Whistler Village Beer Festival Showcases Excellent Brews, Benefitting Local Establishments

Whistler Beer Festival 2014

Soak up the last moments of summer at the Whistler Beer Festival on September 11 – 14, 2014! Make the drive (or flight) up the scenic Sea to Sky Highway and arrive in the beautiful Whistler Village, to be greeted by the most refreshing brews around town – 50 different breweries to be exact! This Whistler event is bigger and better the second time around, featuring cask nights, parties and brunches.

Whistler Beer Festival – Fastest Growing Local Event

It’s a well known fact that there are plenty of great brewing companies in Whistler and around the West Coast. It was only a matter of time before somebody took the initiative of organizing an annual event to celebrate blossoming craft beer trend while bringing brewers and beer-lovers together. Whistler Beer Fest was inaugurated in September 2013, spearheaded by Liam Peyton and backed by Gibbons Life. The aim of this event is to drive businesses to the Whistler community, and ultimately create a local legacy.

Now on its second year, this Whistler event more than doubled its size; gathering 50 breweries including Red Racer (winner of the 2013 best in fest award), Whistler Brewery, Deep Cove Brewers, Phillips, Granville Island, Deschutes, Gigantic, Four Winds, Parallel 49, and more. Whistler Beer Fest goers will enjoy their fill of 150 varieties of craft beers! As for the breweries in attendance, they get a shot at the “Best in Fest” which secures them a contract at various local establishments in Whistler.

Tickets are $30 for the early birds, $35 for regular price, and if you’re willing to shell out some money, for an additional $10 you can get access to the events an hour before the gates open for everyone else. Each ticket includes 5 beer tokens (4 oz. pour), souvenir mug, and $5 off-site food vouchers. But fret not if you need more than 5 tokens, tasting tokens are available on-site at $1.40 each.

According to Peyton, “The festival is a celebration of all things beer. It’s built on passion and we’re proud to share that with the world whilst benefiting our community.” Whistler Beer Fest will also be showcasing various industry events, from cask nights to educational seminars such as Beer 101, Craft Beer Revolution, and History of Beer.
