Second year in a row that we have gone out for thanksgiving (think previous review was under another username). This is a great house with more than enough room for all of us. The second year we were there we ended up being much more lazy and spent some time watching movies and relaxing in the lounge. Enough room for all of us to relax for the one morning. Still a great selection of pots and pans for cooking a big thanksgiving meal.
We were lucky enough that there was some big rains before we were out there and the fire ban was over so we could enjoy a fire. Just love this house and looking forward to many future adventures out there.

Our family rented the Bear Paw Lodge over the Christmas holidays and very much enjoyed our time. The house was well equipped, clean, and comfortable for all 9 of us. Jim Hewlett was very helpful and quick to respond with any questions I had before our arrival. The process was very smooth and the on location property manager, Dan, was happy to answer any questions we had after arrival. The location of the lodge was perfect for lots of snowshoeing, hiking, and jogging trails. It is about 40 minutes away from Kicking Horse ski hill, which made Christmas Eve skiing possible. The hot tub is a great amenity to the lodge with a beautiful view of the mountains. Dan also provided us with the tools to chop down our own Christmas tree! I would highly recommend the lodge to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway with friends or family.

For a second year in a row we have now been to stay for a long weekend in October. It is the same group of us that go back every year and we just love this house. It sleeps 10 people comfortably without any issues, but so far have only had 7 of us stay at one time. Space wise the only time it gets crowded is when we all insist on eating aroud the dining room table instead of using the kitchen island too.
The house is immaculate and very well taken care of. Every cooking utensil or pan you may need is on hand. Most helpful when we cook our big Sunday dinner. The fire pit outside is well maintained and the supply of ready to burn wood is unending. With the river just down the road for a walk in the afternoon and hot tub on the deck, you are covered for any activity you may need. Also there is a large BBQ on the deck should you wish to use that. This is our favorite retreat and can see how it would be a very attractive option if you ski as it is so close to Kicking Horse. Great for families with kids or just a group of friends enjoying time together.
There is a gentleman named Dan who stays in the basement suite and looks after the house. If we have ever had any questions he has been available for us and is really friendly. Fill of great information on the area and knowledge of what you can if you haven't been to Golden before. Really lovely guy and catching up with him every year has been great too.
Value for money this is a clear winner. Hope to keep coming back fro years to come.

We plan every year on August Long weekend a getaway for some friends and golf! This year we chose Golden B.C as our destination. When we were looking through the vacation rentals we stumbled upon The Bear Paw Lodge and fell in love. Not only is the property absolutely stunning, the house is filled with everything you could possibly need. We luckily got to meet the property owners and they were friendly and welcoming. The property keeper Dan was also amazing. We would most definitely come back and have already talked about making this our yearly vacation spot. Whether you're a group of friends or family, this place is the place to be! Thank you to the Hewlett family for sharing your beautiful home.
