Big White Resort Hoping to Open the Ski Season Early
Snow temperatures have continued to drop since this past Saturday contributing to the first snow fall of the season at Big White Resort, leading to speculation that the ski season may open early. Currently, Big White has a base of 7cm, but with lower seasonal temperatures continuing this week there is hope that Big White Mountain will continue to see precipitation fall in the form of snow. Opening day is at Big White is scheduled for December 1st, but if the forecast of early snowfall continue, the mountain could very much open earlier.
Big White Resort Aims To Take Advantage Of Positive News
This is great news for Big White Resort who just recently welcomed the execs of United Airlines to the resort to celebrate the opening of new direct flights from Los Angeles to Kelowna. The resort is hoping that this is will be a gateway to attract more Australians given that the flights to Kelowna are a connecting flight with United Airlines Sydney to Los Angeles route.
With yesterday’s BC Tourism announcement that tourism in the province has seen substantial gains compared to past years, Big White is hoping that the 2011-2012 season will be a big year for the resort and mountain.
