Welcome to Stoney Creek Sunpath

Sunpath is a 5 minute walk to the base of both mountains and Whistler Village... and is also a less than 5 minute walk to grocery stores, pubs, clubs and all activities that Whistler is famous for. No vehicle required at our unit. You are very close to the action, but able to enjoy peace and quiet in our corner unit at Sunpath.

 Our cozy 1 bedroom suite has a ground floor entrance, and is set against the forest...away from the street.  Unit features include:

With this property is well sought after, it is reasonable to expect some wear and tear, but simple periodic maintenance can easily take care of that. Great, quiet little condo near the village

As previous reviewers have said this was a cute, clean, one bedroom condo close to the village. Having stayed many times in Whistler, the decor and amenities are on par to most other places, but at a much better price.

We enjoyed the quiet setting toward the back of the development. It was an easy walk anywhere in the Village and was especially close to the larger of the two grocery stores. It was about a 10 minute walk to the lifts, but we took the free shuttle home and it stops right across the street. We really appreciated the large vestibule where you could store your skis,poles,boots and coats.

I agree with previous reviews that the bed is firm. I would recommend adding a memory foam or other softening mattress pad to the main bed. We also used the hide-a-bed and I would highly recommend investing in a mattress topper like is commonly purchased for dorm rooms and storing it for use when it's clear there are more than two guests staying in the unit. Hide-a-beds are rarely comfortable and this one was definitely mostly springs. Otherwise, I would strongly recommend bringing your own cushioning if you're going to be using the hide-a-bed.

All-in-all this was a great unit and the price can't be beat. You won't go wrong staying here.

Competitively priced but in need of some TLC

This unit was very reasonably priced compared to similar units in the same complex, but it is showing signs of wear and tear. There bathtub was clogged with hair and would not drain properly, and the kitchen is in need of more glasses, crockery and utensils. The development is in a good location and the pool and hot-tub are nice.

Lovely apartment and great location

Over the years, we have stayed in several different apartments in Whistler; this one is up there with the best. The recent re-furnishing has clearly brought it up to standard. We particularly liked having our own outside front door, with small (heated) lobby area to de-boot and store skis etc.

There are also not many locations in Whistler that can combine such a quiet environment, surrounded by trees, and yet be so close to the centre of the village. Walking to the lifts with boots and skis would be possible, but why bother when the free shuttle bus stop is right outside the entrance to Stoney Creek. The outdoor hot tub was also enjoyed, despite the particularly cold outside temperatures during our visit.

Highly recommended.

Whistler 2016

We have stayed at a different a condo every time we have come to Whistler. This is one that we would probably come back to. It was comfortable, convenient location, and quiet. All it needs is little TLC. Just a more thorough cleaning would go a long way. The oven, top of refrigerator, and vacuuming.

We love coming to Whistler for the skiing and the village, and this condo is close to the village walk, yet far enough away, you don't get the noise from the bar crowd at 1 a.m. in the morning. Just walk across the road to get on the bus that takes you to the lifts is so convenient. Would give it a 5 star, except for the cleanliness, we give it a 4.

Nice condo but needs a bit of attention

We enjoyed very much staying in the condo. The location in the village is great and we really enjoyed being at the ground level with easy access to the hot tub. The condo itself is nicely laid out with very decent size rooms and it feel quite bright and airy.

There were a few problems though, all fairly minor, but which made the place feel a bit run-down and neglected: - Some broken fixtures have not been repaired: broken lamp, broken glass table top, broken door on the TV stand, malfunctioning bedroom closet door - The kitchen was not properly set up for cooking: there were no oven mitts, no trivets, no salad spinner, no decent chopping blocks, and none of the knives were sharpened. The frying pan was in poor condition, and there were not enough bowls and oven dishes. This kitchen is ok for takeout meals but not to prepare meals from scratch, which is what we wanted. - No pool towels were provided - other guests from other units seemed to have striped blue and white towels for the pool, but we only had 4 bath towels.

One more thing: we loved the location of the condo unit because it was secluded and private, but we had an extremely difficult time finding it when we arrived because the maps are wrong and they don't show the correct path to it. It would be good to provide instructions in the check-in package on how to reach it.

Of all the issues I listed, the most problematic to us were the substandard kitchen. Whistler is an expensive holiday in the first place, so the only way to make it more affordable is to eat home-cooked dinners. The poorly organized kitchen made that a real challenge.

Close to everything, yet quiet and cosy

This was the perfect condo for our stay in Whistler Village. It's so close to everything; groceries, restaurants, and gondola....what more do you need!? The condo is located around the back of the Sunpath development so it is well away from all the footfall coming and going, and although Hwy 99 is visible through the trees, there is no traffic noise. No one needs to walk past the condo to access any other units so it is very private and quiet. We even spotted a squirrel rummaging about in the snow on our patio!

The floor plan provides generous space for two people, although it would be a squeeze for four. The heating was very efficient and the place was soon warm and cosy once the room thermostats were turned up, although it took me a couple of days to figure out how to turn up the heater in the bathroom(the control knob is missing, so twist the metal spigot for heat).

The kitchen has adequate equipment for basic cooking, although strangely lacking enough saucepan lids. However there is a good selection of crockery and even some condiments and things like cling-film and foil in the drawers. We didn't need to buy dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, scourers or washing detergent because all these were supplied.

The bed is comfortable and plenty of pillows and linens are supplied, we had a complimentary clean during our stay and all towels and linens were changed. There is loads of hanging space in the big built in bedroom cupboard and the lobby cupboard, so no problems drying our ski gear. The bathroom is much better than some other condos I've used in Whistler, the lighting is good and the shower really powerful. There were plenty of spare towels and toilet rolls left in the vanity unit, so we didn't need to purchase toilet tissue.

The only negatives were 2 broken kettles, a couple of blown lightbulbs, and only 1 tea towel. I called Jason who looks after the condo and he sorted all these items out instantly, even delivering the new kettle within the hour! The only thing which slightly lets the condo down is the worn carpet and tired decorations, it really needs a a bit of TLC. Although comfortable and functional, some of the furniture does need updating and replacing as it has seen better days.

That said the location of this condo is unbeatable, especially for such a reasonable price and I would not hesitate to stay again, or recommend it to others.

Great location

This unit is in a great location, a short walk to the Village Stroll, Visitor Centre and Bus Stops, but far enough away to be quiet and private. The unit itself, is towards the back of the complex. located near the main road. As we had no issues with noise, this should not influence anyone's decision. The unit itself was comfortable and well equipped. The bed was reasonably comfortable, but a little small for 2 people (we are familiar with a much larger bed) The owner was very friendly and obliging, quickly taking care of the one issue we had which was only replacing 2 light globes, and was freely available should we have any further problems, which we didn't. The complex was well maintained, with the snow and ice being cleared from the pathways on a regular basis. We were very happy with our choice of accommodation and would happily recommend it to anyone thinking of staying in Whistler.
