Beyond Whistler Blackcomb – Exploring Whistler’s Après Ski Activities
Winter’s in Whistler are synonymously attached to Whistler Blackcomb without even thinking about it, but the resorts après ski activities are plentiful – we’re not just talking drinks and bars – and can enjoyed by anyone and everyone. From families to couples, and even singles, Whistler après ski activities can be found everywhere. From sliding down the mountainside on a windy bobsled track to flying through the winter wonderland Zipline maze, Whistler has it all.
Relax in Whistler’s Outdoors
One of the favourites, especially amongst the women, is to relax in the outdoor traditional Finnish baths and saunas at the Scandinave Spa. If you’re not a drinker and aren’t interested in visiting the Whistler bars, then this is the next best way to relax in the outdoors after a day of skiing in Whistler. You’ll be guaranteed to get a great night’s sleep and be ready to hit the slopes again in the morning!
Test Your Limits Sliding Down A Mountain
If you’re not tired or exhausted from your day on the mountain, then head over to the Whistler Sliding Centre to test your body’s adrenalin rush. Not only will you get the chance to slide down an Olympic Bobsledding track at 125km/hr, but you’ll get the true bobsleigh riding experience with a full orientation of the sport including, helmet fitting, track etiquette, and safety guidelines. If you really wanting to test your adrenalin rush, then go sliding down the mountainside head first on the skeleton track reaching speeds of up to 100km/hr.
Thrills of Being A Kid Again
If the two extremes of relaxation and adventure don’t interest you, then perhaps the Whistler Tube Park may interest those traveling in groups or families. For only $17, you can enjoy an affordable and low-key afternoon sliding down a 1,000 foot slide on tubes or crazy carpets!
If none of these three activities interest you, then perhaps one of the following après ski activities in Whistler may be of interest to you. Needless to say, there are plenty of things to do in Whistler during the winter and it’s one of the main reasons that Whistler is a world class resort that needs at least a 3 day holiday to enjoy.
