Welcome to The Stellar Star on Spencer Lane...  Our beautiful vacation rental home, waiting for you!  Absolute Ski in/Ski out, with the Attridge Chair (Alpine Meadows) ski-way immediately behind the house, and the Alpine Meadows chair 50 M away, making the beginning and end of the day so easy and convenient!

Soak in the hot tub, steps out the back door, with the snow-laden forest and Alpine Meadows runs strertching up the hill behind you, or sit next to the fireplace enjoying the view over the night-lit Silver Queen chair and skating pond.  2-3 Car Private parking steps from the door makes the beginning and ending of your vacation holiday so easy!  The Stellar Star is equiped with everything to make your holiday special, from a completely stocked and ammentied kitchen to a selection of beds and rooms.  Dedicated WiFi, 3 flat screen cable TV's, gas fireplace, free shared laundry facilities, and of course all of the common kitchen amenities such as new dinnerware and flatware, stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher make for a pampered vacation experience. Keyless entry makes your arrival and departure painless, as we will provide you with a unique code prior to your arrival.

Property Description

Park in the private 2 car parking space, and enter the magic of the Stellar Star!  Ground floor covered porch allows for such an easy beginning and end to your vacation holiday!    Stepping past the inviting hot tub located just steps from the back door, the entry boasts huge closet space for all you outer gear.  The massive main floor bathroom allows for attention to those 'immediate' needs, when coming in after a hard day or morning of skiing.  Stairs lead up to 3 bedrooms, and another full 4 piece bathroom there.  Turn right, and you enter into the open concept dining room, kitchen, and living and lounging space.  A gas fireplace awaits, as does the spectacular views over the night-lit Silver Queen runs, tube town, and skating pond.

SPECIAL:  For those guests needing wheel-chair access, a ramp extends from the parking lot to the level entry back door.  The huge main floor bath is set up for complete wheel-chair accessibility, wht a level entry shower, and soft-front sink.  Wide access hallways take you to the open concept living room/dining room/ kitchen area.  A double sofabed makes the house perfectly suited for those with mobility restrictions.

Sleeping Areas & Beds

The Stellar Star - Upper has 3 bedrooms on the 2nd story.  The master bedroom comes with a beautiful alcove sitting area with a fantastic view out onto the snow-laden mountain scene below.  The other 2 bedrooms look out over the Silver Queen runs, beautifully lit at night.  There are 2 additional bedrooms plus a sofa bed in the seperate suite on the ground floor.  This suite can be included in the rental of the entire house to expand sleeping capacity to 15 persons!!  The lower suite living area and bedrooms have full sized windows and complete daylight access.

Ski vacations are usually built around fantastic snow, great days on the slopes, and FOOD!!  The kitchen of the Star is a focal point of the house, with all of the ammenities to make meal preparation as easy and conventient as it is at you home, with a 4 place breakfast bar for quick snacks, lunch or whatever suits you.  The large kitchen allows for multiple cooks, which on ski vacations only make for better broths!  A full-sized dishwasher makes the clean-up as easy as possible.

The kitchen comes stocked with all of the items which will help make you ski vacation memorable....  matching dinner and flatware, crockpot, blender, coffee maker, ....... the list goes on.  Suffice to say that you will find this kitchen as well or better equipped than yours at home.  Basic staples (sugar (brown and white), salt and pepper, all spices, coffee filters, tea bags, ziplocks, tupperware, serviettes, paper towel,......  again almost everything and anything that your kitchen at home is stocked with.

Living Area

The living froom is set up with comfortable couches and chairs surrounding the beautiful gas fireplace and 50" HD TV and entertainment center, with throws for snuggling in after a hard day on the slopes.  Full length windows look downhill and acroos to the Silver Queen runs, beautifully lit for night skiing.  A wide selection of games and puzzles are kept in the upstairs hall closet for your use and enjoyment.

Dining Area

The dining area is superbly equipped for large groups with a expansive wooden oak table and 8 matching chairs.  The windows in this area allow for wonderful natural light, while looking out over the snow laden scene of the mountainside.  Place settings allow for 'cultured' dining..

Special Features

  This chalet is designed for privacy and adaptable function.  The house sleeps 9 in 3 bedrooms, totallying 6 beds, but can be expanded to accomodate 11 with the addition of a 'flex' 2 person double bed room which is off of the common laundry.  This room can be added to the rental for an additional fee.  A lower 1+ bedroom suite (sleeps 4) can be added to the upper chalet rental to stretch total accomodation capacity for the entire house to 15 persons, while still providing private spaces for blended groups.  The two suites are joined by a common laundry on the ground floor of the house.

SPECIAL:  The Stellar Star was designed and built for wheel-chair access.  The access starts from the house-level parking.  A wheelchair ramp extends along the back of the house to a level entry door.  The main floor is completely set up for complete wheelchair function, with shower, sink and toilet all buildt with design and room for wheel-chair accessibility.  A new main floor sofa-bed completes the mobility restricted package.

Ski vacations are all about location, location, and The Stellar Star on Spencer Lane is location plus!!!  If you were to pick the essentials, must haves, and must wants, they will likely include:

True Ski in/Ski out, easy vehicle access with private, close-in parking, walking distance to all ammenities, yet private, quiet setting....  Stellar Star... check, check, check!! 

Our private yet close-in location is just off the main road leading to the village, which makes for an easy 5 minute level walk to the village center, and 5 minutes across the night-lit overpass (no need for young ones to walk the road) to the tube town and skating pond.  The Alpine Meadows ski-way runs 10 steps from the back door...  up 5 steps, click on your skiis, one or 2 pushes and you are standing at the Alpine Meadows lift, from which you can access the entire mountain.  Kids or yourself just learing to ski?  The ski-way overpass takes you gently down to the Silver Queen beginner lift, a fantastic place to learn. 

The private, plowed, 2 car parking is 10 steps from the covered back door entrance.  What more can you want...?!?

Suitability & Eligibility Policies

The Stellar Star on Spencer is a family oriented rental.  The minimum age for the primary renter is 25 years.  The property is not suitable for bachelor, bachelorette, stag, graduation, or pretty much any party-oriented purpose.  We are geared and set up for families, and would welcome yours to share our space with.  Unfortunately due to family allergies, as well as striving to provide an allergy-free environment for those guests with the same, we have to say NO to having pets stay in our chalet.

Babies, Kids & Teens The Stellar Star is perfect for family groups with babes and kids of all ages. Completely safe areas for kids to explore and play are right outside the back door, and overpass and ski-way access allows for complete freedom from the worry about road etc for your young ones.
Long Term Renters (Monthly) Longer term stays will be considered, but we are set up for and prices reflect shorter-term stays.
No Smoking Inside - Smoking Outside Permitted We do not discriminate against smokers, only require and insist that they smoke outside, and that all butts are disposed of properly and safely!
People with Restricted Mobility Property access and interior are suitable for persons of restricted mobility. Feel free to contact us for details.
Seniors We welcome seniors.
Wheelchairs Property can accommodate wheelchair use and wheelchair access. The main floor bathroom is level entry with a fold-down seat, and the sink soft front sink allows for complete wheelchair access. Bedrooms are either up or downstairs however.
Not Suitable For:
Graduation & Stag/Stagette Parties Absolutely no grad, stag or stagette parties allowed.
Pets Unfortunately we have pet allergies in our family, and also strive to provide as comfortable an environment for those guests who might have the same, so we have to say NO to PETS.... Sorry.
Young Adult Groups 17-24 With Accompanying Age-Eligible Adult(s) Young adult groups age 17-24 not permitted, even if accompanied by adults who meet our minimum age requirement. Exceptions are highly unlikely, but may be possible under extraordinary circumstances.

Reservation & Cancellation Policies

Cancellations Made by Guests All payments are non-refundable. Refunds will be issued for re-booked dates at the re-booked price and are subject to a 4% cancellation fee. Travel insurance is recommended to protect yourself against any unexpected events involving your lodging, flights or vacation-related products.
Delayed Arrivals No refunds. We are not responsible for circumstances which result in delayed arrivals. Travel insurance is recommended to protect yourself against any unexpected events involving your lodging, flights or vacation-related products.
Delivery of Instructions and Access Information Check-in and arrival instructions will be emailed upon balance payment.
Guest Account Termination The Owner or their Contact reserve the right to request permanent Guest account inactivation from this web sites technical administrators in the event of one or more of the following Guest actions: intentional property policy violation causing material damage or fines, Guest misrepresentation and/or fraud, intentionally defacing or damaging public or private property, breaking laws and bylaws, theft, public indecency, harassment, causing bodily or emotional harm & disturbing the peace after repetitive warnings. Guests will be notified by email of account termination. Guests may choose to appeal their account termination. Guests may be given the chance to reconcile with the Owner as a condition of preserving or reversing their account status. Account termination prevents the Guest from booking this or any other property that uses the same web site
Ineligible Guests Reservation Reversal The Owner or their Contact reserves the right to cancel reservations made by, and refuse business to: Guests who do not meet the policies published in this property's Policies Table at the time of booking and past Guests known to have : intentionally violated rental property policies, damaged and/or defaced rental properties through intentionally destructive and/or negligent behavior, engaged in theft, broken local bylaws and laws, committed fraud or who misrepresented themselves, and Guests who have caused bodily or emotional harm to any third parties. Reservations may be cancelled up to a maximum of 48 hours from the time the ineligible Guest made the booking. Guests will be issued a refund by personal cheque. Refunds will be adjusted for any payment processing expenses
Late Reservation Payments Failure to pay by the due dates will result in automatic cancellation without a deposit refund. Guests can re-book dates if they are still available; deposit will not be re-charged.

Guest Stay Policies

Complaints Concerning Property Report all property complaints or obvious damage caused by previous Guests to us immediately, by phone and by email as they become evident. Serious problems should be reported with supporting photographs. We will make our best efforts to rectify problems within 24 hours of notification. Failure to notify us of property-related problems while in the property and as they become evident, will forfeit any rights or claims against us regarding property condition after your departure.
Excessive Cleaning Costs Guests authorize a credit card charge for excessive cleaning costs.
Excessive Noise Excessive noise is grounds for eviction. There will be NO refund!
Forgotten Items by Guest Please let us know if you have forgotten items after you have left. We will inform the cleaning staff, and endeavour to return these to you.
Garbage Removal Guests are responsible for placing garbage and recycling to the collection area. G & R will be removed off site by the housekeeping staff.
Hot Tub Hot tub usage guidelines are posted outside by the tub, as well as in the cabin resource and information binder. All users are required to shower prior to use. Plastic cups are provided for hot tub use, and NO glass is allowed in the hot tub area. Excessive cleaning costs due to improper use will be charged to the credit card.
Housekeeping Provided before arrival and after departure. Additional housekeeping may be available on request at your expense.
Internet Availability & Usage Illegal downloads forbidden. Should we receive notification that such activity has occurred, the Guest responsible will be immediately evicted and charged for damages.
Liability We assume no liability implied or accepted, for use of The Stellar Star. This includes snow falling from the roof, trees or structures, slippage on ice, hot tub use, etc.
Locking Door Guests are required to securely lock all doors and entrances when they are not in the unit and especially upon departure.
Maintenance Emergencies Available on mountain, by contact with owner.
Maximum Sleeping Capacity 11
Missing Items Our housekeeping staff has a list of all items included in the rental property. Missing items will be charged to the guest.
Noise Restrictions No noise after 10pm. This includes excessive noise during hot tub use. Please respect the spirit of our neighborhood. We have neighbors that we like and respect. Repeated excessive noise complaints with be grounds for eviction, with NO refund.
Property Damage Guests are responsible for all damage caused during your stay. We require that you inform us as soon as damage occurs, or is noted. This is especially important upon arrival, if you note that there is damage that has occurred before your arrival.
Rental Accommodation Zoning
Resort Information Provided in check-in and arrival instructions email, upon balance payment.
Ski & Snowboard Gear Storage Secure ski storage is provided outside by the back entry. No skis or snowboards are allowed in the house itself. Damage or excessive cleaning to the property due to your equipment will result in extra charges to your credit card.
Terms of Eviction Will be evicted for excessive noise, common or private property damage or threat of damage, disturbing the peace, excess of maximum sleeping capacity, or violation of any of our policies. You will not receive a refund!

Wonderful ski vacation! Accommodation was everything we were hoping for, it was spacious, clean, had an awesome hot tub and well stocked with everything we needed. The location was perfect, ski in and ski out made it easy to come in for a quick lunch and it was a quick walk into the village in the evening. Josh was quick to respond and extremely accommodating. Would highly recommend this rental property!

Our ski group of 10 were all impressed with the Stellar Star. Great house in a great location. Easy ski in/out and 10 minute walk to village....just buy your lift tickets ahead of time as the run down to the village a bit time consuming. Everyone was impressed with the layout, cleanliness, furnishings and well supplied kitchen. We have already decided to return next year.

Overall, the Stellar Star home was spacious and provided a good location for alpine skiing access. Not as ideal for nordic. The owner, Josh, was very responsive and accommodating throughout the entire process of booking and even during our stay.

Given this was the first season as being offered as a rental, the Stellar Star was well appointed with all that was needed during our stay, including new and comfortable living room furniture.

Our only concerns was that the bedroom descriptions on the listing did not match what we experienced as we had expected a fourth bedroom in the main unit (not shared with the lower suite) and that the hot tub while listed as private for the upper unit guests was used by the lower unit guests during our stay (could be that the lower unit guests were unaware). Again, Josh was understanding and said he would make the description more clear on the bedrooms.
