After an amazing first year at Mont-Tremblant this August, Ironman has rewarded the fan favorite resort with the designation of the Ironman North American Championships for 2013 and 2014. The inaugural Ironman race in Mont-Tremblant took place on August 19, 2012 through the scenic countries of Quebec and the well-known Tremblant ski village. Participants and spectators, including friends, families, and village tourists raved about the quality and organization of this year’s race likely leading to such a great success in the eyes of the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC).
$125,000 Prize Purse Up For Grabs…
The Ironman North America Championships will feature a $125,000 USD professional runner’s prize purse and includes qualifying opportunities for the 75 age groups into the Ironman World Championship held annually in Hawaii during October. This year’s World Ironman Championship is this Saturday, October 13, 2012. This is a big boost to the local tourist industry, as Mont-Tremblant hopes to take advantage of this opportunity by attracting thousands into the resort over the next two years.
