About Us

We are a Vancouver Island family. We've owned the condo for over 20 years, and truly enjoy our "escapes" to Whistler. Alan is an avid, although not great, skier. He also enjoys golfing at the three Whistler courses in the summertime.

We had a fun, hassle-free slopeside long weekend in this comfortable, family friendly unit. The property owner was a helpful and responsive host, which made booking and checking-in a breeze. The pool and hot tub were a hit with everyone in family. We also appreciated being able to deal with our ski rentals right in the lobby of the facility and the convenience of the ski valet. The only reason we did not give five stars to the development is because one of the two elevators serving the unit was out of order for two days during our visit, which was a minor annoyance during "rush hours".

The condo is so well set up and comfortable. The kitchen had gadgets you didn't even know you needed, but came in handy. This was such a perfect location for quick in and out skiing (using the ski valet near the main lobby). Most appreciated was Alan's great communication and obvious concern for his guests. Friends stayed at a different property and the host did not communicate at all, It was so confusing for them. Alan made sure we knew EVERY detail of his condo, parking and surrounding property. Really helpful! Alan's place has whimsical artwork and touches that really show a love for the Whistler area-- in all seasons! Lovely!

Great location for family getaway

Great property - we have been at the Aspens many time before due to the ski in/out facility, and easy access to Blackcomb. First time booking this apartment, and everything was as advertised. Good price compare to the rest available in the same area.

Owner was very quick to respond and provided with all necessary information on time - even received mail in confirmation about payment receive and such.

It did inform us on time of an issue with the bathroom fan, which couldn't get fixed on time before our visit. Just a minor inconvenience. The king size bed was great, and the kids didn't complain too much about the pull out sofa in the living room.

Only negative, was the heat in the unit - I suppose it is very much a facility issue - we had to sleep with windows opened, as whatever we were doing, it was still way too hot - I like no more than 20C in the room and sleep in 17C or lower, and it was definitely way higher than this.

Our family of 4 (2 adults 2 kids) stayed for two nights of skiing. We have stayed in many places in Whistler and generally like to stay at the Coast Blackcomb just up the hill from the Aspens. This was our first time at the Aspens and we thought this unit was great. Very clean, well located, top floor unit. The king bed was very comfortable. We love the ski in ski out. The lobby of the Aspens is beautiful. We will stay here again!

Best Condo so far I've rented from AlluraDirect

This is the best condo to this date that I've rented from alluraDirect and other vacation rental developments outside of Whistler . It's very clean and well maintained. There was not a speck of thing that was broken or needs to be fixed both functionally and esthetics wise. The furnitures, fixtures and the other finishing is beyond what I expect from a vacation rental, I would say items that are fit for my own private use. The owner was extremely responsive. Sometimes, I got response immediately within a few minutes. I don't remember getting a response beyond two hours. The location is very prime. I either stay at Fairmont Chateau or another alluraDirect property next to it. In my opinion, Fairmont Chateau and this condo are at the same excellent level. I would only hope I get this condo again on my next visit to Whistler, and Whistler is my favorite ski destination in the entire planet.

We stayed in this lovely apartment for a weekend of early-season skiing in Whistler. We are a family of 4: 2 adults and 2 kids aged 4 and 6. This apartment in particular, and Aspens in general, exceeded our expectations.

I had a query before booking and Alan, the owner, was very responsive. Booking was very easy, and Alan swiftly provided an email with very clear instructions and all the information required for our arrival and stay.

The Aspens complex is right on the slope of Blackcomb, so ski-in, ski-out is very easy. Our 4 year old is not yet up to that, but even with him it was a fairly easy walk up the hill from the Blackcomb ski-school.

One of the best features of the Aspens is the outdoors hot-tub - having a soak after a day of skiing is just great. There are 2 hot tubs and they are fairly large so it does not get too crowded. There is also a heated swimming pool.

The apartment itself was beautiful, nicely decorated and had everything that we needed. It has a great view, looking out onto the pool courtyard and the ski-slopes, and mountains behind.

The bedroom is spacious and has a very comfortable bed (and a very large TV!). We used the fold-out sofa-bed for the kids and it seemed comfortable enough. The gas fireplace is lovely and besides providing heat, it creates a nice ambiance.

After a day of skiing the kids (and parents!) preferred to stay in and we appreciated being able to prepare our own meals. I particularly liked the fact that the kitchen was well-equipped: this is clearly a kitchen used by the owner, so no shortage on pots, pans and utensils, and a full-size stove/oven and fridge. Coffee, tea, sugar etc was provided.

We really loved our stay in this apartment and would love to be back.

Our family had an excellent, relaxing vacation at the Aspen's. Alan's place is wonderful and overlooking the mountains and pools make it a great spot to just sit back and watch the view. It had all the necessary things in the kitchen and if you forgot to pack something IGA is only a short 10 mins walk. It had many upgrades and the air conditioner in the living room was a nice touch.

The reason I gave it a four star for the value is everyone is always looking for a deal but it is well worth the price. The pool and 2 hot tubs are excellent and we enjoyed it. If you bring up your bikes you are now able to look them up around the pool area and even the trees but just remember to bring your lock.

During the summer months you are able to park on the road, so if you find it grab it quickly as it will save you some money and that's always good. Thanks Alan for the lovely stay at your place and we will difiently stay there again.

Nice summer vacation at the Aspens

This unit was very clean and nicely decorated. Everything was great nice new carpets and the kitchen was well stocked and the beds were very comfy. The only thing we could not get to work was the DVD player. We've stayed in a few other units in this complex and this is now our favorite. We love the location of the unit and the Aspens for it's ease of getting in and out.

During the summer months we just park up the street because we find the parking rates to high. It would be nice to have a few more bike racks in the bike storage room it's always so full and difficult to get a spot otherwise everything is very well maintained.

We really enjoyed our stay at this condo. The rooms were really clean and comfortable. It was a cozy and comfortable. The kitchen was a little small (which was the only reason we gave it a 4) but had everything we needed! We loved the pool and the hot tubs and used them every day. We also liked the ski in ski out option. It was a short walk to Whistler Village which we took advantage of every day.

The owners made use feel welcome in their condo and were available to answer any questions that we had. We are hoping to stay here again soon!

We stayed just one night so that we could get two days of skiing in. Everything was really clean. The bed in the bedroom is huge; I stayed on the pullout couch and it was still comfy. Location is a bit of a walk from the main village but the free shuttle takes you there no problem and it was about a $5-7 cab ride back late at night. Owner had great communication before the stay.

This is my first time to book a trip at Aspens, I am very glad about my choice. The room is perfect for a small family of up to 4 people and is well equipped with everything you will need for a short/long term stay. The building itself is at an expellant location with extremely close access to the gondola, grocery and Whistler Village. Very nice unit. I have stayed in the Aspens many times. Affordable, for the price I would say one of the nicer units in the building. Nice touch with the frozen beer mugs in the fridge. As well, having the unit upgraded with a flat screen.PVR and easy use iPod Stereo was very nice.

The room was clean and well stocked with all the kitchen stuff you need. Enjoyed the view of the lift and the pools. The frosted mugs in the freezer and the toboggans on the deck are a nice touch.

Good space and great value

The condo was as described and met our needs. We were impressed with the comfort of the king sized bed and even though there was no air conditioning, we managed to have good sleeps. The suite does get very warm on hot days and doesn't get a lot of breeze because it's near the corner of the building but with the fans going, it was comfortable enough at night. We checked out the sofabed in the living room and found it lumpy and on the thin side. It's probably ok for kids or young people but not so much for guests like us who are more accustomed to pillow top mattresses :-). The kitchen was fairly well-equipped and the appliances were kept very clean. The location is great, just up the hill from the Fairmont Chateau Whistler and within easy walking distance to the main village. Alan was very responsive and we will keep this condo in mind for a ski weekend in winter.
