The VP’s from United Airlines visited the Big White Resort this summer and are hoping to take advantage of this new opportunity provided to them by the largest contributor of ski holidays in North America.
Aside from just surfers and Hollywood beach enthusiasts, the United Airlines non-stop flight service between Kelowna and Los Angeles opens a connecting flight for Aussies and Kiwis flying from Sydney, Australia to Los Angeles. The new flights from Los Angeles to Kelowna will provide the Okanagan region with a significant boost in tourism for its wine and ski industries.
With strong interest from travelers in Australia and New Zealand, United Airlines extended its partnership with the Kelowna International Airport (YLW) to create a second Saturday flight departing from L.A to Kelowna. This makes it easier for travelers from Australia and New Zealand to find connecting flights to Kelowna from Los Angeles or Vancouver.
For skiers and snowboarders, this news makes Big White Resort just as accessible as Whistler with perhaps better snow conditions. The BC mountains at Big White Resort are known for having excellent fresh powder conditions.
