WELCOME TO YOUR OWN LUXURY MOUNTAIN LODGE - The MORRISEY CHALET AT SUN PEAKS

Vacation in style:  Our luxurious SKI IN stand-alone private chalet is located at the base of Mt. Morrisey!  Our chalet is adjacent to the 4th hole fairway of the Sun Peaks golf course and is set in a quiet and very private location for your vacation enjoyment.

Our private yet convienient location:  We are located on Mountain View Dr., in Mountain View Estates, one of the newer subdivisions in Sun Peaks and Morrisey Chalet is within walking distance of the village, day lodge, pro shop and Valley Trail.

Large enough for two to three families:  Our chalet sleeps 11 people (we are soon purchasing a new sofa bed to bring the number up to 13) and Morrisey Chalet is the perfect size for 2-3 families who want to enjoy a great vacation in a private mountain location, yet still close to the village of Sun Peaks.

Downstairs getaway family room:  Kids love our getaway downstairs rec and family room and the fact that they can sled right in the back yard or across the street on Mt. Morrisey (we have sleds available).

Our layout for the Morrisey Chalet:  The chalet features an upstairs queen bedroom with a huge walk-in closet and a private ensuite with slate shower.  All the living and entertaining takes place on the main floor that features the kitchen, dining room, 2 queen bedrooms, bathroom, and the spectacular great room.  The lower level family room has its own bathroom, flatscreen TV area, rec room and a get-away bedroom with two double bunks (for up to four people).

LOWER RATES FOR LONGER STAYS:  Be sure to check out our significantly lower rates for longer stays.

This includes:  10% off daily booking rate for 4 to 6 days;  20% off for 7 to 27 days;  25% off for 28 days or more.

Exception are:  during the Xmas/New Years period, where you can receive a 10% discount of the daily rate for 10 days or more.  Also during the February period there is a 10% discount off the 4 to 6 daily rate if booking for 7 days or more.

Property Description

Our street level access chalet consists of three floors, a special master suite, and a lower family rec room. The foyer leads into the living room area where you will likely spend much of your time admiring the incredible view.

Vaulted ceilings, log timber beams & columns, an amazing fireplace, and floor to ceiling windows add to the chalet atmosphere.

The dining room area also offers a great view of the mountains.

The main floor includes a laundry room, 2 bedrooms, and a main bathroom. A staircase leads to a small loft, master bedroom and a second bathroom ensuite.

A deck at the back of the house provides amazing views.

Half of the lower level family room has a bedroom, bathroom and familty and rec room.

The other half of the lower level acts as an additional owner suite which is completely separate from the rest of the house and has a separate private entry. When the owners (Kathy and Harold) stay in their suite, they ensure that privacy is maintained away from our guests.

Sleeping Areas & Beds

The sleeping area of Morrisey Chalet at Sun Peaks consists of two private queen bedrooms on the entry floor and a special getaway master queen bed suite on the top floor with a single bed and ensuite (particularly good for young families or couples who would like privacy). Also next to the lower level family rec room is a bedroom with four single bunks. This is great for those children or adults who want to enjoy their own activities near the familty rec room. For flexibility we will soon also have a pull out sofa bed couch in the family rec room, which will bring our total number capacity to 13.

Maple cabinets, granite counter tops, eating bar, new appliances. The kitchen is well outfitted with virtually everythig you will need. You'll have to bring your own food, but our kitchen is stocked with sugar, coffee, tea and spices.  Other small applicance that we have include: blender, waffle iron, popcorn maker, 2 coffee makers, wide slot toaster, and microwave.

Living Area

The centerpiece of our living room is our spectacular floor to ceiling stone fireplace that extends to the top of our 23 ft vaulted ceiling. Douglas Fir log beams and columns add an amazing rustic charm to the room. You also get a spectacular view of the the mountains and the valley.

Dining Area

Located just off the living room, our dining room allows enough room for up to 10 guests at our large dining table and three more at the adjacent counter bar area.

Custom designed - log beams - amazing views - extensive use of natural stone - comfortable beds and furniture - expansive 30 ft long deck - private hot tub - a babbling brook just off the backyard in the summer time. Ski right off Mt. Morrisey on "Back In Time" run to right across the street - 50 ft to the front door.

Location

Morrisey Chalet at Sun Peaks is located on Mountain View Drive, within Mountain View Estates, one of the newer subdivisions in Sun Peaks. Located at the base of Mt. Morrisey, we overlook the 4th hole fairway and have spectacular views of Sun Dance and Tod Mountain. We are SKI IN from a number of runs off of Mt Morrisey (including two new runs).  You can ski out down to the Burfield connector from the end of the street about 200m away. There is also a resort bus system which takes you to the village every half hour.

The street is relatively undeveloped at this point so your stay will be peaceful and serene. In the summertime, a small stream flows near the back of the property and adds even more natural charm to the setting.

The drive the village is about one minute where you will find parking at the day lodge. Walking will take you about 12 minutes on nice paved paths along the Sun Peaks golf course.

Policies

RESERVATION POLICY: 25% deposit due upon booking. Balance due 45 days prior to arrival.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Between 2 days from booking & 45 days prior to arrival, the deposit of the 1st night will be kept plus 4% for processing fees. Inside 45 days of arrival, full payment will be not be refunded unless another party booksat  that time. 

We recommend that you obtain trip insurance in cover yourself in case you need to cancel your trip for any reason.

DAMAGE DEPOSIT:  A credit for $400 is due before your arrival as a deposit against damage to the chalet, missing items, and/or excessive cleaning charges. Deposit will be refunded within 4 days of stay. 

CHALET GUIDELINES:  

NO SMOKING & NO PETS please.  

MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PEOPLE:  No more than the max number of people for the chalet - 13 Total.  

We acknowledge that Sun Peaks is a resort community and we encourage our guests to get the most out of their experiences. We would ask that you respect our house and our neighbors by keeping outside noise down between 11pm and 8am and taking it inside the house - with windows closed to enjoy the rest of your evening. 



Suitability & Eligibility Policies

Suitable For:
Adults - Min Age to Stay: 21 21 is the minimum age for renting Morrisey Chalet. However those younger are also welcome. As we mention below this is not a party house, however we do want you to have fun and have a great experience here and we encourage young people of all ages. We ask you to treat our house as you would your family's place and enjoy the many amenities and experiences this private mountain chalet has to offer at Sun Peaks.
Babies, Kids & Teens We encourage families with younger children to enjoy our Morrisey Chalet at Sun Peaks
Celebrations & Special Events Celebrations and special events which are well planned and responsibly organized and managed are encouraged. It is a wonderful space with our large great room and expansive deck. And by treating our place as yours, your experience at Morrisey Chalet will be memorable. Morrisey Chalet is not a party house. It is a meeting place for family and friends to enjoy our dream home in the mountains. However we do acknowledge that Sun Peaks is a resort community and we encourage our guests to get the most out of their experiences. We would ask that you respect our house and our neighbors by keeping outside noise down between 11pm and 8am and taking it inside the house - with windows closed to enjoy the rest of your evening.
Long Term Renters (Monthly) We offer a 20% discount off the normal rate for seven days or more booked (10% during the xmas/new years holidays. For 28 days or more we over a 25% discount based on the normal rate for the days booked.
No Smoking Inside - Smoking Outside Permitted It is OK to smoke outside on the property, however trash and cigarette butts are not acceptable, please...
Non-Smokers Only NO SMOKING.
People with Restricted Mobility We have one step at the first of our property to enter the middle (main) floor of Morrisey Chalet. Once inside, most all of the amenities are available on this floor including two bedrooms, kitchen, dining, living, bathroom and deck. Also see the description about on wheelchair access. We would hope we could accommodate based on some limitations. Our son has a disability so we certainly have understanding of accommodations that may be needed.
Seniors
Wheelchairs In some circumstances, there is a possibility to accommodate. There is one step from the flat driveway to the main floor which has two queen beds and a bathroom with a bathtub/shower. A platform can be placed within the bathtub as well as a rail/hand hold. We are open to discussion and would hope we could accommodate.

Reservation & Cancellation Policies

Policies:
Cancellations Made by Guests All payments are non-refundable except if the booking can be replaced. Refunds or portions thereof may be refunded based on number of nights rebooked. Refund subject to 4% fee to cover credit processing fees.

Delayed Arrivals Sorry, but we are unable to refund due to delayed arrivals.
Guest Account Termination The Owner or their Contact reserve the right to request permanent Guest account inactivation from this web sites technical administrators in the event of one or more of the following Guest actions: intentional property policy violation causing material damage or fines, Guest misrepresentation and/or fraud, intentionally defacing or damaging public or private property, breaking laws and bylaws, theft, public indecency, harassment, causing bodily or emotional harm & disturbing the peace after repetitive warnings. Guests will be notified by email of account termination. Guests may choose to appeal their account termination. Guests may be given the chance to reconcile with the Owner as a condition of preserving or reversing their account status. Account termination prevents the Guest from booking this or any other property that uses the same web site

Reservations may be cancelled up to a maximum of 48 hours from the time the ineligible Guest made the booking. Guests will be issued a refund by personal cheque. Refunds will be adjusted for any payment processing expenses
Late Reservation Payments Failure to pay by due date will result in cancellation without deposit refund. A courtesy email will be sent before this happens.
Privacy The Owner, their booking Contact and this web sites technical administrators agree to not sell, refer, rent or divulge to any third parties the names or personal information of their Guests without prior written consent from the Guests, except under force of law, or for law enforcement purposes relating to policy and property violation. The Owner and their booking Contact also agree to not use Guest personal information for any reason other than its original intended purpose without written consent from the Guests. Guest Stay Policies

Morrisey Chalet at Sun Peaks is a meeting place for family and friends to enjoy our dream home in the mountains. We do acknowledge that Sun Peaks is a resort community and we encourage our guests to get the most out of their experiences. In order to ensure the best possible experiences are achieved in staying at Morrisey Chalet, there are a few items below which encourage responsible and enjoyable use of the chalet.

Policies:
Check-In Time 4:00 pm.
Check-Out Time 10:00 am sharp. The check out time is firm as our cleaners will access the unit right at 10am and in winter there can often be close turn around times for the next guests in Morissey Chalet.
Complaints Concerning Property Report all property complaints or obvious damage caused by previous Guests to us immediately, by phone and by email as they become evident. Serious problems should be reported with supporting photographs. We will make our best efforts to rectify problems within 24 hours of notification. Failure to notify us of property-related problems while in the property and as they become evident, will forfeit any rights or claims against us regarding property condition after your departure.
Excessive Cleaning Costs Will be deducted from damage deposit if post stay cleanup is deemed excessive.
Excessive Noise Quiet hours (especially for outside in the hot tub or on the deck) between 11pm and 8am please. Please take things inside after 11pm and if less quiet, please ensure windows are closed during this period.
Forgotten Items by Guest Please make every effort to check over your personal items. We do not have a service to send forgotten items back to guests.
Garbage Removal There will be a free garbage service twice per week. Please place garbage in bags in the laundry room and these will be picked up. Place recycled items in separate bags.
Hot Tub The private hot tub is for use between 8:00am and 11:00pm due to potential noise issues. If using later, it is of utmost importance to keep quiet (see excessive noise comments below). Please keep the hot tub free of trash and only use plastic drink containers (available in the kitchen). No glass items are allowed. Also please make every effort not to spill items in the hot tub as this may result in a major clean-up effort if the water quality has been affected. Please make sure the cover is placed back on the tub to keep the heat in and please don't change the temperature. During your stay, the hot tub will be checked on a daily basis and if you would like a different temperature, please indicate by emailing Alpine Property Services at alpineservices4u@telus.net.
Housekeeping Full housekeeping service is completed after your departure. Light housekeeping during your stay is appreciated. It would be helpful if you could place your sheets and towels in the laundry room at the end of your stay. If dishes are not done, please place dirty dishes in the dishwasher and run the dishwasher upon you leaving the chalet. Please take all your food items with you when you leave. Either take your recyclables or leave a separate bag in the laundry room. If you leave bottles or cans in a bag for recycling, proceeds are donated to Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks.
Internet Availability & Usage Free internet is available during your stay. Please be considerate and not having excessive downloads of data. Normal moderate usage is greatly appreciated.
Liability Guests assume all liability during their stay in Sun Peaks.
Locking Door Please lock all doors (and close all windows) following check out and when out of Morrisey Chalet. Though Sun Peaks is normally a very safe place, during your stay, please make sure the doors and windows are locked when you are away from the chalet.
Maintenance Emergencies Please call Alpine Property Services at 250-319-5680 or email at alpineservices4u@telus.net (for less urgent issues). A secondary contact is Kathy at 250-574-7521 (however try Alpine and they will get back to you shortly).

Missing Items Please treat our Morrisey Chalet with respect and as best you can, place things back in their original locations. An inventory is taken and missing items will be deducted from the damage deposit. ie. Missing towels, decor items, kitchen items
Noise Restrictions Quite hours between 11pm and 8am. Please be considerate of other tenants in the suite below in the building and our friendly neighbours. Again, please take your activities inside after 11pm and if less quiet, please ensure windows are closed during this period.
Parking & Ticketing There is ample parking for 3-4 vehicles. Please park your vehicles on the driveway directly in front of the garage and also to the right of the driveway. The owners suite (below to the left with a separate entrance) will be occupied from time to time and it would be greatly appreciated if spaces to the left of the driveway were left open.

Property Damage Will be charged back to guests if property is damaged during stay.

Ski & Snowboard Gear Storage Ski and snowboard gear storage is available inside the entrance door to Morrisey Chalet. Please take care in ensuring wet items are placed above the mats, and items are carefully hung in the slots provided.
Terms of Eviction We reserve the right to evict within 12 hours notice should we receive 2 or more compliants and should those complaints contravene our stated policies. Please note there are bi-laws in place at Sun Peaks Municipality which includes potential fines based on complaints regarding excessive noise or irresponsible behaviour. This being said, we appreciate that this is a resort community and we most certainly want you to enjoy your stay. So moderate behaviour is greatly appreciated.

How Far is the village from Morrisey Chalet?

How Far is the village from Morrisey Chalet? The village is a 2 min. car ride and roughly a 12 minute walk along a beautiful paved trail (plowed in winter) adjacent to the Sun Peaks golf course.

Ski In / Ski Out?

Can I ski in and out of your property? While a new chair will be built about 100m from the chalet, for now you'll have to drive max. 2 min to the day lodge. You can also ski and walk about 5 minutes to the trail to the Burfield chair. However, you can ski in off Mt Morrisey to right across the street from the chalet off the "Fairways Ski-Back/Home Run" run, which is rated "Green" for easy run. Alternately, you can ski down "Back In Time" or choose one of the two new amazing runs "Lint Trap" and "Tumble Dry" (our favourite), which are rated more difficult.

The house was great but I have contacted the owner and Don Fehst about my security deposit being returned but both have not replied. We always leave the places we stay in very clean and our three week stay we did our own cleaning, we leave it like it was our own home.

The house was great, plenty of room we had 9 staying,7 of the 9 could walk to the bus pick-up 2 with knee problems found it hard, ski in was pretty good, it was a nice walk to the village (15mins),need a car if staying for extended time to pick up food etc. The bedrooms were find just needed a few more coathangers.

The chalet's beds were very uncomfortable and I wouldn't return myself for that reason. 6 days on a board wreak's pain on the body.

I was impressed with fast and straight forward booking, very good information for traveling and all other info you need to know when you come to a new place( restaurants, ski shops , groceries shop. rec. centres , doctors,etc.) Chalet was very nice, clean, and spacious. Jacuzzi was a treat after hard day of skiing.Parking in a garage and lots of parking in a centre eliminated remotness.It is a great place for winter family and friends vacation.Only thing what I would suggest,let people know after taking safety deposit and vacation ends when and how is it going to be returned.
