Canada ski 2020

We were a group of 7 adults of 3 generations (3 couples & 1 single) on a two week ski holiday. The location of this property for our group was absolutely fantastic. The 5 skiers amongst us had the choice of a 5 minute walk to Whistler village or a 2 minute walk to Blackcomb; it couldn't have been simpler. Being in between the two locations also allowed the 2 non-skiers to wander both bases with ease.

The property was very warming and well stocked with the everyday basic essentials. The washing machine and tumble dryer in the property was wonderful as it meant we could do our washing whilst away rather than carry two weeks worth of clothes with us.

The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom facilities worked well. Keyless entry made life much simpler especially with multiple occupants. The daily fire logs were also a very nice touch.

Similar to a previous guest, we found it difficult with the noise in the property travelling at night. We had the 3 couples in the 3 bedrooms and our 27 year old son sleeping in the lounge on the sofa bed. Unfortunately every noise and movement rose up to the two top floor bedrooms, which disturbed sleep both at night and in the morning when people were moving around. I would certainly recommend for 6 people, but the sofa bed in the lounge needs to be considered. That said it was a great find and Sharon was very helpful and obliging.

Great location, convenient to both Whistler and Blackcomb gondolas. Spacious, clean enjoyed the barbie on the balcony in the snow, and the fire. Small criticism is the open plan of the upstairs bedrooms. connecting directly with the void of the lounge. (sound travels). Would stay again.

This is a well-maintained unit in the Gables with plenty of room for our smallish group of 4. Unit was well stocked with the basics including soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, paper products, tea/coffee, and some basic spices. The open plan with loft and large windows gave the unit an airy vibe -- our one non-skier who spent a lot of time indoors found it a very comfortable place to hole up and get some reading and computer work done.

Location really can't be beat as a skiing base, IMHO -- out the back, then <5 mins to Blackcomb base (including 2 flights of stairs) and 5-10 mins to Whistler base (including crossing one street with a stoplight). Also, the location is generally quiet, since it's in a patch of woods. Parking for our 1 SUV was not an issue when we stayed in early March 2018.

We didn't experience any problems during the stay, but we did appreciate that the owner reached out on the first day to make sure everything was OK.

EXCELLENT!

My challenge was to find a great property for 5 very close to the lifts and reasonably priced - TICK! Communication from Sharon was very good prior to the trip.

Location is a 3 minute walk to the lifts, a few steps to navigate but not a big deal. Easy to go 'home' for lunch and then back out on the slopes. Also very easy 5 minute walk to the village.

Spotlessly clean. Well provisioned, in fact there was everything we needed. Felt like home as opposed to a rental. Very comfortable. Heated flooring was excellent. Loved the fireplace. Heated mud room was superb. Keyless entry made life easy. Very quiet day and night.

All up, we had a great stay, the abundance of snow made it outstanding. Would I recommend? Absolutely!!

Super convenient and well appointed

This was our first time visiting Whistler. The location of this condo could not have been better for easy access, (5 min walk) to either the base of Blackcomb or Whistler mountain. Also, the back pathway across Fitzsimmons Creek made access to lower Whistler village just as quick.

The condo itself was in great condition and easily accommodated all 6 of us. The kitchen was well appointed and easy to work in which we utilized for breakfasts and evening dinners. Sharon and Doug were very responsive regarding any question I had.

Overall, I could not have found a better, more convenient and reasonably priced accommodation for the whole family. The only item lacking in the complex was a hot tub for soaking tired bodies after a great day on two great mountains.

We had a great stay at the Gables. It is the best location for 2 families with young kids. The kids enjoyed the building toys that were available. Everything was clean, both the kitchen and bathrooms were very well stocked. Sharon and Doug were very responsive with both phone and email. We are already planning our next year's ski trip and would love to stay at this property again.

Great apartment in a great location. Everything was as described in the listing and the easy check in /access was much appreciated after a very long journey. We really appreciated the courtesy call from Sharon to check we had everything we needed and the two housekeeping visits during our stay were also a real bonus. Accommodation can be quite pricey in Whistler and you often need to compromise on location to keep costs down, but this apartment is great value for money in a lovely location - nice and close to the village and the slopes for 4 kids walking in ski boots!

We thourougly enjoyed our stay at The Gables. Everything was better than expected - the location, the space and the amenities. It was lovely that Sharon called on our first day to check we had everything we needed and advise us of when the cleaners would be coming. The drying room was great for all our ski gear. Overall the apartment was perfect for the 6 of us and we hope we'll be staying there again sometime soon.

The Gables #62 was just a fantastic apartment to stay in for our 12 night visit to Whistler. There was more than enough room for the 8 of us - and great separation as we were 2 families. The location is excellent-within easy walking distance to both Whistler and Blackcomb gondolas, lifts, shopping and night life! Awesome facilities-extremely well equipped kitchen-so many dishes, cutlery, pots and pans and serving platters and bowls. Huge oven (we cooked a huge turkey dinner!) Spacious and comfortable bedrooms. Heated and warm throughout. Loved the heated tiles in the kitchen and bathroom. Plenty of towels. Great MUD room for all our ski/boarding gear. Owners were very friendly and happy to help. We will definitely be back in the future.

Everything we expected!

We had an amazing time in Whistler and this condo was a great place to stay. The size was perfect for our family, the beds and linens were comfortable, overall the unit was very clean and well kept. The owners and maintenance were always available and responsive.

The photos gave the impression that the place was bigger, but as I said before the size was still perfect for us. There is a 5 min walk to the whistler lift and 3 min walk to the blackcomb side, something to keep in mind if traveling with children and carrying all ski equipment both ways.

We will definitely come back to Whistler in the future and this condo will surely be an option for us again.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay on our first time in Whistler. Check in was simple and the amenities and facilities were perfect. Our time skiing was part of a larger trip and it was a treat to feel so relaxed and at home. Location was easy without a car because you're in walking distance to most everything.

Sharon and Doug were thoughtful and easy to contact if we needed anything. We really enjoyed our stay and the little touches around the apartment made it so comfortable we were sad to leave.

We are repeat customers, and will be again. Perfect location, very attentive owners, and nicely appointed unit. They even decorated a small Christmas tree in the unit, which was a terrific gesture. Only possible negative is a shortage of storage space in the kitchen for non-refrigerated food, but I'm nitpicking here.

Cozy 5 nights at Whistler

Great place to stay for a large family. Convenient walk either to Blackcomb or Whistler ski lifts (a little closer to Blackcomb). Short walk to the shops and dining. Dining area seats 6-8 comfortably and a fireplace that we enjoyed at night. Kitchen is a little small but had everything we needed. Beds were warm and comfortable. We used the extra blankets in the evening in front of the fireplace.

First time in Canada and in Whistler. Sharon gave me all the information I needed before we came. The place is great: perfectly located from lifts, whistler village, restaurants, shopping...the apartment is so cosy, loved the fireplace, three bedroom very comfortable. everything you need is here: bed linens, towels, kitchen...We tried Grill&vine in Westin hotel it was great. Thanks for making this first time a great thanksgiving WE with friends!
