Be a BC Snow Bum this Winter!
You have two fantastic opportunities to make your ski bum dreams a reality! Both Sun Peaks Resort and the Kootenay Rockies Tourism Group have individual contests offering you the chance to be a snowbum for 3 months in the 2010 winter!
Sun Peaks Resort "I want to be the Snow Bum" Contest
Spend 3 months on the slopes of Sun Peaks Resort with a free place to sleep, food to keep you energized, flights to get you to and from Sun Peaks Resort, AND outerwear, gear and a season's pass.
To enter: you need to create and submit a 60 second video of why you should be the Sun Peaks Snow Bum.
Deadline for entries: November 15, 2009; winner announced December 1, 2009.
The winner receives a snow bum prize package, valid from January 4 to March 31, 2010. The package includes return flights to and from Kamloops & a shuttle ride to Sun Peaks Resort, resort accommodations, nordic and alpine passes, outerwear and gear, food allowance, all expenses paid for in resort activities, 'backstage' passes to resort events like the Winter Wine Festival, use of a cell phone, camera with video capability and a laptop for the duration of the stay.
The winner will also be involved in a weekly itinerary of activities and will be contributing social media content as the voice of Sun Peaks Resort.

Powder Highway Ultimate Ski Bum Contest
Put on by Kootenay Rockies Tourism, this contest is a collaborative effort by several ski and snowboard operators along the 'Powder Highway' including 8 different Mountain Resorts!
One lucky Ski Bum will win a 3 month experience along the Powder Highway and have free lift tickets at all of the participating resorts, 15 days of heli and cat skiing, accommodation and transportation. There is no agenda, no job, just snow, mountains and a road that links it all together.
To enter: you need to create and submit a 90 second video of why you think you should be the Powder Highway Ultimate Ski Bum.
Deadline for entries: November 22, 2009; winner announced December 1, 2009.
The winner receives a prize package valid from January 1 to March 31, 2010. The package includes unlimited day passes at the 8 participating resorts, 16 days of heli/cat Skiing, full accommodations, flight to and from the Powder Highway, and a vehicle with free gas.
The participating mountain resorts include: Revelstoke Mountain Resort, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, Panorama Mountain Village, Fairmont Hot Springs Ski Area, Red Mountain Resort, Whitewater Ski Resort, Kimberley Alpine Resort and Fernie Alpine Resort.
