Ideally located about a 5 minute walk to Elk Chair and just far enough away from the noise of snowmaking machines and groomers for a great night's sleep. At the end of the day or for lunch you can ski back down the trail for a quick 30 second walk back for a hot tub soak.

In the summer the river is a five minute drive away for fishing. Biking and hiking trails are minutes away.

The ski village is about a five minute walk for restaurants, groceries and ski tickets.

Suitability & Eligibility Policies

Normal cleaning charges are included in the rental fee.  However, clients are to leave the chalet reasonably clean.  Microwave and ovens wiped clean, dishes loaded in dishwasher and dishwasher turned on with no dirty dishes outside of the dishwasher, all garbage bagged and either placed in the garage or preferrably put in the garbage bins across the street. Recyling in the garage recycling bins. No major spills or food debris left on walls, counters, floors, carpet, oven, microwave, hot tub or BBQ.  It is expected that clients will not wear outdoor footwear inside the condo. Marks or stains on the floors, carpet or walls will be assessed an additional cleaning or repair charge at the discretion of the owners.  Failure to leave the chalet reasonably clean meeting the conditions above will be assessed an additional cleaning charge at the discretion of the owner.  By renting this unit renters agree to accept cleaning or damage deposit charges levied by the owners.  Extra cleaning charges will either be applied to the credit card used to rent the chalet or to the damage deposit or both at the discretion of the owners.

Groups Renting Multiple Properties We don't allow large groups beyond our sleeping capacity to stay or use our property for any purpose including all types of gatherings.
People with Restricted Mobility Property access and interior not suitable for persons of restricted mobility.
Pets No pets allowed. No exceptions. Guest liable for costs of special cleaning, including carpets, if housekeeping staff detect any presence of pets in the property.
Smoking Inside Permitted No smoking is allowed inside or outside our property.. If evidence of smoking guests liable for costs of special cleaning including rugs, linens and window dressings.
Subleased Tenants Subleasing to other tenants not permitted.

Reservation & Cancellation Policies

Cancellations Made by Guests All payments are non-refundable. Refunds will be issued for re-booked dates at the re-booked price and are subject to a 4% cancellation fee. Travel insurance is recommended to protect yourself against any unexpected events involving your lodging, flights or vacation-related products.

Delivery of Instructions and Access Information Check-in and arrival instructions will be emailed upon balance payment.
Guest Account Termination The Owner or their Contact reserve the right to request permanent Guest account inactivation from this web sites technical administrators in the event of one or more of the following Guest actions: intentional property policy violation causing material damage or fines, Guest misrepresentation and/or fraud, intentionally defacing or damaging public or private property, breaking laws and bylaws, theft, public indecency, harassment, causing bodily or emotional harm & disturbing the peace after repetitive warnings. Guests will be notified by email of account termination. Guests may choose to appeal their account termination. Guests may be given the chance to reconcile with the Owner as a condition of preserving or reversing their account status. Account termination prevents the Guest from booking this or any other property that uses the same web site
Ineligible Guests: 24 Hour Reservation Reversal The Owner or their Contact reserves the right to cancel reservations made by, and refuse business to: Guests who do not meet the policies published in this property's Policies Table at the time of booking and past Guests known to have : intentionally violated rental property policies, damaged and/or defaced rental properties through intentionally destructive and/or negligent behavior, engaged in theft, broken local bylaws and laws, committed fraud or who misrepresented themselves, and Guests who have caused bodily or emotional harm to any third parties. Reservations may be cancelled up to a maximum of 48 hours from the time the ineligible Guest made the booking. Guests will be issued a refund by personal cheque. Complaints Concerning Property Report all property complaints or obvious damage caused by previous Guests to us immediately, by phone and by email as they become evident. Serious problems should be reported with supporting photographs. We will make our best efforts to rectify problems within 24 hours of notification. Failure to notify us of property-related problems while in the property and as they become evident, will forfeit any rights or claims against us regarding property condition after your departure.
Excessive Cleaning Costs Guests authorize a credit card charge for excessive cleaning costs.
Excessive Noise Quiet time is 10 pm. Hot tub closes at 9 pm FIRM until 10 am. Please note that voices travel very easily from the hot tub. Kindly respect our neighbors. Ensure there is no excessive abusive drinking, lewd behavior or climbing on structure, or trees.
Garbage Removal Guests are responsible for removing garbage to the disposal area. Disposal bins are located across the street.
Housekeeping Provided before arrival and after departure. Additional housekeeping may be available on request at your expense.
Internet Availability & Usage Illegal downloads forbidden. Should we receive notification that such activity has occurred, the Guest responsible will be immediately evicted and charged for damages.
Liability We are excluded from liability for personal bodily injury in our home, while in transit to, or while on the property. We assume no responsibility for valuables and personal items during your stay.
Locking Door Guests are required to securely lock all doors and entrances when they are not in the unit or upon departure.
Maintenance Emergencies Emergency contacts provided upon balance payment.

Missing Items Guests authorize a credit card charge for missing, damaged or broken items.
Noise Restrictions Please no excessive noise after 10pm. You will be fined by security if your party and your guests disrupt other guests.

Property Damage By renting this property guest agrees to all policies and conditions listed and assumes responsibility to pay for all damage incurred to the property during stay. Please remove outdoor footwear upon entering - slippers provided at front entrance. Please store all ski boots and gear are in the garage entry area. Please use garage entry and store boots and equipment there. Remember all the things you need before you put your boots on.
Rental Accommodation Zoning We are zoned for nightly rentals.
Ski & Snowboard Gear Storage Storage for equipment. clothing and a boot dryer is set up in the garage. Damage or excessive cleaning to the property due to your equipment will result in extra charges.
Terms of Eviction We anticipate that you will enjoy our home and treat it and our neighbors with respect. However, guest will be evicted for excessive noise, common or private property damage or threat of damage, disturbing the peace, excess of maximum sleeping capacity (8), or violation of any of our policies. You will not receive a refund! The occupied owner's suite is the attached lower level suite.

About Us

We have skied all over North America and I grew up in the town of Banff.  However, no where we have skied matches Fernie for snow, terrain, people and laid back lifesyle.  We love this place, please treat it with kindness.  We reside in the separate lower unit when the lodge is rented.  If there are any problems, questions or you are looking for information on the secret stashes of powder, just knock on the lower level outside door and we will help you out.

used the condo for a fishing vacation. Condo is superbly located to take in the Fernie area. Haven't booked it for skiing yet but plan to do so this winter. The unit is very clean and very well cared for. You really can't go wrong by by booking this condo, can easily accomidate a family of 8 but works for couples too.

An amazing place to stay on the hill in fernie. A very relaxing stay. The kitchen was superb and easy access to and from the hill made the stay enjoyable for both skiing and biking vacations. I have stayed here multiple times in both summer and winter seasons and will go again.

My wife and I have stayed at Bearpaw 201 to ski and fly fish over the past 3 years. Great place, comfortable rooms and furniture. Close to all the attractions and outdoor activities of Fernie and surrounding area. Overall a wonderful experience.

Spacious,quality furnishing.An outdoor hottub (conveniently on the balcony) to soothe aching muscles after an exhilerating day on the ski slopes, hiking or bike trails, fishing, or golf course. A short walk to chairlifts, (ski back) to a general store,liquor store,restaurants, pubs and entertainment.

Perfect location 5 minutes to Elk chairlift. We loved downhill skiing in the morning,skiing back to the chalet for lunch, having a relaxing hot tub and then going back out for a xc ski. Dinner, a walk afterwards,followed by a restful sleep and then doing it all over again the next day. Most memorable was the early morning call of "Everybody out of bed! It's a Fernie powder day!" Fernie powder is legendary. This is a beautiful timberframe building with wonderful architectural details. The timbers in the vaulted ceiling are a work of art. The wide plank pine floors are beautiful. Very nice details throughout. There is good separation of the bedrooms/living areas since they are on different levels. Lots of room for ski gear storage. Kitchen seats 8 comfortably. Really like a home away from home, making for a very relaxing vacation. We would definitely stay here again.
