Sun Peaks is  brimming  with recreational activities for young and old alike.    Enjoy the splendor and beauty of all four seasons at Sun Peaks from our modern and comfortable mountain holiday home at picturesque McGillivray Creek Townhomes nestled in the alpine wonderland. Take pleasure in the pristine beauty and whisper of nearby McGillivray Creek.   Our townhome is a spacious yet warm and cozy three story chalet with an open floor plan featuring a vaulted ceiling and large widows with unobstructed beautiful mountain views.  Park your vehicle for your entire stay.   Our unit is uniquely located in a low traffic and quiet area of our townhome complex which is situated near the heart of  the village and within a short walk on well groomed and lighted village trails to all the amenities Sun Peaks has to offer.  Ski in and ski out is by the Mount Morrisey Lift.

Following an active day of seasonal activities take time to relax in our private outdoor covered hot tub or snuggle down by the river rock fireplace in the comfort of the family area with your favorite music or a movie while enjoying the scenic view of Mount Tod.   

Enjoy home cooked meals in our spacious fully outfitted and well stocked kitchen with heated tile floors or experience the many fine restaurants in the village.   During your visit be sure to savor a meal on the barbecue located on our large partially covered deck.

The unit has spacious sleeping accommodations along with heated tile floor bathrooms including a master bedroom ensuite.

Our unit is well equipped with wireless internet, an entertainment center with a docking station, an outdoor covered private hot tub and private laundry facilities.

There is free reserved parking which includes a heated single car garage in our unit with private secure equipment storage. An additional private parking stall is located directly outside the unit.  Visitor parking is also available adjacent to our unit.  For your convenience there are door coded entries on the garage and main entrance door.

A Unique Experience

Park your vehicle for your entire stay.  During the winter, spend many bright sunny days enjoying  nearby resort activities including downhill skiing and boarding, cross country skiing, tobogganing, snowshoeing, skating and hockey, snow tubing, horse drawn sleigh rides, dog sledding, back country snow machine excursions, swimming in the outdoor pool and hot tubs at the sports complex, taking skiing and boarding lessons or simply exploring the resort on the well groomed and lighted village trails.  During the warmer months experience the fresh fragrance of the pristine alpine environment while golfing at the Grahame Cooke designed Sun Peaks Golf Course, playing tennis, walking in the village or hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, fishing and wildlife viewing in the scenic alpine wilderness.  Access to alpine areas for hiking and mountain biking may be by chairlift.  Be sure to watch for special events during your stay including wine festivals, sporting events, performances and weekend markets at https://www.sunpeaksresort.com/events-and-festivals .  Enjoy the fine restaurants and visit the village shops featuring sportswear, sporting equipment and art work by local artists and craftsmen.

Property Description

Our townhome is a spacious warm and cozy home with an open floor plan and large widows with unobstructed mountain views.  Seasonal decor and artwork are displayed on all three levels.The main level highlights an open kitchen, dining and family area.   The dining area seats ten as well as counter seating. The family area features a cathedral ceiling, large windows  and an adjoining large partially covered deck and barbecue.  There is a bathroom on the main floor including a walk in shower.  Enjoy heated tile flooring in the main entry, kitchen and bathrooms. While relaxing in the family area take pleasure in the beautiful view of Mount Tod along with the ambience of the river stone fireplace and entertainment center.  The upper level consists of three good sized bedrooms, a main bathroom, and a master bedroom.  Bathrooms have tubs with showers.  The master bedroom has a queen bed, large closet, dresser and large windows and opens on to a deck.  The second bedroom has a queen bed, a large closet and two windows.  The third bedroom has a tri-bunk (twin over queen), a large closet and dresser and window.  Washer and dryer and iron/ironing board are provided on this level. The lower level features a heated oversized private and secure single vehicle garage/equipment storage room and an activity room with access to our private outdoor covered hot tub.  The activity room/fourth bedroom has a queen sofa bed, large closet and windows.  Facilities are available on this level for storing and drying sports gear. The main entrance and garage feature key pad entries. There is a free, private single parking stall directly outside the unit.  Free visitor parking is also available adjacent to our vacation home.

Sleeping areas include three spacious bedrooms on the upper level and a sofa bed in the acitivity room on the lower level.  All sleeping areas have good sized closets, windows and doors.  All but one sleeping area have dressors.  The master bedroom on the upper level has an ensuite and opens on to a deck.

The kitchen is a modern full sized bright room adjoining the dining area. It is fully equipped for preparing family sized meals. There is a large window and additional lighting over the double kitchen sink.  Under counter lighting adds to the cozy atmosphere.  The counters are accented with tile backsplashes.    Tap water at Sun Peaks is safe to drink.  For your convenience a drinking water crock is located in the kitchen. It accepts 5 gallon water jugs.

Living Area

The family area has a cathedral style ceiling and ceiling fan along with a two storey window providing a great view of Mount Tod.  The staircase to the upper level which opens to the family area has a large window providing brightness to the family area throughout the day.  The family area opens out onto an adjoining large deck through a sliding door with large windows.  With an open floor plan the family area is continuous with the dining area.  The flooring is burber carpeting.   The center piece of the family room is a beautiful gas fired river rock fireplace with a heavy fir mantle.  An entertainment center is located in the family area.  Furnishings include a leather couch and love seat, a single arm chair and an oak buffet, coffee table and end table.  Decor includes rustic outdoor winter recreation equipment and decorations complementing the country townhome theme of our unit.  

Dining Area

The dining area is located between and open to the family area and the kitchen.  The area measures about 12 X 14 feet.  The flooring is burber carpeting.  The dining table is a heavy natural finished oak table with matching chairs.  The table will seat 10 easily.  As well there are two bar stools for additional seating at the kitchen counter. The area is lighted with a dimmable chandelier.

Lofted/Cathedral Ceilings The family area has a signature two storey cathedral ceiling to which the staircase to the upper level opens. The full two storey window provides a beautiful view of Mount Tod and the Sunburst Express Chairlift.
Trim The interior and exterior of our unit are trimmed with natural stained fine grained fir. The exterior is finished in stucco with beautiful fir knee braces and solid wood deck timbers and fascia. The entrances are adorned with fine looking traditional lanterns. The interior window, doorway trim, passage doors and mantle are all finished in eye-catching beautifully stained fir.
Views Excellent views of Mount Tod ski runs and the Sunburst Express Chairlift can be seen from the family room window, the large stairwell window, the large deck and from two of the bedrooms.

McGillivray Creek Unit Number 1 is located on attractive grounds near pristine McGillivray Creek in a quiet low traffic area and a short walk on well lighted village trails to all the amenities Sun Peaks has to offer.  Amenities include restaurants, pubs and shops, down hill and nordic ski-in/out access, snow shoeing, public swimming pool, skating rink, free sleigh riding hill, golf course and tennis courts.  Our townhome features include a fully equipped kitchen, private outdoor hot tub (ski season), large deck and barbecue, entertainment center, river stone gas fireplace, secure wireless internet, private laundry facilities, private secure sports equipment storage, private secure parking  and coded door access.

Reservation & Cancellation Policies
