Northern Star is finished to the highest possible standards, with a gourmet kitchen, cherry floors, TV in all rooms and a private hot tub plus a steam shower in our master bedroom. Floor to ceiling windows offer breathtaking views of the Monashee mountains, After skiing, enjoy a revitalizing hot tub or a steam shower before retiring to the games room for a game of pool. With three floor to ceiling fireplaces our home is an ideal place to enjoy the great Canadian outdoors. Northern Star will not disappoint.

Great snow - nice accomodations

We enjoyed our stay at Northern Star. We had terrific snow while during our week there. The Chalet was quite nice, with lots of space. The issues we had were with the bunk room arrangement - definitely not for adults; the pull out sofa in game room is not a good sleeping option due to springs. We reported an bothersome odor in the master bedroom which lasted the whole time we were there. As far as we know, no one came to check on that while we were there. The ski-in does involve a walk. We certainly enjoyed the space this chalet has and the fire places were lovely.

We had a great time at Big White and had excellent conditions. There were minor issues with the chalet, but overall, we were happy. It's not truly ski-in or ski-out, both require a quick walk. The chalet is very spacious, but the quality of some of the details didn't seem to live up to the otherwise luxurious theme (eg mediocre bedding and pillows). The hot tub is not able to maintain its temperature when it is open, even without using the jets. The electronics are clearly circa 2003!

We love the Northern Star. This is our third visit and will book again. We are four couples in our 60's. Would LOVE to see a queen bed or queen bunk in the fourth bedroom. Whomever gets this room each year is the short straw! Double too small for a couple. No one wants to climb ladder (which is also broken) and the bed squeaks horribly. Usually the mattress was pulled out onto the floor. Not a great way to spend 6 nights. That is our only complaint.

Location

Located in Big White's prominent and centrally located White Forest Estates, The Northern Star offers an excellent location to all resort amenities. Our home provides a private and intimate setting, with easy access to to the runs, lifts, and the village centre.  Everything is less than a 10 minute walk away!

 

You have a few simple steps to get to the lifts from our home.
There a two different options. The walk to the lifts in the village is less than 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can ski down to Happy Valley by taking the trail located at the end of the cul de sac, over the skier’s bridge and down to Happy Valley and the Gondola base station. Take the Gondola up to the village center. From there, turn left to access the Plaza Run that leads you to the Ridge Rocket and the Snow Ghost Express lifts, or right to the Bullet Express chair lift.

Guests will be notified by email of account termination. Guests may choose to appeal their account termination. Guests may be given the chance to reconcile with the Owner as a condition of preserving or reversing their account status. Account termination prevents the Guest from booking this or any other property that uses the same web site

Amenity Terms of Use Please respect all private and common amenities of the property. Damage or excessive cleaning to any amenity will be charged to the Guest responsible.

Complaints Concerning Property Report all property complaints or obvious damage caused by previous Guests to us immediately, by phone and by email as they become evident. Serious problems should be reported with supporting photographs. We will make our best efforts to rectify problems within 24 hours of notification. Failure to notify us of property-related problems while in the property and as they become evident, will forfeit any rights or claims against us regarding property condition after your departure.
Excessive Cleaning Costs Standard departure cleaning is complimentary . Cleaning associated with defacing the property, or above the standard fees is considered property damage.
Excessive Noise Complaints of excessive noise will result in eviction without refund!. Please be considerate of your neighbours
Garbage Removal Guests are responsible for garbage removal at the time of departure.

Maximum Sleeping Capacity 9 people. Additional persons will result in immediate eviction
Missing Items Guests authorize credit card charge for replacement of missing items. When applicable, we will discuss additional charges directly with you, after which your credit card will be charged for the cost of damage or missing items.
Noise Restrictions Quiet time is 11:00pm to 7:00am. Guests may be evicted subsequent to noise complaints and will be charged for any damages resulting form the noise complaints. The outdoor hot tub area may be used after 11:00pm, but please engage only in quiet conversation after 11:00pm out of respect for our neighbouring guests.
Policy Updates Policies are subject to change without notice, however guests will be notified via e-mail of changes prior to their arrival.
Property Damage Guests authorize credit card charge for actual damages. When applicable, we will discuss additional charges directly with you, after which your credit card will be charged for the cost of damage or missing items.

Terms of Eviction The following conditions and circumstances will result in eviction from our property: smoking, excessive noise, pets, more overnight guests than permitted by owner will result in eviction. You will be evicted for excessive noise, common and private property damage, disturbing the peace.

Top Floor: Huge master bedroom with king size bed and ensuite bathroom with 2 sinks, soaker tub and separate steam shower. Bunk room with single over double bunk bed and ensuite bathroom. Twin room has 2 single beds and an ensuite bathroom.

Main Level: Open concept kitchen area with separate sitting area, kitchen, dining room, bathroom with shower, and guest bedroom with queen bed and TV.

Lower Level/Entry Level: 2 vehicle garage, large entry way and boot room with heated floors, powder room, laundry area and entertainment games room with convertiable ping pong/pool table and foosball, TV, fireplace and Queen sofa bed.

Very spacious room with a natural gas fireplace and fabulous vista featuring the Monashee Mountains from large windows. There are 3 comfortable couches, and the entertainment unit houses the flat screen TV with HDTV and Movies on Demand, VCR, Stereo, CD player and assortment of books.

Please bring your own DVD's and CD's as we do not provide them in our home.

Dining Area

Large room with stylish solid wood dining room suite for 8 people. Dining area is beside the kitchen.
