Whistler Bike Park is getting bigger and better by expanding to Creekside. As of August 7, 2015 riders will be able to upload from Creekside and get access to all the massive trails that Whistler Bike Park has to offer.
Creekside Mountain Biking, Now Open
Dubbed by the Bike Park team as the ‘worst kept secret in history’, since Creekside visitors already know that a bike park trail construction is underway. Due to logistics the team was unable to share an official opening date until the very last minute. So there was still an element of surprise as to when opening day will be.
The park expansion means that riders can take advantage of the free underground parking at Creekside and upload and catch the bike park connection around Raven’s Nest and then down to the Village through Freight Train, Duffman, and Expressway trails. Experienced riders can also ride all the way down to the Creek via Dusty’s Downhill. The lift will be open from 10 AM to 5 PM daily, until September 7th, when operating hours switch to weekends only until September 20th. Riders are more than welcome to download on the lifts to Creekside and return to the parking lot at the end of the day.
This new expansion is just a glimpse of the massive expansion planned by Whistler Blackcomb for 2016. For guests who prefer to stay in Creekside, and get away from all the business in Whistler Village, there is much anticipation for what other improvements will be in store for the Whistler Creek.
