Would have been perfect if everything worked.

Derek from Vancouver, Canada
Date: Dec-19-2016 for a stay in Dec 2016

Upon arrive number items aren't functional, though nothing major. 5 light bulbs, microwave turn table, out of hot water, etc.

The hot tub was locked without a key; apparently it's usually never locked. Couldn't use it for most of the day. The next day, the hot tub ended up being a warm tub. Not worth going into.

The overall building though was quite nice and very large. The beds are hit and miss. Some are good, others were uncomfortable. For the amount of space we got though, it s definitely worth it. Only reason why I wouldn't go back is the hot tub. We really wanted a working hot tub after a long of snowboarding.

Hello, There was so much that was good about this property (location, spaciousness, amenities) but there are a few deep concerns that negatively affect our desire to recommend this property to others. We would like the owners to have a chance to address these concerns before this is posted online.

To put it plainly, the floors were not clean, at all. There were pieces of glass in the rug that one of our family members stepped on, glass was found in a lego basket of toys, there were bits of food and dust all along the edges of the carpets, and the bathroom floors were not cleaned fully (pieces of dirt around the baseboards and toilets).

One problem in maintaining this space could be the poor quality of the vacuum, which we tried to use, but was nearly useless.

Another problem was maintenance of the property. The BBQ was dirty, the patio hadn't been swept in months, cupboard doors were falling off their hinges and one closet door did come off when someone bumped it, when we first walked into the house.

Further good points are that the beds were comfortable and clean, and there was lots of storage. However, the real problems of dirty floors and poor maintenance overshadowed the good aspects of this property.

Other maintenance that you might want to look into is that the fan in the kitchen is extremely noisy, one of the elements isn't working, the BBQ needs replacing and there is a broken arm on the living room chair.

A few days of sprucing up would do this unit a lot of good, and is something future guests would really appreciate. This trip to Whistler was a very special time for our family, who are usually separated by great distances, but the uncleanliness and poor maintenance was a disappointing aspect of this holiday.

One other concern that came up, that you are not in control of, is that there was a serious fight that occurred in your next door property, at 2:30 am on the 28th. There was a lot of pounding, swearing and yelling going on. We were very concerned that someone might have been hurt, and that your property was damaged. It lasted for 10-20 minutes, and then some people left.

Thank-you for giving us this chance to express our concerns.

Great location, quiet but needs some updating

Jodie from Chilliwack, Canada
Date: Aug-21-2016 for a stay in Aug 2016

It is a beautiful complex close to the village with very easy access to the free shuttle. The unit is large and overall really great for big families/2 families. The master ensuite definitely needs updating as the shower is rotten and there's ants in there. The kitchen could be better equipped with frying pans that have handles that stay on, a flipper and maybe salt and pepper. If it's hot you will definitely need to bring a fan.

That being said, it's large, clean (besides the ensuite shower), quiet and a great location. Would definitely recommend if they renovate the ensuite!

Great place for bikers

Garry from Perth, Australia
Date: Aug-18-2016 for a stay in Jul 2016

6 of us flew out from Australia to ride the bike bark and this place was perfect.

Easy ride to and from town and an easy 10-15 min walk. If you ride trail bikes the best trails end 2mins from the house. That's where one of the stages for the EWS finished

The house had plenty of room and it was great to be able to lock the bikes up safely at night inside the large storage room inside of the house. I would highly recommend this house to bikers who don't want to stay in a hotel in town.

It's walking distance to lost lake which we visited for a swim on the hot days after a day's riding

Great value for money. We were a group of males so didn't cook much but the kitchen looked stocked with plenty of pots and pans, plates, mugs glasses etc. My bed was comfy and I didn't hear any complaints from the boys so all in all thumbs up all round. .

Would definitely recommend!

Andrew from Vancouver, Canada
Date: Dec-29-2015 for a stay in Dec 2015

There is a free bus to the main village right outside the complex. Very convenient to take trips to the village either for shopping or snowboarding. Note that the bus doesn't operate late at night.

The townhouse is a lot bigger than it seems in the pictures. Very spacious and kitchen is very well stocked. The stove and oven are a bit old and somewhat hard to use but manageable. The hot tub located on the bottom floor is only accessible by the room with the queen bed which was a bit annoying for those who stayed in that room since the doors would open and close through out the night. The lights in the hot tub and on the outside weren't working so it was a bit dark.

But overall it was a very pleasant stay and we definitely worth the amount we had paid. Would definitely stay here again next year!

August Long Weekend Stay

sheena from surrey, Canada
Date: Sep-11-2015 for a stay in Aug 2015

The driveup to the property was a bit of a hassle as the directions sent to us were not very clear. We ended up finding the property using road signs and google maps. The property itself is great, huge with plenty of room and sleeping space for a large party.

The kitchen had a ton of clean utensils and supples needed for cooking/bbqing. Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and plenty of towels and amenities were available (some of us had forgotten to bring shampoo/conditioner, so they were lifesavers).

The property is a bit dated, could use a slight reno, but is nice and gives off a rustic vacation cabin feel so we didn't mind it. The only problem we had was overall cleanliness. Some parts of the house were a bit dirty and could have been vacuumed better, but other than that, it was great and we couldn't have asked for better.

We just enjoyed a wonderful long weekend in Snowgoose 16. This is a great unit for either a summer or winter visit. It's spacious (we were 2 families staying here) with lots of living, dining and kitchen space to accommodate 8 or 9 people (which isn't always the case in Whistler. )

The location is fantastic - you are on the free bus shuttle, but can easily walk into the village in the evening and you're right on the bike trails (x country in winter). Booking is easy and the owners and property manager are easy to get in touch with and quick to respond.

I would highly recommend staying here (or next door at Snowgoose 15). Sue, Vancouver

Will definitely be back!

Rachell from Delta, Canada
Date: Jul-09-2015 for a stay in Jul 2015

We all had a great time staying at Paul & Corinne's and are already talking about wanting to go back. It was close enough to walk to the Village, walk to Lost Lake to spend the day, and having 10 people there it didn't feel crowded.

If you're going in the summer I would suggest bringing an extra fan as it does get quite warm, but it's summer and I'm not going to complain about that! The hot tub was wonderful and so was the BBQ.

It was so easy to book and then communicate with Shirley, the concierge, that I would book again this summer if we can find the time.

Great for what we needed. Could of been cleaner

Kimberley from Maple Ridge, Canada
Date: Jun-01-2015 for a stay in May 2015

This place was a little dirty. Windows, carpets, some bedding were not clean. We had 2 ladies wash their sheets and comforters because they smelled bad. The windows had writing on them because they were so dusty from the previous renters. If they actually cleaned this place it would be a lot nicer.

Heather from Toronto, Canada
Date: Apr-23-2015 for a stay in Mar 2015

We were a little disappointed on arrival as there was a bad smell. We also had a few electrical problems and the place was not very clean. However I have to recommend Shirley from the concierge service for her prompt assistance in dealing with the issues. It turned out that the carpets had been cleaned the day before and were still damp. This did improve but did not go completely. The property is great but in need of some refreshment and new soft furnishings. The location for us was wonderful but I would not stay there again unless it was updated.

House is great and meets the needs of 2 families

Linda from Avon, United States
Date: Jan-06-2015 for a stay in Dec 2014

The property was great and met our needs completely. We would rent it again as it is huge. We were 2 families just prior to Christmas with 5 teenage girls. This house has a VERY large sleeping capacity which was great for us. You'll not feel cramped at all as there is lots of space. The house is very clean. My only comment was it was very basic and starting to get outdated with slight wear and tear - a few things are looking beaten up (kitchen table etc), yellowing wall paper but nothing major at all. Great dining and living room and kitchen. HUGE master bedroom and bathroom. We also thought there could be a few more coffee mugs and dishes. Such a large sleeping capacity with dishes for maybe 8 and very few little in kitchen equipment. Bare Minium; so bring your own stuff if your looking for anything above the standard rental kit. We've rented a lot of ski house and they always come with a basic "start up kit" for the first night. If you get there late at night (like we did) it is nice to have basics - one night of coffee, filters, sugar, etc. All of our past rentals have had this similar to a hotel room. A NEW clean kitchen sponge in a package needs to be left - not someones old used one. A full dish soap and not 1" left. A box of dishwasher soap too. Such small touches that make a big difference. Also a few more towels would have been appreciated. We had ONE per person with a HOT TUB. There should be a back up stock so you have a clean towel for the shower. People can't fly with extra towels. We also had a issue getting into the house. The wrong entry code was emailed to us. This was resolved within a half hour by the management but we did have a half hour wait at the front door. A bit of a worrysome half hour at 9pm not knowing if the management would pick up our email since no one picked up the call and the message goes straight to email. I think this would be a very large problem for someone not having a cell phone (someone traveling from Europe). I did not receive a email saying the code had been changed as the management team claimed. I only had the original email with the original code which I only recieved 2-3 days prior to our arrival. Changing a door code so close to arrival is not good as not everyone is doing emails during their trip.

david from n vancouver, Canada

The unit is quite worn. We found the unit very hard to heat due to poor windows and electric baseboard heating. We ran out of hot water a few times. Kitchen was poorly equipped - for example, lots of plates but only 5 coffee mugs. Lots of crumbs etc in the kitchen drawers, it really needed a good cleaning. The pullout couch was so poor it was unusable and we had to put mattresses on the floor. We had to ask for more towels, dish towels, kleenex etc after check in. The property manager was responsive to our requests. Very large master bedroom with good bed and large private bathroom. Hot tub is only accessible through one of the basement bedrooms.

Great location and great stay

Jean from Ottawa, Canada
Date: Dec-31-2014 for a stay in Dec 2014

Our stay has been very good and we would not hesitate to book and stay here again. The location and the size of the accommodation has been perfect for our family. I would, however, like to point out a few a few items that need attention: 1. A broom is needed. The light bulb over the kitchen table went out. It was almost impossible to remove and shattered when trying. A broom would have helped in the clean up. Little dust buster in the cupboard is not working. 2. Water drips from the bottom of the fridge. I think it happens when the fridge is defrosting. We have left a towel under the fridge to catch the water. 3. More cups in the kitchen would be handy. 4. The cleaner parked in one of the units spots one morning. We were not warned that this would happen and we're concerned we would have no spot for our car. After contacting Shirley, she said that she did not know he would park there as he had come for midweek cleaning. 5. Mid-week cleaning: I did not know there was mid-week cleaning nor did the unit look as if there was any midweek cleaning, ie, no extra toilet paper, sinks not cleaned ect. We did not really need a mid-week clean but if there was one, we should have known. 6. The heat in the bedroom on to the hot tub does not work. 7. Temperature in master bathroom is very hard to raise. If the heat lamp was working the room would be much more pleasant.

A great vacation, in a comfortable place in a great location.

toerist from Ottawa
Date: Jan-03-2015

We spent 8 days here over Christmas, with adult children, partners and other relatives overnight. Arrangements were easy to make, and everything worked perfectly on arrival (keys, parking-passes, etc.). The house is spacious and comfortable, great for a large gathering of people. We are happy walkers, so for us the location was convenient (1.5 km or less) to Whistler Village, including grocery shopping, restaurants, lifts, cross-country skiing, etc.. The house is not new, and some things showed some wear, and there was a lack of certain items such as pot-lids and cups. The heat upstairs was a little difficult to regulate, but it was very comfortable sleeping. In general, the good greatly outweighed any deficiencies. The oven did well for our turkey and other baking, and the fridge was nice and big, though it leaked at times. The (adult) kids loved the hot tub. we all appreciated the ski-storage room. Based on our research and experience, it was a very good deal, and we would not hesitate to recommend it.

Excellent place for a relaxing vacation!!

A FlipKey verified reviewer from Surrey
Date: Jul-04-2013

The place was outstanding. Plenty of room and amenities allowed us to have a wonderful time in Whistler. It was certainly great value for what we paid as a group. Location was okay and it would have been better if the free shuttle ran more often. We usually just ended up walking (12 mins) of taking a taxi ($7.50). All in all, this place was great and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an enjoyable Whistler vacation.

My friends and I came up here for the weekend to have a base camp for hiking and exploring Whistler. It was exactly what I was hoping for. Check-in was incredibly easy and the place was clean and welcoming. It had lots of beds for people to sleep in and the living area provided us with lots of room to hang out. It was located very close to the village making it easy for us to walk when needed. My only complaint is that the website advertises that games were available at the condo and all that was present was ~6 incomplete decks of cards and 1 set of dominoes. Overall I would definitely come back!

Excellent Stay in Whistler

A FlipKey verified reviewer from Seattle
Date: Sep-13-2012

I was looking for a cabin that could hold around 8-10 people for an outdoors man trip my friends and I had planned in Whistler. We were looking for something affordable, but also comfortable to sleep everybody. We were also looking for easy access to the village. This cabin not only satisfied each requirement, it went above and beyond. The cabin was gigantic and could have slept 10 people very comfortably. It had comfortable beds, couches, an upstairs loft, a hot tub, a nice kitchen and a big flat screen TV. It was also right on the shuttle line to get to lower village easily. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to lower village if you don't want to take the shuttle. The total cost for two nights during summer split 6-10 ways was very affordable. A steal for what we were getting. Also, everything about the booking process was incredibly smooth. I would definitely recommend this to a friend and I am already trying to find schedule a time a few years out to come back up here myself. The only negative that I can think of was when I we first pulled in. There are only 2 visitor parking spots and both of them have a sign saying that without a pass, you'll be towed. The instructions given to me said to park here temporarily then to go up to the room to grab the keys then go down and park in the spot. We did just this, but when I came back down to my car, there was a tow truck backing in getting ready to tow me, after I was only away for five minutes! Thankfully I wasn't 1 minute later, but I explained the situation and the guy just took off on his merry way. This negative is probably just due to bad luck, but that would have been an awful way to start the vacation.

Spacious and Clean

Our family had a wonderful time at Whistler. The townhouse we rented was very spacious and clean. The property was ready upon our arrival and was "as advertised". We would definitely stay here again if we needed book a place for a large group at Whistler.

Very spacious place

Overall the place was great for a large group. Lots of places to sleep and lots of bathroom space. My only complaint is that there was not enough toilet paper stocked up for our whole trip so we had to buy some more. Also there was no whine opener so we had to buy one of those as well.

Can't go wrong... Luxury away from home

My large family and I booked this place at the last moment and were 100% satisfied and happy. It is very large (2200 ft, as I recall), 3 floors, with spacious rooms. The main bedroom is alone on the top floor. The bus stops right at the front door and so we were never long or far from the lifts and the Village. After a day of skiing, we could ski to the unit (on the Blackcomb side).

Property like this one should be kept in better shape!

The SnowGoose 16 (Sg16), as this townhome is called, is about as average of a place as you can get - it looks a bit dated, and it shows it's rental purpose, with it's old appliances and furniture. It is well situated, with easy local bus/shuttle access, and about 1 mile from the Whistler village center, an easy 15 min walk away. There is a spacious common underground garage for your standard cars, although larger vehicles, like big Suvs or vans will fit tightly. Our biggest problem was somewhat non-assertive owners, and their lack of engagement in solving our concerns. Owners were at the townhome literally next door, SnowGoose 15, yet they were not responding to our calls or door knocks. The biggest of all the problems we had, was an old and beat up refrigerator, which was not working. Now, imagine what happens to milk, meats, fish, frozen goods, cheese, and other perishable items when they stay at close to room temperatures. It was not a pleasant realization that we do not have a fridge, and we did contact the owners promptly, only to be told that fridge is working properly! Giving it a benefit of the doubt, we left ice trays with fresh water in them in the freezer when we left skiing on our first day, only to find them in the same shape and "liquidity" as we left them - warm and not even a frost on them. It took another few days for owners to send a repair person to fix the fridge. Fridge was repaired, but most of our perishable items were already spoiled, and half of our $600 worth of groceries were thrown away. We never heard from the owners, which I consider to be a very poor service. I could list a few other things, like cheap and used up mattresses, doors that do not shut, showers that need new caulking and updating, lack of towels and linens, balcony that is falling apart, etc, etc. All these things should be kept in a much better shape for a place that is so close to the village and that costs so much. At the end, I can not really recommend this property.

Spacious lodging - lots of rooms and good public spaces. Take advantage of the concierge services and have the kitchen fully stocked before arrival.

Perfect Location and Perfect accommodation

The accommodation was amazing and fit us just right. The cooking appliances might need a little bit of maintenance as the stove did not seem to heat up adequately. The timer on the oven was also off. The new barbecue was also very helpful with our meals. The hot tub was broken when we got there but one quick call to the maintenance staff was all that was needed to get it fixed. Other then that the accommodation was perfect for us and we hope to come again next year and look for the same quality location.

Everything has beed taken care of upon our arrival, and all we had to do was unpack and enjoy the stay. The house sleeps 10 people comfortably, and the outside private hot tub is a great bonus. Will definitely be returning soon.

Large amount of space but amenities has poor quality

During the stay at snowgoose with my family. I noticed that this condo is really big, but most of the equipment and furniture are old and needs to do some renovation. For example, some blinds in the bedroom are broken, it could not cover the winoow entirely maybe covered only half of the window. In term of the amenities, a lot of kitchen tools were broken, the pots were not clean at all. Coffee maker still has coffee grounds left in it. There weren't any spices provided for the guests to do their cooking. From my past experience, the condos that I rent from always from spices for guests to use. There were only a little bit of salt in the cabinet. I found that there were not enough tissue paper rolls in the bathroom, especially our family has 10 people. The good thing is that it provided lots of space for a party of more than 10 people. The location is fine since there is a bus stop right in front of it. We didn't receive extra service during the stay.

Very disappointing

We ( 8 in our group) have rented Snowgoose #16 10 times over the past 15 years.Other than the Hot Tub & BBQ, there have been no improvements to the home. The age is showing. We arrived at 500pm to find the toilets with mould in the bowls, bathroom towels for maybe 2 guests only, no sheets or bedding for the pullout sofa on the landing, BBQ filthy, around it littered with cigarette butts & garbage, Hot Tub filthy & unsafe to use with, large crumbs & food chunks in kitchen drawers & DR table dirty with stuff stuck on it. The carpets are badly in need of replacing, but that was not dangerous. We specifically asked for extra toilet paper as we were 8 women, but alas there were 2 in the entire townhouse. We called , & texted Shirley who responded right away directing us to move to # 15. We went into # 15 to find the home in better shape, but the BBQ was unusable as there were no cables to hook up the propane. We had to go back to the BBQ in $16, clean it & use it. This same scenario occurred last year on the same weekend, only then the beds hadnot even been changed or made. The home's location is fantastic with a short 20 min walk to the village centre. The Fireplace & general coziness is inviting. The size is perfect for our group.

Spacious but poorly maintained

Great location. Home is very spacious and was well-suited for our family reunion (four couples and four bedrooms). Large kitchen, dining room and living room easily accommodated our family. Also has an excellent hot tub on deck that was refreshing after all our hikes. But, the home is poorly maintained. Bathrooms were clean, but carpets had visible dirt, and there was no working vacuum cleaner in unit. Garburator did not work and there was rotting food still in it when we arrived. The BBQ, which we had planned on using daily, was old, rusted, and the gas burner completely covered with charcoal and garbage. After cleaning it out the burner still did not throw a proper flame and we ended up having to fry steaks and other meals on the range. Many of the window blinds were broken. Finally, the bed in the master suite was old, sunken in the middle, and extremely uncomfortable. This home has so much potential, and considering the cost to rent, it should be maintained so much better. My wife and I have been going to Whistler a couple of times a year for the last 15 years and were looking for a larger place to start holding annual family reunions. I was hoping Snowgoose would be the place for us, but unfortunately not.

Family reunion for 16+ baby

While both condos gave us enough space for a large family reunion, the cleanliness of the places was wanting. They both smelled of dirty carpets and when searching for a lost object we noticed that there were many items (socks, toys, etc) and much dirt under the cushions of the couches. In both condos, the carpets are in need of cleaning, especially with a small baby who often sat on them. The kitchen appliances are very, very old. We found that the ovens did not reach the expected temperatures and this caused two evening meals to be ready at very late hour. The dishwashers are on their last legs and did not clean well. The windows are also in need of a good cleaning. The beds and bedding were clean and comfortable and there were sufficient clean towel for the stay. The location and bus service to the condos was very good. The condo complex was quiet. The underground parking and garbage/recycling was very good. I would recommend the condos with the caveat that the condos are well used and a little shabby.

Good rental for a group, decent place to crash

A FlipKey verified reviewer from Chicago

Overall our stay went well and we only had a few disappointments in the rental. Snowgoose 16 provided us with a decent place to rest after a full day of skiing. The price was on the cheaper side of rentals that can accommodate groups of 10 or more and price was a large part of why we selected this rental. Check-in was easy and it was easy to get in and out of the cabin. Having wireless internet was also a plus. The table and living room were large enough to accommodate our group of 10. We didn't have any new snow while we were there (too bad for skiing!) so the outside walkways were clear. Getting to and from the free Whistler shuttle was easy but we ended up driving into town for the evenings for extra convenience. The kitchenware was mix and match but had most of what we needed except for salt, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, and garbage bags. I recommend not using the grill. That was a disappointment to us as we bought groceries to grill out for first dinner there. Also, the loft is more like a large landing in between the living room on the main floor and master bedroom upstairs.

The unit was not clean upon arrival. We had to buy cleaning supplies to clean up kitchen before we could use it. Other than dishwasher soap, there were no cleaning aides, no garbage bags, zippo. The barbeque was filthy, old cigarette butts on it, out of propane, no light on deck. Carpets, floors, bathrooms had not been cleaned properly. There was no shine to anything! There was a greasy film throughout kitchen and bathrooms. Kitchen supplies were inadequate, old, worn, mismatched and strewn throughout the cupboards. White towels in bathrooms were not white, very worn, lufra like. Outlet in master ensuite did not work. We have stayed in alot of units in Whistler and other ski areas and have never experienced such uncleanliness as we did with this unit. The outside walkways from the unit to the road and underground parking area were a sheet of ice and not maintained adequately or safely. In the 3 days we were there, they stayed the same. If you want repeat customers and referrals, this unit is overdue for a reno - even a splash of cheap paint would clean it up. Everything is old and worn. The bathrooms smell of mildew. Not a crowd pleaser. We were very disappointed - we won't be back.
