In fact, Sun Peaks is going all-in and throwing a small weekend festival of events to celebrate Family Day and create a fun family-oriented atmosphere. On Sunday, Sun Peaks is throwing a fun event that encourages parents and kids of all ages to feel like a big kid again by participating in the dual penguin slide.
Family Day Fun Weekend at Sun Peaks.
On Sunday afternoon, Sun Peaks will host its first Penguin Slide Dual event encouraging everyone to celebrate Family Day by dressing up in a penguin suit at the bottom of the Sundance Chair and sliding down the mountain hill like a penguin – on your belly! This fun fill event will also feature a dance party, face painting, and clowning around with Uncle Chris the Clown and Harry Bear.
To finish off the afternoon, grab a glow stick and join others skiing down the platter lift in a Glow Stick Parade and enjoying free hot chocolate afterwards.
Then in true British Columbian fashion, Sun Peaks ski lift tickets are half-price on Family Day. If you’re heading up to Sun Peaks for Family Day this weekend, be sure to stay up there a little longer on Monday and enjoy a day of skiing at half-price. With BC ski resorts all offering half-price ski lift tickets, Family Day is going to be a busy on both the mountains and roads.
