Whistler’s World Ski and Snowboard Festival (WSSF) continue to grow after receiving a $135,000 RMOW investment through the Whistler Festivals, Events & Animation Program. With just under two months until the start of this year’s WSSF festival in Whistler, North America’s largest winter sports and music festival, Whistler’s investment guarantees a more enticing 2013 WSSF Outdoor Concert Series than any previous year. The 2013 WSSF Whistler event is from April 12 to 21, 2013, and will feature very integrated digital media series this year.

Whistler’s 2013 WSSF event will feature an interactive OLYMPUS 72 Hour Filmmaker Showdown and the OLYMPUS Pro Photographer Showdown as digital storytelling continues to be a hot attraction at Whistler’s annual ski and snowboard event. In addition, an encore presentation of the OLYMPUS 72 Filmmaker Showdown will take place on April 17 where The People’s Choice Award will also be announced.

WSSF Features Arts, Music, and Sports

The 2013 World Ski and Snowboard Festival will also feature a new ‘THE BEGINNING’ party that will feature an all-night extravaganza of DJs, drinks, dancing and fashionable people kicking off the mountain festival in style. To kick off the skiing events at WSSF, the open Slopestyle competition will take place on the Highest Level Terrain Park on Blackcomb Mountain, while the Invitational Big Air competition takes place at the base of Whistler Mountain. Snowboard events will follow to close out the 2013 World Ski and Snowboard Festival April 17-21, 2013.

North America’s top ski resort will be alive and well during April as many come to the resort of the mountain’s largest party of the year. The full 2013 Outdoor Concert lineup will be announced in March. With Whistler’s RMOW investment of $135,000, this year’s World Ski and Snowboard Festival may be one of the best.
