LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. Whistler has some of the world's greatest skiing and my condo is 200 meters from the Creekside Gondola to take you up to there fast.  

Once you go down the elevator, grab your skis out of the lobby ski locker, exit the front entance and go across the street then up 15 stairs you are sitting on the gondola. It's so easy you can even ski in for lunch. Everything is there at the base - guest services, ski school, ski shop, ski repairs, retaraunts, Starbucks, bank, full grocery store and even the medal podium for 2010 Olympic downhill. The local and experienced Whistler Mountain skiers often choose this Gondola to upload over the hustle and bustle of the Main Village. There is also a shuttle right outside of the building that goes to Blackcomb Mountain every 15 minutes.

RENNOVATION RENNOVATION RENNOVATION. We just finished rennovating the units kitchen in January of 2018 and installed a new bathroom in 2017.  There is lots of cool hand painted kitchen and bathroom tile art that give the unit a funky, colorful and fun character. The large outdoor pool and hot tub are re-opened after having undergone a facelift too. 

My unit is cozy, comfortable, clean, fully equiped and is ready for you to kick back and enjoy. The photo gallery tells alot about the quality of unit 209 and the building. Lake Placid Lodge was built in 1989, is easy to find and is setup well for the ease of unloading your baggage. 

When the unit is not rented out I use it myself so it has everything you need for cooking, reading, watching the 65 inch smart TV, surfing the net or just plain relaxing in front of the firepalce.

Fantastic Stay in this Unit

Having to visit Whistler every year over the last 23 years, this unit is one of the most comfortable that I have stayed in. Lots of artwork on the wall. Kitchen and washroom are recently renovated in good condition. The TV has been nicely upgraded. Kitchen is fully equipped. I would suggest the following minor improvements to make the stay even more perfect. 1) Drainage for the washroom sink is a bit slow. Hair particles may be trapped underneath the drainage cap that may require more frequent clearing. 2) The sofa bed sags a bit due to frequent use, but comfortable enough to sleep on. 3) The exhaust fan light does not work making the cooking area a bit dim.

Despite these minor shortcomings, it is still a great unit and a great location to reach the gondola.

Second stay, better than the first stay

This is our second time staying here. Since the first time, the unit has been updated with new kitchen and bathroom! It's a huge improvement! Just steps to the Creekside Gondola and an easy 5 minute drive to Whistler Village in the evening. Plenty of free parking after 5pm in Whistler village so no issues to go the main village for a night out. Highly recommended and we are looking forward to our next trip to stay here.

Many extras: books, books and more books.  The gas fireplace is great to sit beside after a long day on the slopes. Dim the lights for dining and then sit in the window nook and watch the snowfall as you plan your next day of skiing. Or watch the 55 inch SMART HD TV.

The pool below is great for apres ski activities and the hot tub is one of the biggest in Whistler. The hot tub is usually kept nice and hot.

If you don't feel like cooking indoors there are a couple of BBQ's by the pool too.


Private Amenities

BBQ The outdoor common patio downstairs has just been renovated. It features two new gas BBQ's that are easy to use and work really well.
Books For your quiet times. There are three bookshelves full of a wide variety of good books from my personal collection.
Cable TV Great cable package with tons of HD stations. It is Telus Optik TV.
Coded Access There is an access code to get in the building. Then a shorter access code to get into the actual suite 209. It is easy and you will never be locked outside without a key. Best to write the code down and put it in your wallet. It is short enough to memorize too.
Deck Private covered deck with nice view of mountains
Dining Area 6 can be seated comfortably around the dining room table if you plan on having guests over for dinner.
Dishwasher The suite has a brand new stainless steal kitchen counter top. But get this. The new stainless steel dishwasher that I just bought has a feature I have never seen. It has a window on the front door so you can watch your dishes get clean. Don't know why you would want to but you could if you wanted to.
Fireplace While on the cushioned window seat, enjoy the rustic feel of the natural gas fireplace built with river rock and a log mantel!
Fresh Linens Four complete sets of bath, table, kitchen and bed linens for four guests.
Guest Parking Parking is free. Come and go as you wish, just use the door code to get in and out.
Hairdryer In one of the bathroom drawers.
Internet Access High Speed Wi Fi
Iron and Ironing Board The suite has both.
Laundry Facilities In the basement there is a common laundry area with three big washers and three big dryers. They all operate on one dollar loonie coins and cost three dollars each.

Patio Furniture Lounge furniture and patio furniture including umbrellas.
Safety Equipment First Aid kit on premises.
Stereo The TV has Stingray music and sounds pretty good.

One of the nice things about Creekside is that it is about 5 minutes closer to Vancouver than the the Village. It is also easier to get in and off of from Highway 99. It is the origianl Whistler. The Husky Gas station across is where it all started at Whistler 40 years ago and where I came to ski as a teenager.

Failure to notify us of property-related problems while in the property and as they become evident, will forfeit any rights or claims against us regarding property condition after your departure.
COVID Contact Tracing Requirements The property owner must be able to produce a list of guests who have occupied their rentals for contact tracing protocols in the event of an outbreak. The guest must provide names of whop will be occupying the rental property during their rental agreement.
COVID Maximum Guest Limitation The number of people is limited to the capacity of the space, plus a maximum of five visitors at any given time. Large gatherings will be removed from the premises and no refund will be provided.

After you have arrived at Creekside just off highway 99N park your car and relax. We have a great location and many ammenities to make your stay enjoyable. Ski in ski out at our gondola base. Put your boots on, down the elevator, grab your skies at the front entrance ski locker, cross the street, step into a comfortable gondola and have a great day. Shopping, fine dining, Starbucks,Boston Pizza are all right there. The Super Market with reasonable prices. An outdoor garden with heated swimming pool all year , sauna and hot tub. A stroll down the raod will take you to Alta Lake and a path around the lake. Bike trails and hiking in the summer and croos country winter wonderland in the ski season. Everything is there to make your holiday special.

About Us

I have been a huge fan of Whistler my entire life.  As a kid I remember driving up here early on Sunday mornings from Vancouver and getting changed into our ski-gear in the scramble parking lot. I dreamed of the day that I might own my own place here and be able to ski in and ski out of the unit. I finally got around to purchasing this place in 2012. 

When I am not hanging out with the Prime Minister I am a part time ski bum. All kidding aside I have been involved in the Olympic Movement for the last 10 years. I worked on the bid to bring the Olympics to Canada and also worked on the London 2012 Olympic Bid. More recently for 5 years I was the Director of Sponsorship Sales at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Organizing Committee (VANOC) The picture is of me and Prime Minister Harper at the Games. If you book my place or not , remember that it is best to try and book a unit that the owner uses.  That way more attention is paid to the small details.  I am up here about once or twice a month when the unit is not booked.   I am trying to create a real win / win situation where I rent it out at a reasonable price and get some use out of it for me and my partner when it is not being used.
