

With two months to go before the 2013 World Ski and Snowboard Festival in Whistler, this year’s schedule of events is just starting to trickle out. The arts and music festival line-up for the Outdoor Concert Series is yet to be announced, but the schedule for sporting events is out with the World Skiing Invitational kicking things off on April 12. from April 12-17th, skiers will be taking to both Blackcomb Mountain and Whistler Mountain as they compete in slopestyle and big-air competitions.

From April 12-17th, the WSI Slopestyle competition is taking place at the Highest Level Park on Blackcomb Mountain featuring some of the best competitors in the world. With Slopestyle skiing now recognized as a sport in the Winter Olympic Games, Whistler is sure to draw the best in the world dropping into the pipe. On April 15-16th, the left jumps on the Highest Level Park will be closed to public riding while the Slopestyle competition is happening.
For spectators not wanting to watch the WSI Slopestyle competitions, the ultimate in big air ski competitions will be taking place at the base of Whistler Mountain. Happening simultaneously from April 12-17th, the Big Air competition will wow spectators with spectacular looking on from Whistler Village in Skier’s Plaza with spectaculars aerial displays. The winner of the Big Air competition will walk away with one of the sport’s biggest Big Air Championships and massive bragging rights.
