higher so it doesn't take two people to close.
My husband also really enjoyed the steam shower. Parking was underground with trolly's right there to haul up our stuff. Every detail was there including a fan in the den (no window) which got very warm at night for our teens. Thank you for a great week!!View Full Review
Good spot in Happy Valley

We were happy with this unit - it is well stocked and in good condition. The kitchen is nicely outfitted and the beds are very comfortable with warm comforters, etc. We stayed in the unit last year and it looks like a few upgrades were made in the interim such as a new hot tub and large TV / video game system added to the 2nd bedroom. We booked the unit again as we like the location a lot - it is a true ski in / ski out and it's very convenient to get from the ski locker to the back building entrance and ski down to the gondola. The kitchen is great with a gas stove and good oven, and the owners have stocked it with quality pots, pans, knives, etc.
I didn't rate the development 5 stars as there is no visitor parking on site which is inconvenient. We had to take two cars this time and had to park one down the road in the Happy Valley day parking. Other downside is that the balcony to the unit is directly above the main building entrance, so if you're sitting in the hot tub, there is no view and often there's people parked below you, coming in / out, etc. The unit front door is also directly across from the elevator on the 2nd floor - if you're a light sleeper, you do hear people going in and out.
We would recommend the unit and location regardless as the fit and finish is very nice and we didn't lack for anything in the unit itself. We love Big White and would recommend this property.View Full Review
