The Aspens on Blackcomb offer a variety of services to compliment your stay. There is a ski rental shop on the ground floor where you can choose ski / snowboard equipment for rent. They also offer a ski valet service, retrieving your skis in the morning & returning them at night. The complex offers common laundry services if you require laundry done. There is a bike lock up in the underground garage.
The Aspens complex is also on the free shuttle bus route, if you prefer not to walk or ski down the hill to Blackcomb Base, the bus stop is located outside the complex and will take you to both Blackcomb Base and the Whistler Village bus loop.

We are very familiar with the Aspens complex/location which is why we booked it. The 1st floor was handy to avoid elevators, but the position/view onto the street turn around was poor. There were several things broken that should have been repaired before we got there. I'm guessing they have been that way for several weeks. The bathroom fan was broken and hugely annoying. To take a shower, it is critical that the fan be on. The fan likely needs a new motor, which may not be easy to replace without cutting out some drywall in the ceiling. It has to be done, as it is hugely annoying. The privacy lock button on the inside of the bathroom was broken/missing, so you couldn't lock the bathroom. However, once I turned the knob and it locked me in. If someone had not been outside, I would have been locked inside and not been able to remove the door hinges, so would have had no option but to pound on door walls until someone called police, or I kicked the door down. I'm guessing this had never been reported to Steve, since as soon as I reported it, it was fixed.
There was also a washer leak in the kitchen faucet. An easy fix. The toilet plugged twice, which was strange, but the mgr came quickly to unclog it. There was a mini plunger left for guests, but it was useless since so small it wouldnt get any suction. If a proper plunger had been left, I would have cleared the drain myself. We we staying 4 nts, but only given 1 1/2 rolls of toilet paper. Not adequate for 4 guests, one of which had a bad cold so was using it to blow his nose.
Again, the mgt was quick to bring more TP. Overall, I would not stay in the unit again, but thought the mgt did a good job responding to our issues. We have been ski resort vacation wholesalers for 15 yrs, so are familiar with the demands on property managers. It can be a tough job.View Full Review

Having stayed at the Aspens in the summer, I decided to give it a go for a winter trip. The Aspens is perfect with it's ski valet, hot tubs and swimming pool and easy access to the ski slopes. Steve's apartment is located on the ground floor with easy access to all the amenities. We were able to Apres at Merlins, catch the Magic chair and then traverse across to the Aspens. Perfect.
