You may have heard of the powder snow in Niseko - now go experience it! There is more of it, and it is drier than almost anywhere on the planet. Experience skiing through silver-birch woods in waist-deep powder. Then come home to our log fire and western comfort.

Our house is a large house made entirely of whole cedar logs. This gives us a beautiful warm interior and characterful exterior.

There are three floors to give you lots of space. The lower floor has a huge integral garage with warm ski and boot store-room and leads into the main bathroom area, so you can keep out of the snow when you want.

The western kitchen, Wi-Fi, phone and cable TV make your stay a real luxury! Come experience Japan with western comforts.

We welcome children and pets, as we are surrounded by open land and woodland which is a paradise for walking and playing.

 Property Description

The house has 3 floors. The basement level is a large garage with remote auto-doors - handy when there is a blizzard! Off the garage is the ski store and boiler room, as well as internal double doors to the boot store and main bathroom area with 2 shower/dressing rooms, 2 toilets and 3 sinks set in a beautiful piece of solid wood.

A hand-carved staircase lead up to the front door and entry lobby. This leads into the living-dining room with TV, leather sofas, glass dining table and log stove. The kitchen is small but perfectly equipped with hob, oven, fridge/freezer and even a tiny dishwasher! Also in this floor is the rear living-room with leather sofa and double sofa-bed. At the front is the huge deck, with quality outdoor sofas (there are plenty of down duvets). The unobstructed view is of Mt. Yotei, our friendly volcano that brings all the snow.

Upstairs on the top floor are 3 bedrooms The two front bedrooms share a large deck with teak recliners facing Mt Yotei. Check out the pictures! Also on the top floor are a  shower room and separate toilet.

All this is made of whole cedar logs.

The kitchen is equipped for cooking western food. There is a fridge/freezer, gas grill, oven and hob as well as a microwave, dishwasher and kettle.

You come in through the entry lobby with double doors through to the living-room. There are 2 leather sofas and a leather armchair. The log stove keeps you warm, and there is a supply of logs. There is a HD LCD TV with cable as well as wi-fi and phone. The front deck has 3 quality outdoor sofas with down duvets.

There is a  glass dining table for 6 with new matching crockery & cutlery. The kitchen is equipped for cooking western food.

Kabayama is located just 800 meters from the nearest ski lift and ski school, and 900 meters from the central traffic lights in Niseko-Hirafu.

The bus runs right in front of the drive with the stop 50 meters away.

Right across the road is a Mongolian Yurt restaurant ('The Gentem') and next door is a pension with cafe in a loghouse 'Hale').

The perfect place to spend our Christmas in the snow

This was our second Christmas in a row in Kabayama log house, and after last time, we didn't even stop to think for a moment where we would go this year. The house can comfortably sleep 6, with plenty of living and chillout areas for everyone and lots of bathrooms, but for 2 of us it was still very cosy. What was key for us was having somewhere walking distance to the lifts but not in the middle of Hirafu, and a good kitchen. We got this and much more, with comfortable beds, lots of room for ski gear, TV with english channels, and the luxury of service in having the front of the house cleared of the mountains of snow every day! Also the management company which runs the house dealt with any problems or questions that we had incredibly fast, so we are totally satisfied all-round. We love coming to Kabayama Log House and we hope to stay here as long as we keep coming to Hirafu. Thanks for a great stay.
