1 Bedroom Glacier's Reach Townhouse

Good Location

We had a great long skiing weekend in February. The condo was clean and kitchen well equipped. For our family of four, it was a bit tight, but we still managed well. A combination lock would have made it easier especially for our kids to come and go when they wanted. Good, quiet location and the shuttle bus service is great. The stop is just on the other side of the street.

Sandy and John are really responsive and helpful hosts with a great apartment in a great location, close to Marketplace and all of the shopping options it has to offer and directly across the street from the village shuttle. I cannot recommend their place highly enough.

This condo was quite nice, but through an oversight it had not been cleaned before we arrived. Thank goodness the cleaner's closet was unlocked, so we had access to sheets and towels. The owner was very apologetic and refunded a portion of the rental cost. I have no doubt such an oversight will not recur in the future.

The number 4 shuttlebus stop was just across the street; it was nice to be able to get to the slopes in our ski boots so we didn't have to find somewhere to change. Check-in was a bit complicated because the renter has to go first to Whistler Concierge Service in the village to get keys and a parking pass. All in all, it was a pleasant place to stay.

My wife and I spent eight nights here and were very pleased. The condo is well equipped and nice and clean. Great location directly across from Market Square. The mountain shuttle stops right across the street. The underground parking access is also very easy. Just an all round great spot. We would certainly book this one again.

Though we didn't get a chance to use them - I thought it was nice that the owners supplied 2 bikes for guests to use - great idea! Thank you.

We have stayed in Whistler many times but this is a great location. Near to the heart of the village, had everything we wanted and was very clean. We definitely will be back.

reasonable distance to lifts

Fantastic location. Ideal layout for us and our 12 year old grandson. Very comfortable bed and sofa bed. Compact but well laid out condo. Would return. Of course the icing on the cake was all the lovely snow we had for the 9 days we were there.

Pros:

• Nice location just outside of the village, easily walkable.
• Never waited longer than 7 mins for the shuttle bus to carry us and our snowboards to the base of the gondola - for free! Great service.
• Lots of towels and hooks
• Lots of coat hooks
• Very clean
• Well equipped kitchen
• A nice size for 2 people (probably wouldnâ??t recommend this for 4 adults)
• Ear plugs provided, although we didnâ??t find the noise to be an issue
• Free parking

Cons:

• Strangely Small entryway which is a bit of a pain upon return with gear. You kinda have to go 1 at a time.
• Curtains in bedroom were too small for window and let the morning light in even with the blinds closed - unconducive for a lie in!
• Unfinished grout above taps in bath, would fill this for aesthetics
• Bed was either aging or too soft for us. Would upgrade bed and bedding to hotel standards to make this a 5 star

Overall we enjoyed our stay in this apartment, although there are both pros, and cons of which should be considered before booking.

PROS

• Outstanding location right opposite The Marketplace and 3 minutes walk to the IGA supermarket for groceries
• Super convenient for the gondola, we walked it in 10 minutes and there is a bus stop right outside on Lorimer if preferred
• Well maintained and spotlessly clean inside
• Abundant wardrobe space for hanging clothing
• Small, but well kitted out kitchen with a selection of condiments supplied
• Ample selection of linens for the bed and towels for bathroom and pool
• Huge sunny deck off the top floor bedroom
• Sandy was very helpful and allowed us to leave luggage in the apartment on our departure day

CONS

• The apartment fronts on to a busy road with an entrance/exit to The Marketplace car park, so expect traffic noise
• The layout is over 3 floors, although there is only an entrance door on the ground floor with a tiny lobby
• A lot of stairs!
• It's a bit dark, especially in the living room
• There's no dining table just a breakfast bar big enough for 2 people
• The entrance door has a key operated lock and the key is held at The Deer Lodge, a code operated lock would be much simpler and wouldn't require going somewhere else in the village to collect keys
• It was unusually hot while we were in Whistler and although there is AC in the bedroom it's too noisy to leave it on. If a fan could be provided for guests to use that would be beneficial as the apartment really heats up during the day

We had a great time in Whistler, it was fun to be there for hiking and biking instead of our usual winter trip for snow sports. This apartment served us well for a summer trip although I probably wouldn't book it for winter when we travel with skis and boards as there is limited storage space in the lobby for equipment.

1BR condo in Wicked location. Across the street from the marketplace and so close to all amenities - groceries, liquor store, cafes, restaurants, bike and walking tracks...

We stayed for Ironman weekend and it was ideal. Not super spacious, but who wants to be inside in Whistler anyways?? Smooth Check-in and owners were quick to respond.

Glacier reach is in a close location to access lifts. The unit was small, a bit too small for 4 people. I would return no problem with 2. Overall comfy and clean.

We found the condo to be very comfortable. Ideal location, away from the busyness of the village, which we enjoyed when walking about. Beds were great and the jacuzzi was wonderful after a hard day of skiing. The only real negatives would be the steps. After a long day on the slopes, our legs just didn't want to work the same. The bathroom could use a little more shelf space. The other is the snow plows. Every morning about 5-6 they had something to do. Weather it was snow to plow or water to channel off the road, they were noisy. The ear plugs did help a lot with that. Other then that, it was a great trip. Our friends that met up with us had a great time skiing, said they will definitely be back to Whistler. And thanks so much for accommodating us with the pan and colander for making the lasagna. It's always fun to have a get together at each others condo.

A great place to stay in a very busy resort. The only persnickety point would be that there were no bin bags for the removal of all our rubbish. Also the towels could have been bigger! Apart from those minor points a lovely three nights was had.

The townhouse was lovely and at a great location. Close to the village and my friends and I couldn't have been any happier with our stay!

Great place, very clean and well maintained. Great value! 10-15 minute walk to the gondolas. The only downside was that the community hot tub was under repair, otherwise it was a great place. I would definitely stay here again.

We have rented this property for an extended stay in September/October while doing a project in Whistler. It is as described and then some. The upstairs outdoor deck is fantastic, its super nice to soak up the sun and wind down the day. The place was very clean and well taken care off, and the owners left a little basket with coffee and tea and such.

The location across from the store is very handy and it's also a short walk into the village to go out for dining. The entry way is quite small, I could see that would be a bit of a problem if there is ski gear for 4 people in there.

Convenient underground parking is included, and did I mention that you are also allowed to use the owners bikes? They must be super nice people, they are very accommodating and quick to respond to emails. If we need to stay in Whistler again, they will for sure get my business again!

This is an ideally situated right across the street from Market Place. The check in was easy and the unit was as advertised. It suits 2 people well, The kitchen is well equipped. We enjoyed the hot tub which was very near the unit.

Everything we needed for our skiing weekend. The owner was very helpful before the booking and afterwards when we left an item behind. The unit is very well set up and comfortable. It is close to the shuttle for skiing access and across the street from marketplace. We have stayed in the middle of the village before but preferred this location as it is quieter at night but 5 minutes walk to centre of the village.

Bedroom window faces the side of the marketplace, so delivery trucks could be a problem for some in the morning. Ear plugs were provided by the owners to address the issue - nice touch. We personally did not have problems with noise. Well equipped kitchen and TV/internet equipment works fine. Has Tassimo coffee machine, among other things. I wish I new it - would have brought my own T-disks from home.

Sauna, hot tub and pool are very nice and clean (last time we stayed in the same complex, sauna was broken. This time it works fine)

The unit it rather small for 4 people with ski gear. Tiny entrance area makes it really challenging to fit in all the gear when coming from the mountain. Pull-out sofa bed takes most of the living room space when extended.

Asked owners a question over text message during the stay, but never got a response, so had to figure out things myself. It was Christmas day, so I guess it could be understood. Prior inquiries were promptly answered.

One of the two underground garages has visitor area that does not require a key to get to. Very useful when skiing on the check-out day - we returned the keys in the morning and left the car there for the day.

This rental worked great for us. Great location, right across from the market. One thing to know is that you can't just pull up to the door and unload......you need to park in the parkade/or road around the corner and hall all your stuff in. Also almost every other rental you can see there have hottubs on their decks. This one does not. There is one for the community to use out back though. All in all it worked well for us. Thanks to Sandy answering questions quickly and making this a great easy getaway to plan.
