AlluraDirect.com Launches Sweet New Upgrades to its Vacation Rentals Search Engine

That's right.

Seas will rage. The earth will tremble. Thunder will clap.

All because we've made some fun new upgrades to our vacation rentals search engine. (Disclaimer: thunder will not actually clap).

If you're looking for your next vacation rental in Whistler, Sun Peaks or Big White, you'll like our new features:

Faster search results: Under the hood of our search engine interface, you'll find tighter code and a souped up processing algorithm (Yes, that's geek speak). What it really means is your vacation rentals searches take less time to display, so you can browse more properties faster. (Seriously try it out, it's fun!)

Improved visual display: Too much information isn't as useful as having the best information to make an informed decision. For this reason, we've now included a property photo directly in the search results, so you can quickly scan which properties pique your interest.

This is actually my favourite upgrade. There's just something about visually checking out a property that makes it more fun -- probably because you can picture yourself kicking back on the sofa, relaxing in the hot tub, or strumming Neil Diamond songs around the fireplace. (Actually, wait forget that last one).

Per Person Rate Calculation: With all the property search results, we now include the "Nightly Rate Per Person" dividing the cost of the property among all the potential guests. The last feature upgrade to AlluraDirect.com's vacation rentals search engine may seem trivial at first, but dig a little deeper, and it's quite useful.

When I'm deciding on what size a bottle of gin to pick up at the liquor store, the price tag includes a handy "per ml" breakdown. This allows me to easily see that choosing the larger bottle saves me .10 cents a ml over choosing the smaller bottle.

In the same way, our "rate per person" feature evolved to allow you to easily differentiate the cost of each property on a nightly AND per person rate, as well as combat the tactics of other accommodation providers that advertise unbelievably low nightly rates to entice guests – who discover later these rates are per-person, rather than per room.

Sue Chappel (our CEO who brought in some excellent cookies yesterday) says, "We believe guests can benefit from studying both rates, on a per-room and a per-person basis. The difference is we don't make guests hunt through the fine print to discover the true cost of their ski resort accommodation."

With these three pretty sweet upgrades: faster results, embedded property photos, and an improved visual presentation of property information, we hope our vacation rentals search engine continues to be the most effective tool for guests to find, compare, and book the exact ski resort accommodation that fits their needs.

So while there will be no raging seas or clapping thunder from these improvements, we think you'll have fun planning your vacation. (And don't forget to pack some Neil Diamond).
