Full Time Communications & Customer Support Representative for Web-Based Vacation Rental Software & Marketing Company
alluraDirect.com is a growing vacation rental marketing, software and consulting company that helps 900+ vacation homeowners independently manage their vacation home rentals.
We've been in business since 1997 and have 8-full time employees, including a 4-person in-house software development team.
We need an energetic and motivated individual to assist our guest and owner clients, and to help create and implement a self-serve, online help centre for property owner using our software, and guests searching, viewing and booking our clients' vacation homes.
About the Job
- 13 month contract: May 1, 2010 to May 31, 2011
- Opportunity for full time status depending upon your skills, interests & performance
- 40 hour averaging work week: some weekend shifts are included in these hours
- May 1 to August 31, 2010: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
- September 1, 2010 to February 28, 2011: 2 week rotation of:
- 2 weeks: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
- 2 weeks: Saturday & Sunday, 9am to 5pm; Monday to Wednesday, 9am to 2pm
- March 1 to May 31, 2011: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
- 2 weeks vacation

Your Existing Basic Skills & Interests
- Excellent written and verbal communicator
- Basic to intermediate knowledge html
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of video production and editing applications
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- A high level of personal use and understanding of blogs and social media such as: Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and Delicio.us
- An understanding of other content syndication systems such as RSS
- You are obsessively organized, reliable and have good analytical skills
- You are a critical thinker and like creatively solving problems in a scalable way

Responsibilities
- Provide customer support to guests using our site to find and book accommodation
- Provide support owners using our proprietary web-based software
- Develop, document, implement and manage owner technical support systems. This includes creating and implementing technical help documentation, video tutorials and webinars.
- Assist in developing, implementing, documenting and managing an owner recruitment campaign in existing destinations and new destinations, may include cold calling prospective owners
- Assist in fully intergrading owner relations management and support with other areas of the company, such as operations, guest services and front end communications
- Assist in implementing an improved owner-direct software and payment system solution for owner clients
- Assist our marketing and owner relations groups with research, strategy development, report generation and analysis
- Assist in web page planning, production, copywriting, performance measurement and optimization for search engine positioning and sales conversion
- Participate in online social media marketing
- Participate in online article production
- Participate in software usability analysis and testing.
