Property Description

This Big White luxury chalet sleeps 12 with big hot tub. Ski in ski out accomodation, central location with parking & easy access to the gondola, ice rink and centre of the village. 3400 sq feet of space spread out over 4 floors. There is an unbelievable amount of space to spread out and relax. This is one of the most spacious and comfortable chalets on the mountain. It is a family chalet designed by a family for families. There are toys, games, baby equipment & loads of DVD's to keep all children entertained when they are not skiing. Yet it retains a luxurious quality which all adults enjoy.

This Big White chalet has a fabulous kitchen with every piece of kitchen equipment you could possible need. Even on a self catering holiday it is a joy to cook in this kitchen!

Living Area

This Big White chalet has a wonderful bright main sitting room with spectacular views of the mountains. There are also an additional 3 sitting areas all with big comfy sofas. There are two TV's and DVD players and both have satellite. This is a fantastically comfortable house for 12 people with loads of room for children to run around.

Dining Area

This Big White chalet has a gourmet kitchen with a table that easily seats 12 with additional seating at the breakfast bar. There is loads of crockery and glassware for all types of entertaining. It is a lovely sociable kitchen which is fully equipped. Basic food staples are provided such as oils, herbs, spices, flour & sugar etc. We also provide toilet rolls, kitchen paper towels, laundry detergent, face tissues etc!

Special Features

This wonderful dream chalet has a fantastic amount of space, it is one of the most spacious chalets on the mountain. It is luxurious and beautifully equipped. Singles, couples and families a like will enjoy the homely and comfortable atmosphere. The gourmet kitchen has everything you might need, but the mountain restaurants are also within walking distance! This is a great chalet for families with children of all ages. It has baby equipment such as cots, highchairs and plastic crockery, but it also has a lot of baby toys, children's toys and games, an art box, huge DVD library and two TV's to watch them on! There is also a pool table! The chalet has been equipped by a family for families! It pleases everyone. The Hot tub takes loads of people and provides complete privacy, there is also a wonderful steam shower to relieve the aching muscles! This chalet will be the base for a wondeful vacation which is relaxing for everyone including Mum!

Our property is located in a 5 unit towhouse complex on Whitehorse Lane called Pinnacles. Please see Map #1

Ski In Access

The ski-in access is from the end of Whitehorse Lane just off the ski run. Once off the run, you take off your skis and walk 2 mins DOWN the road to our home. Alternatively, you can take the skiier's path that takes to you the Happy Valley Gondola from the Village and cut off down between 2 buildings to Whitehorse Lane, were you would take off your skis and cross Whitehorse Lane to our driveway. Either option is a 2-3 minute walk to our door & both options let you stop in the Village at the pub on your way down!

Ski Out Access

The ski out access is to the side of our building, down to the skiier's road (just above Big White Road), that slopes downward to either to the Plaza Chair (that takes you up to the Village,or Ridge Rocket Express, that takes you up the mtn.

Village Access

You can go the end of Whitehorse Lane and walk UP the groomed ski run to the Village (5 minute walk). Alternatively, you can walk down Whitehorse Lane and across Big White Road, DOWN to the Happy Valley Gondola, where you can take a ride up to the Village. it is a 5 minute downhill walk home, where you would cut off the run at the end of Whitehorse Lane

Cancellations Made by Guests All payments are non-refundable unless your reservation can be replaced.

Guest Account Termination The Owner or their Contact reserve the right to request permanent Guest account inactivation from this web sites technical administrators in the event of one or more of the following Guest actions: intentional property policy violation causing material damage or fines, Guest misrepresentation and/or fraud, intentionally defacing or damaging public or private property, breaking laws and bylaws, theft, public indecency, harassment, causing bodily or emotional harm & disturbing the peace after repetitive warnings. Guests will be notified by email of account termination. Guests may choose to appeal their account termination. Guests may be given the chance to reconcile with the Owner as a condition of preserving or reversing their account status. Account termination prevents the Guest from booking this or any other property that uses the same web site

Reservation Changes Reservations may be changed in compliance with our cancellation policy. You may lengthen your reservation if availability permits. If you would like to shorten your reservation, please note that your deposit calculated on the orignial amount is non-refundable; if you have already paid the balance, then your balance is similarly non-refundable. If you have not paid the balance,then it will be re-adjusted to reflect your shortened reservation.

Guest Stay Policies

Check-In Time 4.15 pm. Strictly enforced.
Check-Out Time 10 am. The cleaning team arrives at approximately 9.30am
Complaints Concerning Property Report all property complaints or obvious damage caused by previous Guests to us immediately, by phone and by email as they become evident. Serious problems should be reported with supporting photographs. We will make our best efforts to rectify problems within 24 hours of notification. Failure to notify us of property-related problems while in the property and as they become evident, will forfeit any rights or claims against us regarding property condition after your departure.
Excessive Noise This is a Quiet area. There is zero tolerance for any excessive noise. Any complaints will result in eviction.
Housekeeping There is a mid stay housekeeping service included for bookings of 14 nights or more. A full housekeeping service is available at a cost of $975. The moving of furniture within the chalet is strictly forbidden. This causes a lot of damage to the walls, paintwork & furniture!. Any furniture that has been moved will be subject to a charge from your deposit for it to be returned.
Liability I am not responsible for any injuries to tennants while they are on my property or anywhere else in Big White.
Maintenance Emergencies If you require support at the chalet our Property Manager who lives on the mountain will be available to help you. Contact details will be provided with your arrival information and is also located within the property
Maximum Sleeping Capacity 12 people - you must get permission if you intend to bring in excess of 12 guests. If in excess of 12 guests is found you are liable for immediate eviction
Missing Items Guests are required to provide a $500 damage deposit prior to arrival. If an amenity or facility is damaged we will endeavour to get it replaced or repaired as quickly as possible. There may be times when these repairs are out of our control and therefore they may not be available, e,g internet or satellite services.
Noise Restrictions Excessive noise from the hot tub area is not permitted after 11 pm. Occupants may be evicted subsequent to noise complaints and will be charged for damages resulting from the noise complaints. The outdoor hot tub area can be used after 11 pm, but please engage only in quiet conversation after 11 pm out of respect for our neighboring families.

Property Damage We charge a $500 deposit which we will use if the property is found to be damaged. Upon booking you are required to send a cheque for the deposit or do a bank transfer.

Guarantees Policies

Thanks for visiting our web site! We are Kirsty and Clive Crosby. We live in the United Kingdom with our 10 year old son, rugby mad Ben and our 16 year old horse mad daughter, Jodie!. We have for the previous 20 years been travelling every year to Canada for skiing and have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the Canadian experience. As soon as we saw the Pinnacles we were blown away and completely mesmerized with the fantastic roller coaster of a ride that Big White is undergoing at present. This resort represents everything that is beautiful and special about British Columbia, right down to the wonderful people who live and work there, the post and beam construction,our fir floors and the breathtaking unobstructed views from our massive living room windows and big hot tub! Big White has become our second home. We have bought our dream house here, which we are going to enjoy with our friends and family. We are sure that we will have many happy memories of this wonderful house to cherish as has all our guests who decided to stay. Big White's charm is that it is still a hip and very cool, down to earth ski town. These towns are rapidly disappearing in BC. This resort is for people who love the outdoors and who love to ski in light, beautiful, champagne powder! It is not yet commercialized, which explains why you can still see moose and deer along the road, and grizzlies still roam on the Gem Lake side of the mountain! The only problem is that you will have a hard time leaving the chalet, because it is so comfortable, spacious, warm and friendly! Thank you for allowing our group to stay at your chalet. We found all aspects of your home to be in excellent condition and very accommodating with your detailed instruction package easy to follow. The location of the chalet is easy to access, very quiet and a true ski in/out home. As the only individual in our group that resides in Kelowna and that skis Big White on a regular basis for the past 22 years, the mountain conditions were epic with 42 cm of powder falling on January 30th-31st putting the wow factor over the top for our trip. Each year our group skis at a different location throughout North America and it was unanimous that the group would love to return to Big White and your chalet in 2-3 years.

Pinnacles is a beautiful chalet to hang out in with friends & family. The main level is perfect for playing games, doing puzzles, and just hanging out with the spectacular view! There is PLENTY of space for guests to sleep and the beds are huge and comfy. It is a bit dated inside which we liked as it was super cosy and we didn't feel like there was stuff we shouldn't touch. It is a warm and inviting chalet and the price is excellent!!!

It is a short walk down to Happy Valley (5 min), and also a short walk to the village (it is straight up the Woodcutter ski run so prepare for some cardio- about a 7 min hike but coming back down to the chalet is super fast and easy - less than 5 min).

The kitchen is well equipped and the huge dining table seats 12, which was most excellent. We loved the steam shower on the second lower level with the heated floors. This home is awesome and we would stay there again :)

Great luxury Ski Vacation home for larger group

This was a fantastic vacation home for our holiday with 2 + extended families. There were 12 of us in total, kids, teenagers and adults. Plenty of room for all and great spaces to all hang out together or separately. The lounge area is wonderful, lovely decor, fantastic views, great kitchen - well stocked with essentials, loved the hot tub right out on front deck. The younger ones loved the pool room with games and DVD library, fantastic comfy couches in the TV area. Bathrooms are all great. Handy to have full laundry facility.

Pretty good location once we got our bearings. Most of us could ski "door to door", beginners need to walk up the road about 200 m to join the ski run. Walk up to town center takes about 10 minutes. Bit of a climb to get up but well lit and super easy on the way back! You can also walk down to Happy Valley and catch gondola up from there to the village.

We would definitely return to Pinnacles 5 and we loved Big White - amazing snow and a great town with some excellent bar and dining options.

Our family of 11 were impressed with the roomy chalet and all it's amenities. With four children, the two double bunks were great. All couples had their own bedroom, which were furnished beautifully. The main floor was laid out in such a manner that we could gather in the evening comfortably to play games. We especially liked the large kitchen which is well equipped. The dining room table is large enough for 12 people . The garage is roomy enough to house one vehicle as well as all our ski equipment. We appreciated the boot drier and heated garage. The ski in ski out was fine once we figured it out. The chalet is located midway between the Village and Happy Valley, making it a short walk to both. We would definitely enjoy staying in this chalet again.

The home was a great fit for our family with lots of rooms and space for everyone. And the location was great too. The home is very well equipped and well stocked with little extras (spices, baking basics, kitchen accessories, kids toys, etc.).

Lot of room for large groups, clean and open. Had everything we needed plus some!There were 11 of us ranging in ages from 10 - 76, and everyone enjoyed the stay.The heated garage was great to keep ski gear dry and ready for the next day.

Great accommodation, too personal

On the whole, this is a beautiful ski chalet that has been well furnished and equipped. It is in a central location close to ski runs and the main village in Big White. I cannot fault the standard of accommodation. However, as a rental experience there were some challenges. The chalet owners do not have a local management company who can contacted in the village if anything goes wrong. All communications are directly with the owners who live overseas which was difficult when we had some issues on our first day of rental. Also, because all communication is directly with the owners, the entire experience was far too personal for our group - there were continual reminders that we were staying in someone's home rather than a straightforward business transaction of paying for accommodation. Some people may like that level of personal involvement in the transaction, but it was most definitely not our preference and it impacted how much we enjoyed staying there. I would stay in this chalet again, but only if it was managed differently.

A great family get away!

We stayed at the Crosby's home for five nights in February 2011. The skiing was great and the accommodation was perfect for families with kids of all ages. The play room area allowed the kids to watch TV and play games without disrupting the adults. It was also nice not to have a TV on the main floor. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, oils, spices and other dry goods. Although we always bring everything it was nice when there was an oversight not to have to try and source a missing ingredient at the hill or to travel to Kelowna. The beds and linens were comfortable. We had some minor issues with the hot tub but the on-mountain staff were able to take care of things to our satisfaction. The Crosby's were very attentive and responded very quickly to any questions or concerns. The ski in/ ski out access was great. There is a little bit of a walk to ski out but it was manageable even for our two year old! We have stayed in many different places at this hill and other hills but this one ticked all our boxes in terms of what makes for a great vacation home. We would highly recommend this rental and we definitely plan to return as soon as our schedules permit.

This location is a beautiful home with every possible need being considered, whether you bring babies, teens or just adults. We enjoyed the ability to spread out, especially with the Tv's out of the main living area. View is wonderful, beds are comfortable, atmosphere of the home is welcoming and relaxed; everything is easy to find.
