The living and kitchen area is open plan, with windows facing the creek and mountains, a french door leads directly to the patio.
The well equipped kitchen is bright and modern, with stainless steel appliances, and garburator. There is plenty of counter and cupboard space, making meal planning and preparation a pleasure. Basic spices, olive oil, paper towel, coffee, and Nespresso maker are included.
The entry hall has a built-in shelf and coat rack to store your gear, and I bench to rest on while you peel off your boots!
The twin/king room has a french door leading directly to the covered patio. It is separated from the rest of the suite by the lock-off hallway. You can reserve it as a either a twin room or king room. This photo shows the twin set up. The twin matresses are brand new hotel quality pillow tops.

The Queen Room has a brand new hotel quality pillow top matress and custom beddings. The headboard is made from reclaimed wood and old porch posts.
The main bathroom is directly beside the Queen room. It has a custom vanity, grohe fixtures, soaker tub/shower, and a front load stacker high-e washer dryer.
All windows and doors look out to the patio,yard and creek area. No other homes are visible from the windows so except for the grassy lawn it feels like you are in a cabin in the woods! The white noise of the creek helps create a real feeling of tranquility. The patio is a great place to sit for coffee on sunny mornings, and a great refuge from the hot afternoon sun.
Top of Mt. Fernie. The Mt. Fernie trail head is located approx. 200 yards away, from there you can hike to the summit of Mt. Fernie, or all the way to Island Lake Lodge.
This path leads from the street right to the fire pit area or the patio. Bike or hike from your door, and come back to an evening fire!

Our Two Bedroom Two Bathrrom 1000 sqft vacation suite is in a luxury chalet located in Fernie’s exclusive Alpine Trails Community. The location offers convenience and outdoor activities in a very tranquil setting. This private suite is close to all conveniences such as groceries,restaurants, beer and wine shop just a few miutes away. The Historic Downtown Fernie is only a 5 minute drive away, and Fernie Alpine resort is less than 10 minutes by car (7km).
The completely self-contained suite is a ground leve walk out with plenty of windows, a covered concrete patio, and looks out onto green space and mountains. It was designed specifically for vacation use, and is decorated with a mix of mountain contemporary and antique furnishings. It is well set up for extended stays, with a fully equiped kitchen , front-load HE washer/dryer, radiant heated floors, and plenty of storage.
A private out door hot tub with mountain and creek views is a relaxing way to end the day's activities!
The layout is ideal for families or to be shared by 2-4 adults. We welcome those seeking family fun, out door sports, and quiet enjoyment, but if partyin is what you hvae in mind please find another place to stay.
Mountain Biking, Hiking, and Snowshoe trails start right at your door! Awesome Fly Fishing on the Elk River is within steps of this property. Upon your return, simply park your gear on the patio and relax in this peaceful and private mountain view setting.

We do not have enough wonderful things to say about this rental. It is absolutely perfect! The location is wonderful, close enough to downtown Fernie to be able to get to any restaurant in just a few minutes, but far enough away to feel like you are in a quiet, peaceful paradise. Their house is on the river, so every night you fall asleep listening to the sound of rushing water. It is a basement walkout suite that walks out on to a very large patio. There is a hot tub overlooking the valley to the river, and a big fire pit area that they keep stocked with plenty of wood. Tea, coffee, olive oil, spices, and everything you would need to cook at home is provided.
Paul and Marie-Pierre are wonderful, awesome people and have done everything they can, big and small, to ensure that your stay is comfortable, inviting, and relaxed. The unit is always I mpeccably clean and beautifully decorated. Truly one of our favourite places in the world.
We will continue to visit for as long as they open their beautiful home to guests. If you do visit Fernie, be sure to check out Paul's business downtown, The Urban Settler. You will not be disappointed, I promise! He makes beautiful furniture, and the store is a haven of beautiful things, both original and curated. This is a hidden little gem. Perfect for a small family. Got everything you need in a beautiful peaceful surroundings. - The suite has two reserved parking spots. The parking is directly beside a covered staircase that leads to the patio level and entrance.The entry doors are sheltered by a 350sqft covered patio, The guest suite is a walkout style on a sloped property, with level back yard, and there is a wilderness creek setting about 70ft from the door. The yard is landscaped and features a fire-pit area and hot tub.
The large entry hallway provides plenty of space to store gear with coat hooks, built-in bench and shelf, as well as boot trays. All the floors are slate and laminate with in floor radiant heat.
The twin/king bedroom and ensuite bath are on one side of the suite, with a lock-off hall way providing privacy from the rest of the suite if desired. The suite is well suited to families or to be shared by two couples.
The main living/kitchen area has wood laminate floors with radiant heat and a french door leading directly to the patio. Windows face the woods, creek and mountains.
The open floor plan of the main living area includes a dining table, leather love seat and arm chair, and fully equiped kitchen.
At the far end of the main living area there is a linen closet, main bathroom, and Queen Room. There is also a full size stacker front load HE washer dryer located in the main bathroom.
