As you enter from the foyer into our one bedroom home, this is the room that greets you. Relax in the dining room, looking over the sunken living room. The view is onto our patio and the towering Douglas Firs. It's peaceful, quiet and private.

As you enter, look left. Still on the same level as the dining room, this kitchen is an efficient, fully functional cooking zone. It features full size appliances (new stove and fridge) and is stocked with basics. For those who cook to relax and connect, look no further. A great place for apres drinks and snacks, or cook the whole dinner.

Step down 2 steps into the living room. A cosy fire, the trees (and snow outside in the winter!), quiet and private. This is an open concept living area, and the kitchen and dining room are in this space. There is lots of firewood on the patio for warm, cosy evenings. The living room has a 40 inch flat screen TV with HD signal that is not shown in this picture. The pull out couch with queen size mattress and down comforter is in the living room. There is a double closet for storage on the higher level.

The Bedroom with queen bed. This bed has a down comforter and a good mattress, with individual pocket coils, ensuring you feel well rested when you get up in the morning. This room has a double closet.

The bathroom is located between the dining room and bedroom.

This is Fitzsimmons Creek, just behind The Gables. Look above the bridge and you see the Excalibur Gondola, which goes from Whistler Village up Blackcomb Mountain. Just behind the gondola are the lower slopes of Whistler Mountain. But wait till you see the alpine!

This area is behind The Gables. On the right is the Covered Bridge, one of the landmarks of the parks in Whistler. You can take this 5 minute walk into the Village.

This is a sitting area beside Fitzsimmons Creek and the Covered Bridge. This is a lovely, warm, relaxing spot on a sunny day in spring, summer or fall, and even on a sunny warm winter day.

 Property Description

The townhouse is a large one bedroom on the ground floor and is on one level. You enter into the foyer, which is a separate room for storing skis, gear and outerwear, as well as wet gear. The kitchen, dining and living room are open concept. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped whether you just eat breakfast there or cook up a storm. The sunken living room is down 2 steps, with a wood burning fireplace, and one wall of windows looking out onto towering Douglas Firs, one of the symbols of Canada's west coast. You step out onto a 10 x 12 patio. The dining area is a large and separate area and seats 4 very comfortably with a large table. The bedroom has an excellent queen bed and picture window. A 4 piece bath with jetted (jacuzzi) tub completes the townhouse.

800 pocket coil Beautyrest pillow top queen bed; down duvet. This is an excellent bed. Bedroom has double closet and large picture window.

Living Room

Queen sofa bed with 7 inch (18 cm) mattress; down duvet. Double closet near dining room is available for guests sleeping in the living room. You get the TV and fireplace in bed! Great for kids.

Location

The Gables is the perfect location! Situated between the Village and Upper Village, it is 2 minutes from all skiing, the bike park, restaurants and shops.

In the winter it is a 2 minute walk to up or download all lifts on both mountains, and to all lessons, rentals and guest services, the Tube Park and night skiing.

In the summer, it is a short 1 minute ride across the road to the Bike Park.

The grocery and liquor store are a short walk into the Village.

The Gables are situated beside Fitzsimmons Creek and Park. It is quiet and private, yet convenient to everything. You can park the car and walk!

In the summer, The Gables is right on the Valley Trail, which takes you into the Village, as well as connecting onto an extensive trail system throughout Whistler. The gondola for sightseeing and the bike park are 2 minutes away. Two golf courses are within walking distance. The skateboard park is on the other side of the creek. Swimming at Lost Lake is a 15 minute walk along the Valley Trail, so there is no need to jockey for parking.

For conference goers, the Telus Whistler Conference Centre is a 5 minute walk into the Village, or the Fairmont Chateau Whistler is a 5 minute walk to the Upper Village.

We live in Squamish, just south of Whistler, with our fearless skier son Stefan. I moved here in 1991 from Toronto to escape the city, and to live closer to a great ski hill and resort! We love the mountains and all the activities available to us in the Sea to Sky Corridor.
