The second annual Bluebird Banked Slalom will take place in the “Hully Gully” of Sun Peaks Resort on Sunday, Feb. 17. Located on Tod Mountain, the Hully Gully is a brand new course that many love to say more than once. The team at Sun Peaks Resort spent all summer grooming the new course on Tod Mountain.
Bluebird Banked Slalom to Benefit Future Snow Athletes.
The Bluebird Banked Slalom features skiers and boarders competing on a slalom style course competing against the clock. Each rider gets up to two times and two runs on the course. With an entry fee of $75 and a limit of 100 participants, Sun Peaks is hoping to raise more than $2,000 towards its Bluebird Day Fund. A donation of $15 from each entry fee goes toward the Sun Peaks Bluebird Day Fund that is for the training of young enthusiastic snow sport athletes. Each participant must be over 18 years of age.
Categories for this year’s event include men’s and women’s ski masters (35 years and older), an open ski category for men and women (19 and older), and a combine ski and board event for both men’s and women’s board master (35 and older). Each participant in the Bluebird Banked Slalom has the chance to win numerous awards and prizes including pint glasses, restaurant meals, and an entry to the Masa’s Bluebird Banked Slalom After Party.
