Choose our place as your home-away-from-home while at Whistler. Everything you need is just outside your door including groceries, pharmacy, liquor store, coffee shops, shopping and restaurants. Skiing is an 8 minute walk to the lifts or take the free shuttle bus that stops right at Marketplace Lodge. Feel free to browse through our additional pictures in the Photo Gallery. Our suite has an open layout living room dinning room and kitchen with a fireplace to keep it cozy. Our suite is well equiped with cooking supplies and games as we use it ourselves. With 2 full bath, insuite laundry and mud room, what else could you need? Our place is a favourite of many, so use the Reserve Now link at the top of the page to book your Whistler vacation. This building has gone high tech security to keep you and your family safe. This is a very family orientated building, our suite overlooks the 2010 Olympic Plaza where the athletes received their medals, with views of Blackcomb & Whistler Mountain. We are in Whistler Village so park your car in Marketplace's secured underground parkade and walk everywhere.

For 2012 we have updated our suite with:  WIFI  so many guests want it, though if you're on vacation, you should park those cell phones and laptops.  Have you ever gone for a walk and left the cell phone at home?  Try it.

Last year we updated our suite with a ceiling fan to cool in the summer and circulate heat in the winter months. We are clean freaks and every inch of our suite is shampooed, washed or painted every year. We also include complimentary housekeeping upon check out.

Special Features

Our suite is at the quiet end of Whistler Village and overlooks village stroll and forest. No cars driving by but lots of amenities and services right downstairs. Only a 8 minute walk to the lifts or take the free shuttle bus that stops right at Marketplace Lodge.

We feature keyless entry, fireplace and a cozy bench sofa overlooking village stroll a great spot for people watching. The master bedroom also has a view of Blackcomb & Whistler mountain. We have insuite laundry, full kitchen that you can cook in, 2 full bathrooms.

For the 2008/09 season this building has gone high tech security, proximity cards to access common areas; the elevator will not move unless you have your common area proximity card on your person.

For late check-in we have an intercom service that is connected to the owners who can 'buzz you in' anytime.

 Amenities

Our suite overlooks the quiet end of village stroll so no cars driving by, just pedestrian traffic. Easy walking access to grocery store, drug store, liquor store and equipment rental. Find coffee shops and lots of unique gift shops right downstairs.

We have set up our suite to be comfy and cozy whether your party is a family or a couple on a quick get away. Lots of cushions, throw blanket in the living room, comforters in the Master bedroom and den. Always lots of extra towels and pillows in the suite. Just turn on the fireplace sit back on the window bench and watch the lights of the snowcats grooming at night on Blackcomb mountain.

We do an incredible spring clean each year, not only do the windows, carpets and sofas get cleaned, but every pillow, comfortor, cushion and matress pad. We clean every cupboard, appliance and dish. Walls, doors get washed or painted. Blinds are also cleaned along with the patio. Matresses are also shampooed every 2 - 3 years depending on usage.

Just about anything you might need is in the suite whether it be a couple of fans after spring skiing or an iron and ironing board for the big night out. Forgot the hairdryer? Soap? Shampoo? Conditioner? Sunscreen? There's usually some kicking around.

Kitchen is full of everything you need to cook including sugar and spices and everything nice. Laundry room has laundry soap, fabric softner, presoak.

Marketplace Lodge has a no smoking, no pet policy. Please leave your pets at home and smoke on the balcony.  You must be 25 years old to book this suite and an adult 25 years old must be staying in the suite.

If you are caught smoking in the suite you will pay $100 for additional housekeeping and the $200.00 fine will be passed on to the guest.

Reservation & Cancellation Policies

Policy Description
Cancellations Made by Guests Deposit nonrefundable. Cancellation after final payment refundable by the number of nights re-booked in a replacement reservation at replacement rate less a 4% cancellation fee.
Delayed Arrivals Must check in between 7 am to 10 pm. Front Lobby Doors automatically locked between 10 pm to 7 am daily. If you are checking in late you must let me know!
Delivery of Instructions and Access Information Keyless Entry into suite, common proximity card required to access building, operate elevators access common areas. So if you are checking in late, please let the owner know immediately. Upon full payment you will receive an e-mail with instruction, information and combination to get into our suite. *IF YOU LOOSE A PROXIMITY CARD the guest will be charged $125 for EACH replacement card.
Guest Account Termination The Owner or their Contact reserve the right to request permanent Guest account inactivation from this web sites technical administrators in the event of one or more of the following Guest actions: intentional property policy violation causing material damage or fines, Guest misrepresentation and/or fraud, intentionally defacing or damaging public or private property, breaking laws and bylaws, theft, public indecency, harassment, causing bodily or emotional harm & disturbing the peace after repetitive warnings. Guests will be notified by email of account termination. Guests may choose to appeal their account termination. Guests may be given the chance to reconcile with the Owner as a condition of preserving or reversing their account status. Account termination prevents the Guest from booking this or any other property that uses the same web site

Guest Stay Policies

Bike Storage Store bikes in locked bike storage @ enterance to underground parking or in the suite's parking stall, bring your bike locks. No bikes permitted in the suite
Check-In Time 4:00 pm. No early check in
Check-Out Time 10:00 am. No late check out
Complaints Concerning Property Report all property complaints or obvious damage caused by previous Guests to us immediately, by phone and by email as they become evident. Serious problems should be reported with supporting photographs. We will make our best efforts to rectify problems within 24 hours of notification. Failure to notify us of property-related problems while in the property and as they become evident, will forfeit any rights or claims against us regarding property condition after your departure.
Excessive Cleaning Costs If you leave a big mess you will be charged for it.
Excessive Noise
Garbage Removal Guest must take out the garbage on check out. Do not leave garbage or food on balcony - bears can climb.
Housekeeping Is complimentary on check out. Stays of 10 nights will have a complimentary mid week clean on the 5th day, longer stays will have a mid week clean every 10 - 14 days.
Liability
Locking Door The lobby doors lock automatically at 10 pm until 7 am everyday. Parents: if you have a teenager, please don't let the teenagers have a proximity card. You require a proximity card to access common areas, operate elevators and to enter building: 24 hours a day (3 proximity cards are in the suite for your use). If you loose a common proximity card you will be charged $125.00 from your damage deposit
Maintenance Emergencies call housekeeper/maintenance.
Maximum Sleeping Capacity Six (6) Adults.
Property Damage Guest will pay for any damage to the suite. If you loose a proximity card $125 will be deducted from you damage deposit
Rental Accommodation Zoning

Phone

How does the phone work? The phone was preprogrammed for the old 7 diget dialing system, now with the 10 numbers you have to dial the first 7 numbers, wait for them to be dialed, then dial the last 3 numbers.

Insuite Laundry

How does the insuite laundry work? If you are using the dryer please remember to close the balcony door and bedroom window as the dryer is vented onto the balcony

Den

What about sleeping in the Den? If someone is sleeping in the den, please remember to turn off the kitchen and hall light as the french door lets in lots of light into the den.

 About Us

Long before we ever met each other we both fell in love with skiing. Darcy with his week long ski trips in university and Gloria with her weekend trips to Whistler. Then we met! Our first weekend away together we went up to Whistler in September (1994) to play tennis (another love we both shared). We booked a suite at Marketplace Lodge which had just opened and was brand new like our relationship and we fell in love with each other and Whistler (again) and Marketplace Lodge.

It's been many years since that weekend of tennis. We have stayed in just about every hotel/condo up at Whistler and guess what! Here we are back at Marketplace Lodge where it all began. We were married in August 1998 and instead of a huge expensive wedding & honeymoon we were married in Darcy's hometown of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and had a long weekend honeymoon at Whistler (a trip that Gloria won for being a top real estate salesperson). Instead we bought a ski condo for our family (that we now have) to enjoy year round. We now have 2 wonderful children, Tina and Chris who have been taking ski lessons so book before we do . . . and so far we are living happily ever after.
