This 770 sq. ft. ground level townhome will accommodate up to 4 guests. The kitchen and dining areas open onto each other. A sunken living room contains a log burning fireplace and sliding glass doors which lead onto a private, sunny deck overlooking a greenbelt and Fitzsimmons Creek. The unit is decorated tastefully and is very comfortable.

Kitchen lit by track lighting has plenty of counter space for cooking up a storm. We have provided the unit with dishes, cutlery, glasses, pots and small appliances, everything you need to create a gourmet meal. Use items you need but please NEVER put something back in the cupboards if it is dirty. Please just leave it out for our housekeeper to take care of.

Bright room with a relaxing SW view of the greenbelt, creek and distant peaks. The living room has been tastefully redecorated with a queen size sofa-bed which has a 7 inch mattress for extra comfort, 40 " T.V. plus a stereo system, coffee table, end tables, lamps, accessories and a wood burning fireplace. A great room to sit back and enjoy a glass of wine while you watch a movie or just gaze out the large windows. A sliding door leads out onto a 10 x 12 patio.
The dining room overlooks the living room and you can enjoy the exterior view as you dine. This dining room will easily accommodate 4 individuals around the solid oak table. Create your own mood by lighting candles or dimming the wrought iron lighting fixture.

We started skiing Whistler in the early 70's. Now that we are retired we go up all year round. The spring and fall are especially great for walking, hiking and biking since there are fewer crowds and many restaurants offer great off season specials. Summer is always full of activities as is winter. We enjoy coming to our home at Whistler and try to make it comfortable for ourselves as well as our guests.

We have been to Whislter for many times, having traveling so far from home (we live in Hong Kong), a comfortable place to stay after a long journey is very important to us. This property is by far the best and the most equipped unit that we stayed in so far. The unit is on the ground floor very closed to the parking space, it makes loading and unloaded an easy task.
Like many of the previous tenants mentioned, the location of the unit is ideal for people who wants to have easy access to both Whistler and Blackcomb, everything is less than 5 mins walk.
The owner is very responsive with my requests, and are very nice too.
If I need to be picky, the couch is not very comfortable. I can't really sit there to relax without resulting a backpain. Maybe its just me who needs more supporting to my bad back.
All in all, this is a warm home away from home. We would definitely come back if the unit is available for rent in the future. Thanks for letting us to stay there.View Full Review

Good kitchen, bedding, wifi etc etc. The condo at The Gables is perfect between the lifts, restaurants, stores and shops. Easy 5 min. walk. It was absolutely perfect! The hosts called to say hi and check in. The kitchen was well equipped, it even included coffee, tea, and other basic essentials. Location was perfect. Tucked away but still close to everything, which made it nice and quiet. My husband and I stayed with our two children (5 & 6) and the space was perfect. We didn't want to leave! Wonderful, clean, well-stocked rental. I have stayed in many vacation rentals by owner and this was the best supplied home I have ever rented. The owners were very thoughtful and had a great supply of spices, oil, cookware and cooking utensils, and even bandages and antiseptic ointment. The home is very clean and comfortable.
The location is great! We only had 2 minor glitches. One, none of the HDMI outputs on the living room television worked (but the bedroom HDMI output worked seamlessly) and the other was that we never received the email prior to checking in with the unit number, policies, and check-out time (I could have missed the email, but I searched and could not find it). I had spoken with the owners before leaving for vacation and I had the unit entry code, but I forgot to ask about the condo number which resulted in our having to call them at 1 a.m. when we arrived to check in. They were so incredibly nice and helpful (especially considering it was so late).

A very comfortable property in an unbeatable location for both the main village centre and upper village. Within minutes of the main ski lifts and very quiet too. The property was exactly as described and the owners were very reliable with communication, even phoning soon after we had arrived to check everything was OK. The property was compact and yet has sufficient circulation space and clearly defined areas that allowed us to move about freely. All fittings are in a typical North American style and the most important facilities such as heating, hot water and hair dryer all worked great. Even the fridge wasn't as loud as in some places and didn't disturb my sleep. The added Christmas decorations and general details such as candy sticks were very much appreciated. It was our 2nd time staying in Unit40. As before, the unit was well maintained and stocked. The only problem we encountered this time around was the scare upon on our arrival. The entrance door lock would not open. Long story short, the original digit code provided was wrong. Please make certain that the code should be 100% accurate and a sample of instruction on digital code usage should be given (should we punch once for 1st digit and/or twice for 2nd digit as there were 2 digit numbers shown on each button...confusing?). You could imagine the scare since we did not have cell phone with us at the time.

The Gables #40 was a great place to stay. Everything we needed for our stay for days was well stocked. The palce had even pads for women iin the bathroom. And it took only three minutes to get to the ski base. We really enjoyed our stay at the Gables #40. We'll defintely come back if any chance is given.

Outstanding and beautiful 770 sq foot condo rental. Lovely outdoor deck with trees and greenery with creek can be heard nearby, otherwise quiet when windows closed. Spacious entrance with area for skis and snowboards. Free designated parking stall for unit 40 only, pass required on rear view mirror. Fully equipped kitchen and other supplies. Owners very friendly and helped me with online booking and free tour of condo and vicinity. Base rate was cad$ 89 per night, minimum 2 weeks stay; one of the lowest priced accommodations in Whistler. Bike wash station beside building. Short walk to Upper Village, Village Stroll, Olympic Plaza. I highly recommend this condo vacation rental. No wheelchair access.

Very spacious unit for a one bedroom. The kitchen is the most well stocked I've seen yet. Everything worked fine. The heater in the living room was a little weak, but there is also a fireplace to compliment.

We stayed 4 nights in mid Feb. Having previously only ever stayed in Creekside we were very impressed and happy with the location - 5 mins to Whistler village and less than 3 mins to Merlins at the foot of Blackcomb). Condo itself was homely and had a very well equipped kitchen. Booking went smoothly and owners even called during the stay just to check everything was to our liking. Thoroughly recommend - will definitely book again if/when we come back to Whistler.

This is a very nice condo in a perfect location close to both the Whistler and Blackcomb bases. This is a smaller condo complex situated in a low-key place away from the hustle/bustle of the village stroll. I liked everything about the condo and really appreciated several key items. These includes not having to worry about dealing with a management company or arrival/departure for keys and such; not paying for parking and having a dedicated parking spot; having a huge mud room for storing skis and gear as you walk through the front door; lots of open space to move around. The two things on the recommendation list are: 1) getting a newer mattress...the mattress is a bit saggy (not bad but showing its' age) and has some stains. 2) There is no garbage disposal in the kitchen which just requires more patience with dumping all leftovers and such into the trash. Overall, very nice condo, great value and would stay again.

From the service we received when booking from Douglas and Rose, we knew this was going to be a great place to stay. They answered any questions we had thoroughly and quickly. The pre-arrival pack had all the information we needed, so when we arrived we walked straight in and felt right at home. The location was great, about 3 minutes walk from Blackcomb gondola and 5 from Whistler - and similar to shops, restaurants etc... The actual property had absolutely everything we could have asked for. It was very spacious, yet cosy and we felt right at home straight away. If we return to Whistler (from UK) then I would look straight away at booking this place.

If you don't require room service and close proximity to the noisy night life, this comfortable, conveniently-located condo is a great place to stay at Whistler. Located in the upper village, it is convenient to the Blackcomb base, and an easy walk to all of the other activities in Whistler Village. Rose and Doug, the owners of this charming unit, have set up their place to include everything you will need to enjoy your stay. There is a comfortable queen-size bed, jetted tub, fireplace, fully set-up kitchen, two televisions, and comfortable furniture. There is also assigned free parking.
