Welcome to Beachside Garden B & B (Perfect Hideaway), the Peony Room

Opened in January, 2011, Beachside Garden Bed & Breakfast is custom-built on a one-acre exquisitely landscaped walk-on beach waterfront property in Evening Cove, beautiful Yellow Point neighborhood on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada . Newly constructed in 2010, our Bed & Breakfast is separated from, but connected to the residence. Our guests can choose to mingle with us, or remain as private as preferred.

The Bed & Breakfast is self-contained with dining room, lounge, microwave & bar fridge, BBQ & picnic area and wireless internet access. It is wheelchair accessible.  Each bedroom unit has ocean view, queen bed, en-suite bathroom, TV, and individual control heating/air-conditioning; designed for absolute comfort.

Exquisite & tranquil, both gardens provide year-round color & interest. The front garden offers vantage point to watch bald eagles, seals, sea otters, the occasional killer whales and other sea birds and marine life; or to simply enjoy the breathtaking view. The back garden is a place for relaxation & enjoyment. The extensive variety of ornamental trees, flowering shrubs and perennials, carefully selected, combined and placed, are real treats for the senses; definitely a gardener’s delight, and Shangri-La for birds and butterflies. The gardens attract many neighbors, and we have requests to use them for wedding photos. Indeed, our B & B would be a perfect place for your wedding night, or to get ready for your big day. We can arrange for a top notch professional photographer for you if needed.

The sheltered walk-on beach (Elliott Beach) is paradise for boaters, kayakers, scuba divers, snorkelers, swimmers and sunbathers. Other fun activities in the Evening Cove and Ladysmith Harbor are fishing, crab netting, clam digging and oyster harvesting – you can always cook your catch of the day on the BBQ available. We have direct beach access from the B & B. The ocean water is known to be one of the warmest around Vancouver Island or north of San Francisco. The ocean view is spectacular with the neighboring mountain and the Gulf Islands. This is a place to unwind, relax and rejuvenate. Our place is a ‘Perfect Hideaway’, a place to hide away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, far from the maddening crowd!

Beachside Garden Bed & Breakfast is located in peaceful Evening Cove, on the east side of Ladysmith Harbour, in beautiful Yellow Point area.

30 minutes from Departure Bay BC Ferry terminal
20 minutes from Duke Point BC Ferry terminal
15 minutes from Nanaimo Airport

On Island Highway (Highway 1) heading south, pass Nanaimo Airport, pass Cedar Road, left turn onto Brenton Page Road. Continue onto Shell Beach Road; go to the very end, turn right on Elliott Way, and right onto Fearn Way.  Our B & B is on the left, with double gates.

On Island Highway (Highway 1) heading north, just pass the town of Ladysmith, pass the Husky gas station, right turn onto Brenton Page Road. Continue onto Shell Beach Road; go to the very end, turn right on Elliott Way, and right onto Fearn Way.  Our B & B is on the left, with double gates.

Reservation & Cancellation Policies

Cancellations Made by Guests A minimum of 7 days notice or 1 night charge. A 5% cancellation fees is charged to cover credit card charge and administration cost. For late cancellation, the deposit, minus 5 % cancellation fees, will only be returned if we are able to fill the room with another guest.

Guests will be notified by email of account termination. Guests may choose to appeal their account termination. Guests may be given the chance to reconcile with the Owner as a condition of preserving or reversing their account status. Ineligible Guests Reservation Reversal The Owner or their Contact reserves the right to cancel reservations made by, and refuse business to: Guests who do not meet the policies published in this property's Policies Table at the time of booking and past Guests known to have : intentionally violated rental property policies, damaged and/or defaced rental properties through intentionally destructive and/or negligent behavior, engaged in theft, broken local bylaws and laws, committed fraud or who misrepresented themselves, and Guests who have caused bodily or emotional harm to any third parties. Reservations may be cancelled up to a maximum of 48 hours from the time the ineligible Guest made the booking. Guests will be issued a refund by personal cheque. Refunds will be adjusted for any payment processing expenses

Complaints Concerning Property Report all property complaints or obvious damage caused by previous Guests to us immediately, by phone and by email as they become evident. Serious problems should be reported with supporting photographs. We will make our best efforts to rectify problems within 24 hours of notification. Failure to notify us of property-related problems while in the property and as they become evident, will forfeit any rights or claims against us regarding property condition after your departure.
Excessive Noise
Housekeeping Complimentary - before and after stay. Guest may be charged for excessive dirt requiring additional housekeeping cost and time.
Maintenance Emergencies Hosts on site. Complete list of emergency contact is provided to guests
Maximum Sleeping Capacity 2 people. Only one queen bed in each room.
Property Damage Guests will pay for all damages incurred during their staystaying. Damages includes, but not limited to, private and common property damages, theft, and excessive dirt requiring extensive cleaning.
