Ski Cabin feel

Jamie from Coquitlam, Canada
Date: Mar-22-2016 for a stay in Mar 2016

This condo is very comfortable and well decorated. Feels very much like a ski cabin. The kitchen is easy to work in and well appointed. The location is very convenient to walk to the Village. We walked everywhere. The building is very quiet. The hot tub downstairs is quite big and very clean. The ski locker area is also a bonus.

I would definitely recommend this unit.

Great vacation rental for a couple

Kenneth from San Jose, United States
Date: Jan-22-2016 for a stay in Jan 2016

This place was very conveniently located on the blackcomb side of the village. It was only a 5 minute walk to the Blackcomb Daylodge area and bus service arrives reliably every 10 minutes or so. Ski-in/Ski-out was awesome for the start and end of the day.

On site laundry was good, well maintained, and secure, so you don't have to worry about your laundry. On site locker was nice for equipment at the end of the day.

My only recommendation for the kitchen would be to get some proper pint glasses and maybe some shot glasses. Everything in the kitchen is geared towards wine drinkers, but there wasn't much for beer or spirits drinking. I highly recommend the Whistler brewing company Chestnut Ale for beer lovers. Overall it was a fantastic experience!

Marquise Ste 4XX summer stay

Christine from Vancouver, Canada
Date: Aug-19-2014 for a stay in Aug 2014

The suite was as described in the ad. The photos are accurate for most of the furnishings and decor. (It looks like upgrades were made to appliances in the kitchen, and some decor, since the photos were taken.) The suite was comfortable and well-appointed, as promised.

Unfortunately, the pilot light of the gas fireplace was kept on and when we first arrived the living/kitchen area (which does not have a window that opens) was very stuffy, hot, uncomfortable. We had to turn on the air conditioning unit in the living area in order to keep the temperature in the living/kitchen area bearable. The gas fireplace was actually fanning warm air out into the open living/kitchen area.

Even after we figured out how to turn off the pilot light, we found the living/kitchen area stuffy. The temperature was cooler without the fireplace pilot on and warm air being fanned into the room, but the space didn't get any fresh air. The air conditioning unit didn't seem to draw in fresh air at all.

Otherwise, the living room has good furniture and was comfortable. The sofa is a little too soft for my liking but was welcomed for relaxing after a day of hiking.

The bedroom has two windows that open and between opening the windows and using a fan to draw cool, mountain air into the bedroom, the temperature there remained mostly comfortable. A stronger fan in that room would be nice.

We prefer a firmer mattress but the bed was pretty comfortable otherwise. Bring your own sheets if you are allergic to chemical perfumes as the laundry detergent used was scented with chemicals. The bedding seemed to be good quality.

Curtains in both rooms block out light which is nice for a good night's rest.

The kitchen has everything you need to make meals, just bring all your own food, oil, spices, etc. The stove/oven work well. The oven could use a clean as it set off the smoke alarm when we used it on broil since some remains in there "smoked up". There are lots of kitchen implements and tools of good quality (unlike so many other vacation rentals). We missed having good pots in the kitchen, though. All the stovetop cookware had (toxic) non-stick surfaces. We used the excellent bakeware and the oven, instead of cooking stovetop.

The kitchen faucet handle is need of repair. It doesn't shut off water to the tap properly, but we figured out the workaround after a while.

The bathroom is spacious and comfortable to use. The handtowel rack next to the sink and the bath towel rack on the far end both need repair. We didn't have an allen (hex) key to tighten the screw that holds the racks onto the wall mount. I managed to get the bath towel rack tightened with a nail file, but left the handtowel rack under the sink.

The bath/shower was spacious, and the shower head and water pressure were strong. It was nice to have really hot (not tepid) water readily.

The suite is located in a property above the Upper Village, behind the Whistler Chateau, and was very convenient for walking to and from both the Upper Village and the main Village. Being away from the main Village, the property is located in a quiet spot. We also didn't hear neighbours at all which is very nice.

The instructions for check in and parking were good, though I would add the instruction to use the common key to unlock the garage gate to get into the parking area.

We were a bit disappointed about the slow response to the heat- venting-out-of-the-fireplace issue. We called late in the evening of our first night, then again the next morning, but didn't hear back until about midday.

I would recommend the suite to others if they were looking for something like this as a vacation rental. It definitely is better than most and good value for the price.

Cozy, quiet, and private condo!

Alicia from Vancouver, Canada
Date: Aug-11-2014 for a stay in Aug 2014

We were very happy with this condo and the photos are very representative of the property. The building is on the outskirts of the village so it is a little quieter, which we appreciated. Though we stayed in summer, we did notice there was a fireplace which gave a very cozy vibe to the condo. There were sufficient pots, pans, cutlery, cups, and plates for our stay. It was also a nice set-up/layout and would be great for kicking back after a long day of skiing, snowboarding, or other outdoor activities. The keyless entry was a bonus because it always helps to reduce the things you're lugging around - especially if you're carrying a load of equipment with you. Would highly recommend the condo!

The only downside was the lack of coffee (it looked like the container which had coffee in it had been emptied but tea and sugar were both available). Parking was also paid, which is not always the greatest, but it wasn't too bad - it was comparative or cheaper than other Whistler hotels.
