My husband and I were both raised in Fernie and have lived here most of our lives.
We purchased our century old home 16 years ago and since then it has been our labour of love.
5 years ago we undertook a major renovation where we lifted the home and put it on a new foundation. At that time we were able to make the home more energy efficient, so that it runs like a new home, but still has century old charm.
We are avid skiers and love all the activities that Fernie has to offer year round. We have chosen to stay in Fernie so that we can offer our children the life style we were fortunate to grow up living. ( Thanks Mom and Dad!!)
We have seen alot of changes to Fernie over the years, and feel proud to show off what was when we were kids a best kept secret.

We have stayed at the Amundsden accomodation two times , last year & this year . We have enjoyed both stays. Ann& her family are very accomodating , nothing is a problem . We had a wonderful time at the Amundsen place in Fernie. It was a perfect base for our skiing vacation - really close to everything, a short walk downtown, the kitchen was well equipped, the beds comfortable and everything was so clean! Best of all, we had use of the hot tub every night to soak our sore muscles. This suite is decorated with greys and blues and whites. The art on the walls is cheery made by local artists. My feet loved the heated floors. The beds were comfy to sleep in and had cozy white down duvets. The extra large tv screen was great to watch a movie on to wind down after a adventurous day around town.
Wonderful ski condo - comfortable & attractive space + hot tub

My husband and I stayed at the Amundsen's condo with two couple friends for a great ski holiday. The condo was very comfortable, with 2 bedrooms plus space for an air mattress. The kitchen was well-stocked, and the living room was great for socializing. The condo was a short drive from Fernie Alpine Resort, and the hot tub was awesome for apres ski. The Amundsens were great hosts. Their rental unit is in the basement of their home, and they were more than accommodating -- from greeting us when we arrived, to inviting us to a family birthday party and hockey game, to allowing us a late check-out so as to get in extra ski time on our last day. We would definitely recommend this for a ski holiday for couples, a group of friends, or a family -- great value!
