Nice Location, Unit, & Manager but Rock Hard Bed!

First trip to Sun Peaks. Fun mountain, great for families and we had terrific snow. Kids are going to hate skiing in Washington after this trip. Woodhaven was in a nice location for ski-in / ski-out. A bit of a walk to the village but most of it on a path. It was a well appointed unit and the hot tub was awesome. Overall we really liked the unit and our stay with one major exception.

Biggest Issue: The master bed was a rock, ok - not literally a rock but a super hard bed. I slept apart from the wife in the kids room on the bottom bunk because it was softer. Ok, for some wives maybe that is a bonus. :-)

Other suggestions:

  • Kitchen: A few more pans and kitchen utensils would be good. Overall the kitchen was very well stocked....even had a bunch of spices which was a nice touch.
  • Entry: A place to hang coats and if you want shoes to come off then provide seats that don't tip over. Maybe there is a way to utilize the washer/dryer area better.
  • Outside: Provide a shovel so we can shovel off the decks and snow in front of garage.

I would definitely rent again if they get a new mattress in the master bedroom.

New Years at Sun Peaks

As a family of 5 (2 teenagers and a 10 yr old) we were a bit tight for sleeping and sitting in the living room area. I would recommend this property for families of 4 or those with smaller kids. We love Sun Peaks and were excited to try Woodrun for the first time. Very easy to get to the Morrissey lift in the morning and SUPER easy to ski right to the back door at the end of the day. We cooked in most nights. Kitchen is fairly well equipped, but I am glad I brought my owns knives.

Private hot tub was the highlight for all of us at the end of the day. Kids loved the lights.

Don was very easy to deal with before our arrival and all was set up with the door code as promised. Very easy.

My only real complaint, was the noise coming from a very large group next door to us (#6) well after quiet hours. The guests in that unit also smoked right outside their front door, which was our front door entrance as well. The smoke made its way into our place. This is of no fault of our rental agency, but I am adding this as other renters should be aware that each unit must have different rules and some allow smoking. Thankfully this unit is a NON-Smoking unit.

We will be looking to book at Woodrun in the future. Thanks for allowing us to share your vacation home.

The coffee maker needs took over an hour to make a pot of coffee. The fan in the master bath doesn't work. The kitchen needs a few more things. No platter if wanting to make a big dinner. The serving dishes are almost nonexistent . A great place for skiing in and out and the mountain transit bus picks you up right there. It was a great place with enough space for two or three in the kitchen. When we arrived the Internet and the fireplace weren't working and we called and within the hour our repair people were there getting things done....would highly recommend dealing with Don

Cancellations Made by Guests All payments are non-refundable, unless booking can be replaced. Refunds or portions thereof will be refunded based on the number of nights rebooked and rebooked rate refunds will be subject to a 10% cancellation fee. Complaints Concerning Property Report all property complaints or obvious damage caused by previous Guests to us immediately, by phone and by email as they become evident. Serious problems should be reported with supporting photographs. We will make our best efforts to rectify problems within 24 hours of notification. Failure to notify us of property-related problems while in the property and as they become evident, will forfeit any rights or claims against us regarding property condition after your departure.
Excessive Cleaning Costs Guests are responsible for all cleaning costs over and above those of normal use. Guests will be responsible for excessive cleaning, dirty dishes, etc.

Garbage Removal Please take Garbage to the Transfer Station located on Industrial Way (western entrance to the resort).

Property Details

Our townhouse boasts 1,200 sq. ft. of living space with dark Alder accents.  Garage, laundry and storage are on the ground floor.  The main floor consists of the powder room, large kitchen, dining and living room.  Off the kitchen, a private patio and a private 6 person hot tub.  A large deck with BBQ is off the living area.  Upstairs two large bedrooms, both with ensuites.  A small deck off the master bedroom on the front of the townhome.
