Second year in a row that we have gone out for thanksgiving (think previous review was under another username). This is a great house with more than enough room for all of us. The second year we were there we ended up being much more lazy and spent some time watching movies and relaxing in the lounge. Enough room for all of us to relax for the one morning. Still a great selection of pots and pans for cooking a big thanksgiving meal.

We were lucky enough that there was some big rains before we were out there and the fire ban was over so we could enjoy a fire. Just love this house and looking forward to many future adventures out there.

Great Family Vacation Spot

Our family rented the Bear Paw Lodge over the Christmas holidays and very much enjoyed our time. The house was well equipped, clean, and comfortable for all 9 of us. Jim Hewlett was very helpful and quick to respond with any questions I had before our arrival. The process was very smooth and the on location property manager, Dan, was happy to answer any questions we had after arrival. The location of the lodge was perfect for lots of snowshoeing, hiking, and jogging trails. It is about 40 minutes away from Kicking Horse ski hill, which made Christmas Eve skiing possible. The hot tub is a great amenity to the lodge with a beautiful view of the mountains. Dan also provided us with the tools to chop down our own Christmas tree! I would highly recommend the lodge to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway with friends or family.

Private vacation home and large grounds of 6 acres. All amenities available for our quests. All with modern facilities.

An ideal and luxurious mountain retreat for your Summer or Winter vacation, you can be sure of a very comfortable stay , with hardwood floors, kitchen with modern stainless steel appliances and new décor throughout. All rooms are comfortably furnished boasting great mountain views, bedrooms are newly furnished with comfortable beds, linens and duvets. The Kitchen and Breakfast Bar will seat 10 people at meal times. Other features include Satillite TV & DVDs in most rooms, dial-up internet connection, large outdoor deck with patio furniture, superb 6 person hot tub and a large garden with fire-pit.

Fresh bathroom towels will be provided twice per week and bed linen changed once per week. Full washing and drying facilities are provided for our guests to use.

Golden is a small friendly town which caters for most things that you are likely to need including Grocery Stores, Pharmacy, Clothing & Leisure, Liquor stores, a selection of good restaurants and a superb Bakery (don't miss the homemade Chilli or Soup of the day).

Any bookings made using our small group special 20% discount are for a maximum of 5 people.  Prices will be charged at our regular rate if numbers are increased.

Guest Account Termination The Owner or their Contact reserve the right to request permanent Guest account inactivation from this web sites technical administrators in the event of one or more of the following Guest actions: intentional property policy violation causing material damage or fines, Guest misrepresentation and/or fraud, intentionally defacing or damaging public or private property, breaking laws and bylaws, theft, public indecency, harassment, causing bodily or emotional harm & disturbing the peace after repetitive warnings. Guests will be notified by email of account termination. Guests may choose to appeal their account termination. Guests may be given the chance to reconcile with the Owner as a condition of preserving or reversing their account status. Account termination prevents the Guest from booking this or any other property that uses the same web site

Property Sale All rentals will be honered.
Reservation Changes Reservations can be changed based on our cancellation policies.
Website Service Fee Website Service Fees are non-refundable, with the exception to reservations made before March 15, 2020. If there is an officially mandated COVID travel restriction being imposed by the countries where the property and/or guest is located, website service fees may be usable as a credit. To claim this credit review, the restriction must be in place up to 14 days prior to your rental arrival date. All refunds will be processed in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and any currency exchange difference will not be covered. Please contact between 1-14 days before your cancelled arrival date to have reviewed. Flight cancellations alone will not be approved, a copy of the official Government issued restriction will be required.

Complaints Concerning Property Report all property complaints or obvious damage caused by previous Guests to us immediately, by phone and by email as they become evident. Serious problems should be reported with supporting photographs. We will make our best efforts to rectify problems within 24 hours of notification. Failure to notify us of property-related problems while in the property and as they become evident, will forfeit any rights or claims against us regarding property condition after your departure.
COVID Contact Tracing Requirements The property owner must be able to produce a list of guests who have occupied their rentals for contact tracing protocols in the event of an outbreak. The guest must provide names of whop will be occupying the rental property during their rental agreement.
COVID Maximum Guest Limitation The number of people is limited to the capacity of the space, plus a maximum of five visitors at any given time. Large gatherings will be removed from the premises and no refund will be provided.
Excessive Cleaning Costs Guest is responsible for paying excessive cleaning costs stemming from extraordinary cleaning above the standard typical Guest stay. Cleaning associated with defacing the property, or above the standard fees is considered property damage.
Excessive Noise No excessive noise please, but we still expect you to have a great time. Normal conversation and laughing pitch is permitted. Screaming, swearing, yelling, etc are not. Police will be called in the avent of excessive disturbance.
Garbage Removal We have on-site recycling bins. We encourage recycling (available at tip). NEVER LEAVE GARBAGE OUTDSIDE AS IT WILL ATTRACT BEARS.

Liability The Guest doing the booking is responsible and liable for all damages for ensuring that these policies are respected and adhered to. Guest releases property owners from liability for theft or injury while in transit to the property, in the property,or on resort lands
Locking Door Normal Yale & Dead Bolt. Housekeeper has spare keys. All keys must be signed for on arrival & departure. Lost keys could result in charges to change the locks
Maintenance Emergencies On site Housekeeper. Other phone numbers & contacts will be available at the house
Maximum Sleeping Capacity 10. Unless by prior arrangment.
Missing Items Guests will assume costs of replacing items that are missing upon the Guest departure. Replacement of broken items such as cups and glasses will be excepted,if notified to housekeeper.
Parking & Ticketing Large parking area. Heavy snowfall may result in digging out in the mornings.
Property Damage Property damage of common or private property includes; physical damage, excessive cleaning, defacing property,excessive noise, littering, vandalisum, theft, miss-treatment, soiling & miss-use. Guest agrees to pay up to $500 CAD for all private or common property damage caused by the Guest themselves, or a member of their party. Guests may also be evicted.Refunds will not be issued in the event of eviction. Owner reserves the right to request Guest account inactivation.

Terms of Eviction More than one compaint about unsociable behaviour will result in eviction of the entire party.

Guarantees Policies

Reservation Guarantee If our property is damaged & we cannot fulfill your reservation, you will be given the option to either cancel your reservation with a 100% refund, or be moved to a comparable property. Owners will assume additional accommodation-related relocation costs up to $1000 CAD. If a comparable property is not available, the booking will be cancelled with a full refund.

Property Details

Very spacious 2128 square ft 4 bedroom house set on 5.5 acres. The bedrooms are all large and will comfortably accomodate 10 people with a good selection of double and single beds which can be swapped around to suit different group combinations, therefore can easily cater for two families at once. One full bathroom on the main floor and 1 full bathroom upstairs. The Kitchen, Dining room and Living room all link into each other to create a very sociable space with French doors leading on to the elevated deck which has outside lighting for the BBQ & Hot tub. Extensively and immaculatelyfurnished throughout with luxurious bedding and modern appliances.
