This year’s music festival for the Outdoor Concert Series at Whistler’s World Ski and Snowboard Festival (WSSF) is headlined by one of hip-hop’s greatest artists, Nas, and up and coming Canadian indie band, Arkells. Nas will be performing a free show on Saturday, April 13th, while the Arkells will be closing out the 2013 World Ski and Snowboard Festival on Sunday April 21st with a free show beginning at 4pm. Other well-known musical acts performing at the Whistler music festival are the Swollen Members and K-OS, two Juno award winning Canadian rap groups in their own rights. If you’re planning to come to this year’s World Ski and Snowboard Festival and you enjoy sounds of a free outdoor concert festival, perhaps a staying in Whistler Village is the perfect thing for you.
With the array of artists planned for this year’s WSSF, there is no question that the grant awarded to the World Ski and Snowboard Festival by the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) for the amount of $135,000 certainly helped attract popular industry acts, such as Nas and Arkells.
