Lake Placid Lodge is an 80 unit apartment building located in the Creekside district of Whistler BC. The units are owned by different individuals, some who live there, some who rent them out. I do both.
Dudley Do-Rite of the Royal Canadian Mountain Police will be there to welcome you and to stand on guard during your stay.
A cozy nook to relax in, plus lots of interesting pictures, books and decorations to make your stay more memorable.
The couch on the left is a leather LAZY BOY SOFA BED. Most sofa beds tend to be uncomfortable, but this one has thick memory foam and is pretty good.
Don't forget that the lights in dining room are on a dimmer so that you can set the mood for a romantic glass of wine. The expandable cherry wood dinging room table has comfy padded seats.
The new stainless steel counter top is super cool and clean to prepare meals on. The double basin integral sink and industrial style faucet make clean up a breeze.
Behind the two wooden bifold doors in this picture there is plenty of storage space. There is another closet in the entrance way too.
The TV set that you can see on the right is one of two. The one in the living room pictured here is an LED LG High definition set. The one in the bedroom is a new larger Panasonic flat screen PLASMA wall mounted unit. They both get tons of channels.
Many of our guests have taken the time to get their pictures taken with Dudley Do Rite and they have emailed them to us. Just for fun we have posted them in the living room.
Small touches like this antique circa 1950's German Cukoo Clock make the unit seem more like someone's home rather than a hotel room.
This plaque hanging by the entrance to the unit proudly commemorates the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Whistler is truly a world-class mountain and our apartment is only 200 meters to the famous Olympic Medal Plaza.
An easy right hand turn off of the main HWY 99 (the red line) and you are there. That's it, no complicated directions.
You can see where the CREEKSIDE area is on the bottom right hand side of the map. The gondola at Creekside generally has shorter line-ups than the ones in the Whistler Village.
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. Whistler has some of the world's greatest skiing and my condo is 200 meters from the Creekside Gondola to take you up to there fast.
Once you go down the elevator, grab your skis out of the lobby ski locker, exit the front entance and go across the street then up 15 stairs you are sitting on the gondola. It's so easy you can even ski in for lunch. Everything is there at the base - guest services, ski school, ski shop, ski repairs, retaraunts, Starbucks, bank, full grocery store and even the medal podium for 2010 Olympic downhill. The local and experienced Whistler Mountain skiers often choose this Gondola to upload over the hustle and bustle of the Main Village. There is also a shuttle right outside of the building that goes to Blackcomb Mountain every 15 minutes.
RENNOVATION RENNOVATION RENNOVATION. We just finished rennovating the units kitchen in January of 2018 and installed a new bathroom in 2017. There is lots of cool hand painted kitchen and bathroom tile art that give the unit a funky, colorful and fun character. The large outdoor pool and hot tub are re-opened after having undergone a facelift too.
My unit is cozy, comfortable, clean, fully equiped and is ready for you to kick back and enjoy. The photo gallery tells alot about the quality of unit 209 and the building. Lake Placid Lodge was built in 1989, is easy to find and is setup well for the ease of unloading your baggage.
When the unit is not rented out I use it myself so it has everything you need for cooking, reading, watching the 65 inch smart TV, surfing the net or just plain relaxing in front of the firepalce.

This property has undergone recent upgrades in the kitchen and bathroom which are excellent. Appliances are top of the line and the large screen TV was a hit, although there were no instructions regarding how to get it to work. We figured it out. The Mountie motif was a real conversation starter and added an interesting feel to the place compared to other units we have stayed in. For those who do a lot of cooking in the unit the quantities of some of the utensils were a bit lacking.
Overall the unit was very comfortable, the location excellent. We would certainly recommend the unit and would definitely stay here again. Thanks Dave.View Full Review

Many extras: books, CDs and games. The gas fireplace is great to sit beside after a long day on the slopes. Dim the lights for dining and then sit in the window nook and watch the snowfall as you plan your next day of skiing. Or watch the 42 inch HD TV.
The pool below is great for apres ski activities and the hot tub is one of the biggest in Whistler. If you don't feel like cooking indoors there are a couple of BBQ's by the pool too.

One of the nice things about Creekside is that it is about 5 minutes closer to Vancouver than the the Village. It is also easier to get in and off of from Highway 99. It is the origianl Whistler. The Husky Gas station across is where it all started at Whistler 40 years ago and where I came to ski as a teenager.

We thought of everything. Our corner unit is great for dining and doubles as a game room. Great for kids of all ages. Eurika you have found extra storage for all those things you did not know where to put . Lift up the storage bench and there are the games .
After you have arrived at Creekside just off highway 99N park your car and relax. We have a great location and many ammenities to make your stay enjoyable. Ski in ski out at our gondola base. Put your boots on, down the elevator, grab your skies at the front entrance ski locker, cross the street, step into a comfortable gondola and have a great day. Shopping, fine dining, Starbucks,Boston Pizza are all right there. The Super Market with reasonable prices. An outdoor garden with heated swimming pool all year , sauna and hot tub. A stroll down the raod will take you to Alta Lake and a path around the lake. Bike trails and hiking in the summer and croos country winter wonderland in the ski season. Everything is there to make your holiday special.
I have been a huge fan of Whistler my entire life. As a kid I remember driving up here early on Sunday mornings from Vancouver and getting changed into our ski-gear in the scramble parking lot. I dreamed of the day that I might own my own place here and be able to ski in and ski out of the unit. I finally got around to purchasing this place in 2012.
When I am not hanging out with the Prime Minister I am a part time ski bum. All kidding aside I have been involved in the Olympic Movement for the last 10 years. I worked on the bid to bring the Olympics to Canada and also worked on the London 2012 Olympic Bid. More recently for 5 years I was the Director of Sponsorship Sales at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Organizing Committee (VANOC) The picture is of me and Prime Minister Harper at the Games. If you book my place or not , remember that it is best to try and book a unit that the owner uses. That way more attention is paid to the small details. I am up here about once or twice a month when the unit is not booked. I am trying to create a real win / win situation where I rent it out at a reasonable price and get some use out of it for me and my partner when it is not being used.
