Whistler Blackcomb Contest Announced – “You Name It” Contest For New Crystal Zone Chairlift

Whistler Blackcomb Chairlift Contest

Whistler Blackcomb announced the “You Name It” chairlift competition for the new Crystal Zone chairlift, where the winner has the chance of winning a Whistler Blackcomb 2013-2014 season ski pass. Whistler Blackcomb is asking participants to submit creative and unique names for the new quad chair on Blackcomb Mountain. The new Crystal Zone chairlift was announced earlier this month as part of an $18 million lift expansion that will open at the beginning of next ski season.

Whistler Blackcomb Crystal Zone Chairlift Contest AnnouncementThe “You Name It” competition is now open for two weeks, closing on February 15 at 5pm, and is open to residents of Canada and the United States over the age of 13. The winner, chosen by Whistler Blackcomb, will receive their choice of either a Whistler Blackcomb 2013/14 unlimited winter season pass or a $1,000 Whistler Blackcomb gift card. In addition to the winner having their submitted name crown the new crystal zone chairlift, they’ll also have the chance, along with three friends, to enjoy the first public ride up the new chairlift.

New Crystal Zone Chairlift on Whistler BlackcombThe new lift will originate along the Blackcomb Glacier Road, dramatically changing the aspect of the lift line. At a vertical rise of 535 metres (1,755ft), the bottom terminal location of the new Crystal Zone lift allows boarders and skiers to access several local trails including Ridge Runner, Rock ‘N’ Roll, and Outer Limits without needing to return to the Excelerator Express. The new chairlift on Blackcomb Mountain will increase the speed and accessibility for boarders and skiers returning from either Spanky’s Ladder or Blackcomb Glacier.

The winning submission is to be announced on February 26, 2013, but if there are duplicate submissions of the chosen name, a random draw will be held amongst those submissions to declare the winner. Submission for the contest can be made on Whistler Blackcomb’s “You Name It” Contest page.
