March Weekend at Northstar

This is a nice clean unit and Northstar is a great property/location. The unit itself is on the back side of the complex so it has quite a bit of road noise as compared to other units. This didn't matter much to us as it was March and we had the windows closed and didn't really use the deck.

Overall the unit was in great condition and had everything we needed. It is updated in some ways (new carpet, very good wifi) but then in other ways seems to have original fixtures and appliances compared to other Northstar units we've stayed in, which show (and operate with) some wear and tear. The kitchen supplies were fine but a little spare compared to other units as well; there were barely enough glasses/plates/bowls for our family of four. The dishwasher worked okay but left a layer of soap residue on many dishes (this happened most with the load we found in the dishwasher upon arrival, and still with the loads we did, even when we lessened the amount of detergent we used).

Our biggest issue was that the communication was less detailed than in other units we've stayed in. For example, neither our booking, confirmation, or check-in emails had the actual unit number in it. I had to call upon arrival to find out. (the number was in the original listing but only in one spot and pretty easy to miss. Obviously this is something I could have double-checked before departure, but I've gotten used to this info being in the emails so I'd have it when we arrived). It was unclear how to take care of the garbage and recycling upon departure (again, we've stayed in other units so we mostly knew the drill, but the property has recently switched over to using the fob to get into the garbage room as opposed to a code, but there was no mention of this change in the emails so we spent some time trying to find the code). Again, not a big deal, but an extra stress when trying to hit the 10am checkout time with two children.

But just to reiterate, the benefits of being in Northstar, with its location and pool/hottub, and spacious units, far outweigh the minor issues we had, so we'd recommend staying here for sure.
