Stone Creek condos are just a 4-5 minute walk up to the ski lifts, perfect for your Fernie ski holidays and outdoor recreation. You can ski back to the unit and will find the property in an excellent location. There are restaurants and bars on the hill and there is a shuttle bus in the day and evenings to go down to Fernie town for more. The ski season starts in Nov/Dec and runs to mid April. Stone Creek is just perfect for your Canadian holidays, so come and stay with us for your Fernie Alpine Ski Resort vacation! As we have skied at Fernie several times we are pleased to give advise on how to best rent you equipment and what is the best way to arrange ski or snowboarding schools and get the best value. For longer bookings we can arrange Condo cleaning at a minimal cost.
Situated on Fernie ski hil and less than 5 minutes walk to the ski lifts, and main ski resort base, bars and restuarants and hotels. You can go to the town using the free ski bus during daytime or evening. It is a great resort for families and Fernie still is relatively unspoilt, Apart from skiing Fernie has much to offer on days out from the slopes, such as Dog Sledding, Ice skating, the town swimming pool complex, and adventure treking to mention a few.

| How do I get to Fernie from the UK? | To get to ski Fernie at the moment you fly to Calgary, we would recommend using ZOOM Airlines (www.flyzoom.com) and booking ahead, they fly from Gatwick, Manchester and Glasgow. Otherwise try flights only through Inghams at www.inghams.co.uk or failing that its Air Canada. In the near future flights to Cranbrook airport will be possible with only a 40-50 minute transfer as the airport is being upgraded to International. To transfer you can pre book a mini shuttle/coach transfer to Fernie alpine resort. Mountain Perks pick up at Calgary Airport most days of the week at time when flights land and can be pre-booked, adult return fare is about £50 which is good value. | How long is the transfer to Fernie? | It takes 3-3.5 hours depending upon conditions and traffic in Calgary. |
| How do I drive to Fernie? | If you’re driving from Calgary, the best route in the winter goes south on provincial highway 2 to Fort Macleod, from where highway 3 goes west to Fernie town. Weather permitting, a shorter route goes via Black Diamond and highway 7, from where highway 22 goes south and intersects with highway 3 (west) for Fernie town. From there, head south on highway 3 and turn left for Fernie Alpine ski resort. |
| When are conditions best in Fernie? | It usualy snows heavily through December and by January conditions are good. But sometimes the snow can be good by December. The snow is usually good through out the season and often gets snow dunps, these get less as the season progresses but it can still be good in April. |
| What is the ski area like? | It has 5 bowls and is quite large. The lower half of the area is great for beginners and families. After a few days most people venture higher up and there are some lovely blue runs that most people can achieve. There are extreme areas for those that want to stretch themselves. It generally is a good all round resort. When the powder snow falls it is wonderful. |
| Where is best to eat in Fernie? | Fernie has become a food destination. In the past decade Fernie’s restaurants have won international awards and offer urban variety. The Pub’s history of great food and good times is sure to please; try their delicious wings, or share a platter of favorites with friends. | What can we do other than skiiing? | We would recommend you go and see the local Ice Hocky team the Ghostriders, it is a great night out. Go to the Pub at Park Place early and get a reduced ticket and a basket of Chicken wings and a few beers then onto the Ice Hockey, 2 minutes walk away, then a taxi bus back to the ski hill. Go Dog Sledding a great afternoon out from skiing or boarding, and see some of the beautiful scenery. Fernie Cinema - is downtown with current films showing. Fernie - sports and swimming centre with pool slide is open to all and is good fun. Ten Pin Bowling - there is a Bowling rink down in Fernie for a fun family night out. |
