When you arrive to Crescendo, merely touch “Hello," and the home awakens. You’ll enjoy experimenting with the touchscreens in each room, through which computer-integrated lighting, audio/video, and climate-control are all at your command.

The Aussie influence permeates Big White’s culture and, at Crescendo, “no worries” means “no worries.” During your stay, in fact, the temperature in each room is monitored remotely (via the internet), ensuring climatized stability and comfort at all times.

Crescendo’s systems, too, remain vigilant and at optimal levels, even when you may be operating less than optimally yourself. Arriving back to the home late at night on less than four cylinders? No worries. Crescendo predicts your movement, gently illuminating the way ahead of you, and slowly fading the lights behind you.

Amenities

Crescendo is akin to being at your own Private Lodge! One of the many highlights of the home is the 12′ x 16′ jacuzzi pool is jetted and heats to Hot Tub temperatures (104 degrees Fahrenheit)! Each of the five separate pumps connects to three Jacuzzi jets: 9 jets on the inside portion and 6 jets on the outside portion.

Skiers and non-skiers both rave about Crescendo’s entertainment options, which is why Crescendo is enjoyed by guests even outside of ski season. Crescendo’s Media Room, for example, is outstanding! The movie screen is 110”, with 7.1 surround sound (not to mention two 12” subwoofers). More than 1200 movie titles are at your fingertips, literally. Plenty of comfortable lounge seating for your whole group. This room is equipped with a bar, ice maker, fridges, microwave and bar seating. The bartender in your group can mix up your favorite cocktails.  Need a change of pace? Our Rec Room/Game Room level includes one or more video gaming systems, video game library, music, TV with 90+ channels, a Poker Table, Bumper Pool Table, and a Professional Ping Pong Table. Yep, we provide board games too. Not to mention huge fridge for your beverages.

From late Spring through early Fall, in fact, are my favorite times at Crescendo. Why? Well, just take a look at our Outdoor Play areas, where you'll find resort-like comfort. During the day, move freely between our pool and picnic table areas. Later, enjoy the sunset, seated around our gas-fired Fire Table.

The Chef in your group will be truly amazed with the professional equipment this kitchen is outfitted with. Full sized fridge, freezer, 6 burner gas range with a griddle built in and dual ovens. Every conceivable small appliance and collection of cookware you could ever need to prepare gourmet meals for you group. On the adjacent deck is a large built in BBQ for your grilling pleasure. Plenty of counter space and seating at the kitchen bar to socialise with the Chefs.

Discounted Lift Tickets: The Biggie Card is you way to savings. YOU MUST GET IT BEFORE YOU ARRIVE AT BIG WHITE SKI RESORT. Cards can be reloaded from a cell phone or a computer once you have created a profile. It takes 30 minutes for the data to be processed and reach out gates.

 Here's what you need to know about the Biggie Card:

  • Direct to lift ski ticket – no need to stand in line.
  • Reloadable – the more you reload the more you save and it must be done up to 30 minutes before you approach a lift.
  • NO Blackout dates so you save everyday.
  • Offers great savings over regular and amazing pricing over peak periods.
  • Can be reloaded via website or mobile with the creation of a profile – that is what people forget to do, you must create a profile to reload.
  • Reloaded pass can take up to 30-45mins to become active (Excluding any issues with payment etc).
  • Cannot be reloaded through any of our ticket offices (unless the guest is having issues).

Simply stated, Crescendo’s location at Big White is second to none.  First, Crescendo is a true ski-in/ski-out ski chalet, and for that reason alone Crescendo is Big White’s most sought-after luxury accommodation.  Leave the home through our ski breezeway, and then ski/board down to Happy Valley, to the Gondola, or to three different chairlifts.  The Plaza Chair and the Gondola return you to the village, and both the Ridge Rocket (4 person) and Snow Ghost (6 person) drop you atop one of Big White’s peaks.

Suitable For:

Adults - Min Age to Stay: 25 Crescendo caters to families, to groups of mature adults, and to specialized events (e.g., Weddings, Corporate Retreats, family reunions). Although Crescendo has enough fixed and movable beds to sleep 22 (which is the maximum number of guests we allow), that is not the number of guests that we recommend. Our intention, in fact, is to comfortably sleep 14. Groups having more than 14 guests incur an additional fee. Irrespective of our occupancy maximum, the rate quoted to you was based (in part) on the total number of guests you had noted comprised your party. That guest number and that rate quote is listed in this contract, below. We understand that from the booking date to the arrival date the number of guests in your group may change. An increase in the number of guests, though, may result in an increase in rental rate. As noted above, there is an extra charge for bookings that exceed 14 guests. Lastly, the average age of the adults in your group must be over 25 years old.
Babies, Kids & Teens We welcome kids and families.
Celebrations & Special Events Crescendo for an Event: If your stay deviates from the above, it likely constitutes an event, for which an additional fee will occur. Using Crescendo in that manner requires preapproval by Crescendo’s owner. So, for example, 4 | P a g e - A wedding reception at Crescendo typically incurs an additional single $1500 charge. Depending on how Crescendo would be used during that time, it could be higher (or lower). - A group that includes guests not staying at Crescendo (e.g., guests from Kelowna or guests staying at other homes on the mountain), but those guests visit Crescendo and/or are included in activities at Crescendo, then an additional charge will be incurred. These additional charges for Events cover the extra time required of my staff, the additional wear to Crescendo, and such like: none of which is factored into our regular published Vacation Rental Home rate. The additional Event charge, though, does not cover - things that guests may break, - cleaning that goes beyond what may be typical with an ordinary rental, - repairing Crescendo to the state it was in when guests arrived (such as repainting walls if someone were to spray Champagne on them), and such like. Also, the amenities at Crescendo (our flatware, dishes, stemware, Jacuzzi/Pool, towels, sheets, and such like) are meant for the guests staying at Crescendo (i.e., the number agreed to in this rental contract). Those amenities are not to be part of the Event. In signing this Rental Agreement, you acknowledge your understanding about the above, and that you, personally, will be staying at Crescendo. While your intended guests may share in your expense, under no circumstance can you sublet Crescendo to other guests.

Non-Smokers Only Absolutely no smoking allowed. Guests liable for costs of special cleaning and fumigation, if housekeeping staff detect any evidence of smoking in the property.

Young Adult Groups 17-24 With Accompanying Age-Eligible Adult(s) We welcome young adults age 17-24 only when accompanied by adults who meet our minimum age requirement.

Long Term Renters (Monthly) Sorry, we do not allow long-term renters.
No Smoking Inside - Smoking Outside Permitted Crescendo is a non-smoking home (electronic cigarettes and pot, inclusive), meaning that there is to be no smoking in the home, and no smoking near any open window/area to the home. Our indoor Pool Room and our Garage (Rec Room) are both fully finished and heated, and they are both included and integrated into our whole-house fresh-air recovery system. Those areas, then, are considered to be inside the home and, as such, they are non-smoking areas, as well. I’m afraid that there would be a rather severe penalty if our No Smoking’ policy were violated. The entire Security Deposit would be forfeited, and all guests may also be asked to vacate Crescendo. As a violation of either of those policies would constitute a breach of Contract, even if asked to vacate, no funds would be returned. 5 | P a g e We provide outdoor smoking poles in convenient areas outside, and our expectation is that guests will use those for discarding their cigarette butts. Discarding butts around Crescendo’s perimeter, in fact, may result in an extra cleaning charge. Although smoking is permitted outside, a cigarette will burn a hole in the pool cover. If someone in your party burns a hole in the cover, your deposit will be charged to replace the fabric on that panel.
Pets We love animals. Crescendo’s owners, in fact, are actively involved in a group dedicated to the rescue of Miniature Pinschers. Still, for a variety of reasons, we do not allow guests to bring pets to Crescendo. As noted earlier, violation of our No Pet Policy does have rather severe consequences. If you bring a pet to Crescendo, you will be turned away and all monies paid toward your rental will be forfeited in its entirety.
Smoking Inside Permitted No smoking is allowed inside our property.
Subleased Tenants Subleasing to other tenants not permitted.
Travel Reseller Bookings - Referral Fee offered We do not offer referral fees for travel reseller bookings.
Wheelchairs Property cannot accommodate wheelchair use and wheelchair access.

Policies

Reservation & Cancellation Policies

Arrival Days Check-in and arrival instructions will be provided upon arrival at Crescendo. You will be met by a representative who will provide you with the codes for your stay and show you the home.
Booking & Arrival Deadline Must book and pay full balance at least 72 hours before your arrival date.
Cancellations Made by Guests

All payments are non-refundable. If we can replace your booking, we will refund your money for the proportion of days re-booked. Refunds processed will be subject to a 5% processing fee which will be deducted from the balance repaid. Travel insurance is recommended to protect yourself against any unexpected events involving your lodging, flights, or vacation-related products.

Covid 19 Policies:

We wish to ensure our guests feel confident that they can book with peace of mind knowing we are making efforts to be as flexible as possible in these uncertain times. If your country, government, or airline has an official “nonessential travel restriction” in place for the dates of your travel a refund less a 5% processing fee is offered. This policy applies up to 90 days before the booked arrival date.

Between 90 days and your arrival date guests will receive a 100% booking credit for the amount paid towards a booking for the same property for future travel up to 12/18 months from the cancelation date. Or you can receive a refund of 95% of the value of the booking less applicable fees. This policy applies ONLY if the following restrictions are in place for your booked dates of accommodation " travel is prohibited due to Covid-19 by governments and or health authorities and or if social gathering limits are imposed that apply to Vacation Accommodation limits that would prohibit your group from gathering"

Examples of restrictions:

  • If travel is restricted due to Covid-19 by governments and or provincial health authority restrictions.
  • Government Advisories prohibiting nonessential travel to or from your region
  • Government travel bans, border closures within Canada or from your home country
  • Extensive minimum quarantine periods on either end of travel
  • Airline schedule changes which will not enable you to arrive and depart on your planned dates
    • Credits will be offered only for number of days you were not able to stay in the accommodation for your booked dates due to airline-imposed flight schedule changes
  • Limits of gathering specific to Vacation Accommodation limits as per the Public Health Authority in BC
    • Current guidelines state "Vacation Accommodation is limited to the stated occupancy of the property + 6 visitors at any given time"

Cancellations Made by Owners We reserve the right to cancel your booking due to a late payment or if you violate any of our published policies. All payments are non-refundable.
Delayed Arrivals No partial or full refunds provided for delays of arrival.
Delivery of Instructions and Access Information All guest access information will be provided upon arrival to the property on the date and time of check-in agreed upon. A representative will meet you onsite to provide details.
Guest Account Termination The Owner or their Contact reserve the right to request permanent Guest account inactivation from this web sites technical administrators in the event of one or more of the following Guest actions: intentional property policy violation causing material damage or fines, Guest misrepresentation and/or fraud, intentionally defacing or damaging public or private property, breaking laws and bylaws, theft, public indecency, harassment, causing bodily or emotional harm & disturbing the peace after repetitive warnings. Guests will be notified by email of account termination. Guests may choose to appeal their account termination. Guests may be given the chance to reconcile with the Owner as a condition of preserving or reversing their account status. Account termination prevents the Guest from booking this or any other property that uses the same web site
Guest Stay Contract By reserving online via your credit card, you are agreeing to our terms and conditions. By clicking the AGREE button when paying online, you acknowledge that you have legally accepted, read, understood, agree with, and will comply with our publicly advertised policies (including payment terms) on our web site.
Ineligible Guests Reservation Reversal The Owner or their Contact reserves the right to cancel reservations made by, and refuse business to: Guests who do not meet the policies published in this property's Policies Table at the time of booking and past Guests known to have : intentionally violated rental property policies, damaged and/or defaced rental properties through intentionally destructive and/or negligent behavior, engaged in theft, broken local bylaws and laws, committed fraud or who misrepresented themselves, and Guests who have caused bodily or emotional harm to any third parties. Guests will be issued a refund by personal cheque. Refunds will be adjusted for any payment processing expenses
Late Reservation Payments We reserve the right to cancel your booking if you do not complete payment within 7 days of final notification of "late payment" notification sent to you by the email account you registered your account with us and used for booking this rental. No refunds will be provided as per our cancellations policies.
Privacy The Owner, their booking Contact and this web sites technical administrators agree to not sell, refer, rent or divulge to any third parties the names or personal information of their Guests without prior written consent from the Guests, except under force of law, or for law enforcement purposes relating to policy and property violation. The Owner and their booking Contact also agree to not use Guest personal information for any reason other than its original intended purpose without written consent from the Guests. Guests agree to not sell, refer, rent or divulge to any third parties the names or personal information of the Owner or their booking Contact without prior written consent from the Owner and/or Contact, except under force of law or for law enforcement purposes. Guests also agree to not use Owner or Contact personal information for any reason other than its original intended purpose without written consent from the Owners and their Contact.
Property Sale In the event that the new Owners do not honor your booking, I will make every effort to relocate you to a comparable property at no additional expense to you.
Reservation Changes Please note, too, that once your dates are secured, they cannot be moved to alternative dates. There are sound reasons for that, including the fact that your booking will have influenced booking decisions (made by us and by our guests) for dates on either side of your booking
Website Service Fee Website Service Fees are non-refundable, with the exception to reservations made before March 15, 2020. If there is an officially mandated COVID travel restriction being imposed by the countries where the property and/or guest is located, website service fees may be usable as a credit. To claim this credit review, the restriction must be in place up to 14 days prior to your rental arrival date. All refunds will be processed in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and any currency exchange difference will not be covered. Please contact info@alluradirect.com between 1-14 days before your cancelled arrival date to have reviewed. Flight cancellations alone will not be approved, a copy of the official Government issued restriction will be required.

Complaints Concerning Property Report all property complaints or obvious damage caused by previous Guests to us immediately, by phone and by email as they become evident. Serious problems should be reported with supporting photographs. We will make our best efforts to rectify problems within 24 hours of notification. Failure to notify us of property-related problems while in the property and as they become evident, will forfeit any rights or claims against us regarding property condition after your departure.
COVID Contact Tracing Requirements The property owner must be able to produce a list of guests who have occupied their rentals for contact tracing protocols in the event of an outbreak. The guest must provide names of whop will be occupying the rental property during their rental agreement.
COVID Maximum Guest Limitation The number of people is limited to the capacity of the space, plus a maximum of five visitors at any given time. Large gatherings will be removed from the premises and no refund will be provided.
Excessive Cleaning Costs Guests authorize a credit card charge for excessive cleaning costs.
Excessive Noise Big White does not have a formal curfew and neither does Crescendo. Especially after 10:00 pm and when chilling in and around the Pool (and our other outdoor areas), your neighbors will appreciate your being mindful of the fact that they were not invited to your party, and that they won’t likely want to hear how much fun you’re having at Crescendo without them. For your convenience, in fact, Crescendo’s SmartHome programming automatically turns off all outdoor speakers at 10:00 pm. Also, from 9:30 pm to 8:00 am, the touchpanel buttons that turn on the outdoor speakers automatically disable. Still, excessive noise after 10:00 pm that disturbs your neighbors' enjoyment of their vacationing at Big White is a cause for eviction. Again, Crescendo caters to families and to groups of mature adults. Should guests’ behavior necessitate eviction, all deposits and rent collected shall be considered earned and, therefore, shall be retained by Crescendo. The Security Deposit will be returned in accordance with the Security Deposit policy detailed elsewhere in this document. Really, we want you to play hard and to play often. We merely want you to do so safely, and with consideration toward others on the mountain who are trying to enjoy their family vacations, as well. Ski
Hot Tub Please note that our custom pool covers are for insulation purposes only, and that they are not meant to support a person standing on them. The pool covers were also not meant to be floated inside the pool (where they’d become water-logged), and they were not meant to put lit cigarettes 6 | P a g e on while smoking in the pool. Should damage occur to the covers for any of those reasons (or for other reasons), the Security Deposit would be used to repair that damage. There is a chance that either the day of your arrival or sometime during your stay that our pool maintenance crew may find it necessary to shock or to partially drain/refill the pool to sanitize it for you. Under those conditions the pool/Jacuzzi may not be immediately available to you for several hours (or, at most, till the next morning). While we know this type of sanitation process can be an inconvenience, it is also typical maintenance procedure. Should that occur during your stay, then, rate adjustments will not be made. By signing this Rental Agreement, you acknowledge that renting any home with a pool or a Jacuzzi may be a safety hazard, and that you are renting Crescendo with the notion that you are assuming that risk in its entirety. You additionally acknowledge that the owners and staff of Crescendo will not be responsible for any injury caused from the pool’s/Jacuzzi’s use or by the SwimGym’s use. Further, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners and the staff of Crescendo, should any injury or bodily harm occur. Please additionally note that minors are not permitted in the pool/Jacuzzi unless under the direct/constant supervision of a responsible adult.
Housekeeping For the duration of the 2021/2022 season we will not be providing any additional housekeeping services to guests during their stay in the unit. Special requests for additional supplies will be considered on a case by case basis to ensure safety protocols can be observed for both guests and our staff. If you have specific questions or requests, please contact us.
Liability The severe weather found on the mountain makes the concrete decks and surfaces surrounding Crescendo dangerous: especially when wearing ski boots or snowboard boots. We do what we can to minimize the dangerous conditions before and during your arrival, but conditions can change within minutes, let alone hours. You must exercise extreme caution when walking on any exterior surface around Crescendo. Neither the owners of Crescendo nor its management are responsible for any accidents, injuries, illnesses, or loss/breakage of personal belongings/valuables that occur while on Crescendo’s premises, while on Big White’s premises, or while using Crescendo’s or Big White’s facilities. By signing this Rental Agreement, you acknowledge that fact, which applies to you, to those in your party, and to any guest you invite to Crescendo or to Big White. Additionally, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Crescendo’s owners and Crescendo’s staff, if any of the above were to occur.
Locking Door Guests are required to securely lock all doors and entrances when they are not in the unit or upon departure.
Maintenance Emergencies Please contact us immediately upon discovering any maintenance issues. Please be advised if you do not notify us and the issue causes further damage you may be held liable for said damages due to non disclosure in a timely manner.
Maximum Sleeping Capacity Crescendo as a Vacation Rental Home: As a Vacation Rental Home, Crescendo is meant to be used exclusively and solely by the guests staying at Crescendo (preferably no more than 14, but up to 22). The regular published rental rate covers this type of usage (with an upcharge when there are more than 14 guests). If there are more guests than what was booked and paid for this is a violation of the rental agreement and you will be subject to immediate eviction.
Missing Items Guests authorize a credit card charge for missing items.
Noise Restrictions No noise after 10pm. You will be fined by security if your party and your guests disrupt other guests.
Policy Updates Policies are subject to change without notice.
Property Damage To ensure against damage to Crescendo, a Security/Damage Deposit of $2500.00 is required (may be higher for Events). A Credit Card is required for that security deposit. Approximately 7 days before your reservation arrival, a hold will be placed on that card for that amount. That Security/Damage deposit will be applied against any damage to the property, broken or missing items, excesses that result in additional cleaning, and violations of any of the policies listed in this agreement. Certain violations result in the loss of one’s entire Security Deposit: such as violations to either our No Pet or our No Smoking policies. Certain violations may also result in guests being asked to immediately vacate the premises. As a violation of that nature would constitute a breach of Contract, no funds would be returned (even if asked to vacate the premises). Admittedly, that has never yet happened at Crescendo. 2 | P a g e Crescendo’s management inspects all accommodations before and after a guest’s stay for damage, for missing items, and for cleanliness. At check-out, Crescendo’s cleaning staff will also clean Crescendo to its pre-rental condition. Please remember that the damage deposit can be applied to the cost of additional cleaning, which may be required if Crescendo is left in an exceptionally unkempt condition. Please note that guests are fully and legally responsible for any damage charges that exceed the amount secured by the Security/Damage Deposit. Should that occur, you hereby authorize Crescendo to place those additional charges onto your credit card. Really, only very rarely have we had to ding someone’s security deposit. We do want you to have fun at Crescendo, and we do understand that things can happen when a group of people are having fun. We merely expect our guests to be respectful of Crescendo, and we expect our guests to take responsibility for whatever may occur during their play. Check-In/

Ski & Snowboard Gear Storage The groomers should have a path carved from the ski run directly to our ski-in breezeway. The condition of that pathway, in part, will depend upon how many skiers/boarders that will have used Crescendo since it last snowed. That path, then, can become dangerously icy. Still, the quickest way to the Village or to the slope is out the back door (ski entry) and via that carved pathway. The strategic location of Crescendo’s outside ski locker is part of Crescendo’s absolutely brilliant design. Its purpose is for you to securely store your skis/poles/boards apart from the main home. So that you may conveniently wax boards and/or make adjustments to equipment, we have heated the ski locker and have provided tools therein for you to use. Please do not bring any skis, poles, or boards into the main house. In fact, your signature below acknowledges that bringing ski equipment into the home is prohibited, and that you agree to abide thereby. Damage caused by bringing skis/poles/boards into the home (e.g., scraped walls by standing skis/boards against them) is not considered to be normal wear-and-tear, so the repair for that damage would be deducted from your Security Deposit.
Terms of Eviction If guests violate any of the aforementioned guest stay policies or any policies noted in this rental agreement we have the right to evict the guests immediately . No refunds will be given for any monies paid for the rental or otherwise.

Guarantees Policies

Reservation Guarantee In the event of property sale, property damage or double booking, I will make every effort to relocate you to a comparable property at no additional expense to you.
Snow Guarantee We cannot guarantee snow conditions, which are out of our control. If there is mountain closure during your winter stay, please contact us about a partial refund, which may be possible but not guaranteed.
Weather Guarantee We cannot guarantee weather conditions, which are out of our control. Sorry, no refunds.

Property Details

While each room captures views of the slopes and/or of the majestic Monashee Mountains, the views from the Great Room, from the Kitchen, and from the Dining Room are breathtaking. When cooking, dining, or relaxing, thirty feet of floor-to-ceiling windows provide unprecedented panoramas upon which the eye may endlessly feast. The master ensuite, which overlooks the Great Room, is advantaged by that same view.

Kitchen

Time and again, caterers and chefs have commented about how well Crescendo’s kitchen is appointed and stocked.  We have a Thermador gas range, a True sliding glass door fridge, a True freezer, a Marvel Ice machine, a Sharp microwave drawer, and two Miele dishwashers.  Bottom line:  if it is not the best of the best, it is not for Crescendo.

The perfect venue for family or corporate retreats, for weddings, and more.  Crescendo’s expansive ceilings and open layout combine to make our Ski Chalet warm and inviting.

Dining Area

The large dining room is just off the kitchen with a large glass dining table and seating for 16+. The room is surrounded by windows on three sides with amazing views or the Monashee Mountains. If it’s privacy you see we have black out screens installed, which, allow some natural light in but keep prying eyes out.
