Located in the heart of the Blaeberry Valley, just west of Golden, our Lodge is an individually designed and crafted log home, built with logs from the Blaeberry.
With beautiful views of the mountain ranges, under the 'watchful eye' of Goat Mountain, close to the Rocky Mountain Buffalo Ranch and Wolf Center, as well as being just a short drive to the town of Golden and the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, Kicking Horse Kabins really is the perfect location for your great escape.
The lodge itself is lavishly decorated throughout, with the thought of your comfort uppermost in our minds. We do 'think we have thought of everything' for your stay. The furniture is high quality, the features are fantastic, and the final touches are the best - large hot tub, full size BBQ, HD TV and Satellite channels (lots of them too!).
With exclusive use of the beautifully prepared 3 bedroom lodge, perfect for couples, families or small groups, you have the option of a self catering vacation, or you can arrange for a fantastic dining experience by our trained and experienced chef - all you have to do is make the choice!

You will have use of the entire lodge, and all bedrooms and bathrooms will be made available to you during your stay, irrespective of the number of you in the group.
With that in mind, and the fact that we have kept our rates extremely competitive, we do require a minimum stay with us of 2 nights.

A luxury 1200 sq ft, 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom property, on two floors. A log home giving a natural feel from the logs felled from just 4km away in the Blaeberry to the locally milled pine tongue and groove ceilings and wooden floors throughout, and open wooden staircase and bannisters.
The ground floor is an open living area, with a very spacious feel. A fully equipped hand crafted kitchen, made by a local cabinet maker, is seperated from the dining area with a breakfast bar with 4 cast iron 'mountain style' stools.
The dining area, is furnished with a high quality yew dining table and chairs, with comfortable seating for 8 people, with views from the patio doors of Goat mountain and the surrounding area.
The open lounge is furnished with high quality and comfortable log furniture, propane fire place and HD TV and satellite with multi region DVD player and music center.
Upstairs there are 3 spacious bedrooms with options of King size or single beds.
There is a full bathroom upstairs finished with indian slate and a shower room downstairs finished to the same high quality.
The deck outside houses a 7 seater hot tub and large gas BBQ.

The kitchen is equipped even for the most discerning of cooks, with equipment to prepare anything from simple to complex meals, whilst your friends and family can sit at the breakfast bar and keep you company whilst you cook.
However, we're please to be able to offer you the 'no cook' option. Let us come and cook your meal(s) for you, either every night, or just one special night. A wonderful 3 course meal can be prepared, served and then cleared up, by our trained chef, whilst you just relax!
Additionally, you can pre-order a self cook home meal - we'll deliver to your lodge from a choice of wonderful home cooked meals, for you to just heat and serve at your leisure.

The comfortable living area welcomes you for cosy evenings in. The propane fireplace, satellite HDTV (with heaps of channels), multi-region DVD player (with lots of free films), is a perfect end to your day. Alternatively, listen to your own music from your ipod in the ipod docking station center or CD's on the music player.
A quality yew dining table comfortably seats 6-8 people.
Additionally the breakfast bar area seats 4 on mountain style stools.
We have put as much as we can think of in the lodge, to enable you to have a great stay - from a Panasonic HDTV, free and fully loaded satellite tv, DVD player with free films available, to an iPod docking station for your evenings entertainment.
There is of course the essential hot tub outside on the deck, so after a day's activities you can relax in the private 7 seater Beachcomber hot tub whilst looking at the spectacular mountain views, in the private garden of the lodge.
Also on the deck there is a very large BBQ, so your dinner can be cooking whilst you soak! Additionally there's a full size oven in the fully equipped kitchen.
However, if you just fancy a night off from cooking, or have a particular celebration, don't forget we can come in and provide a fantastic 3 course meal, finished with home made chocolates for that extra special evening, at great prices. We cook, serve and clear up afterwards, all you have to do is relax and enjoy the 'restaurant at home' experience!
The lodge is on an acre of private gardens, surrounded by stunning mountain views in a very quiet location - what more could you want!

We are surrounded by wonderful views of the Rocky and Purcell Mountains, opposite the Rocky Mountain Buffalo Ranch and walking distance from the Wildlife Wolf Center there is everything here for your quiet mountain getaway.
You can take a short drive to the beautiful Thompson Falls and have a picnic, or go into town for whitewater rafting down the Kicking Horse River.
In the winter, it is around 25 minutes to the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort for the best champagne powder skiing and snowboarding.

We operate a no smoking policy. If guests wish to smoke outside, then they may do so, provided they respectfully dispose of the cigarette ends safely and cleanly.
We have put every effort into providing vacation accommodation to a very high standard, therefore we ask that guests treat the lodge in respectful manner.
the lodge is set up for up to 6 guests, although we can accommodate up to 2 additional guests, by providing towels, bathrobes, slippers and linen for them to sleep on the futon, in the lounge area. The charge of each additional guest would be $25pppn.
We take a 25% non-refundable deposit payment. Cancellation is up to 28 days in advance. If cancellation is made after this time, 100% payment is required, however we will work hard on rebooking the dates, in order that we can waiver this.
We do not take a damage deposit, however we reserve the right to charge guest for any damage caused during their stay.

After many holidays around the world in lodges, we know what we do and don't want in a vacation rental property.
We have therefore built and equipped Hillside Lodge to the comfort and standard that we would like to rent, whilst at the same time still keeping in mind that many holidays are booked on a budget.
When we were awarded a 4* Rating by Canada Select and BC Tourism Approved Accommodation, we knew we had got it right!
