The Gables Condo Unit #5

The Gables is one of Whistler’s only true ski-in/ski-out residences to both Whistler & Blackcomb mountains. Located adjacent to the village, the Gables is situated in a forest that is literally a 2min walk to either Whistler Mountain or Blackcomb Mountain, Whistler Village, the Chateau Whistler Golf Course & Lost Lake Park & trails. In the summer you can swim in Lost Lake and hang out at the beach.

The Gables unit #5 is a main floor, newly renovated unit, with a large patio and greenspace steps away from all the action, but at the same time due to the privacy of the forest and the Fitszimmons River that runs next to the Gables, it is sheltered from all noise and sound which gives it a very private feeling. Mountain Bikers welcome!

Unit #5 is a ground floor 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom newly renovated unit with wood fire place, modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and granite counters and modern bathrooms. The master bedroom contains a comfortable queen size bed with ensuite bathroom, with guest bedroom containing a comfortable Murphy double bed plus a  double bed pull-out sofa in  the linving room  to accommodate up to 6 guests. The unit includes 2 flatscreen televisions, cable and free internet services, all cookeware and dishes needed as well as plenty of storage for sporting equipment.

Cancellations Made by Guests All payments are non-refundable. Refunds will be issued for re-booked dates at the re-booked price and are subject to a 4% cancellation fee. Travel insurance is recommended to protect yourself against any unexpected events involving your lodging, flights or vacation-related products.

Delivery of Instructions and Access Information Check-in and arrival instructions will be emailed upon balance payment.
Guest Account Termination The Owner or their Contact reserve the right to request permanent Guest account inactivation from this web sites technical administrators in the event of one or more of the following Guest actions: intentional property policy violation causing material damage or fines, Guest misrepresentation and/or fraud, intentionally defacing or damaging public or private property, breaking laws and bylaws, theft, public indecency, harassment, causing bodily or emotional harm & disturbing the peace after repetitive warnings. Guests will be notified by email of account termination. Guests may choose to appeal their account termination. Guests may be given the chance to reconcile with the Owner as a condition of preserving or reversing their account status. The Gables Unit #5 is owned by a Canadian family with one of the members living and working on site. The Champoux family have been working all their lives in the Ski & Snowboard Industry owning several ski shops and ski schools. They are an adventurous family that love skiing, snowboarding, golfing, sailing, mountain biking & surfing.

A+ everything except for WIFI

The Gables is the absolute best location for staying in Whistler. A two minute walk to the left is the Upper Village where the Blackcomb lift and Merlin's Pub is located. Then about 5 mins to the right is the Village stroll where the Whistler Mountain lifts are located, along with every shop, restaurant, bar, etc. is located. We are so happy that we found this perfect rental because without it, we have not ventured out to the other lifts/areas.

The owners were very accommodating and let us check out a bit late AND keep our luggage at the rental until our shuttle came to pick us up in the afternoon.

The only downside to the location was the wi-fi. On our first night, I called the owner and let him know that the internet was not working. He instructed me to unplug the router and plug it back in - problem fixed. But once it was connected it was SO slow. We could barely load a single webpage without waiting ten minutes. This was rather disappointing given that we were visiting from Hawaii and our cellphones had no service. We were really relying on good wifi and didnt think it would be an issue because the owner let us know that he pays for super fast connections. The plus side is that most of Whistler Village has free wifi that we connected to while we were in restaurants/shops.

I would definitely recommend staying here and hope that it is available next time I visit :)

Comfortable and great location

We had a great time and enjoyed the short walk to the village. The unit was clean and comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The only change I would suggest would be an 11:00 checkout rather than 10:00. It was a bit of a scramble to get out in time.

The unit was very nice and spacious, and the kitchen was stocked with everything you would need. It was very quiet which was great since my husband was doing Ironman that weekend. The owners were able to accommodate an early check in which was appreciated. The location is perfect - not in the noisy village but only steps away.

We did have an issue with some glass on the floor which we couldn't figure out if it was missed by the cleaners or if somehow we had broke something and were not aware? Also, there isn't any visitor parking - we had to get creative when our friend was visiting with us.

Very clean unit. We would love to stay there again. The location is convenient to both mountains/lifts, shopping, restaurants. Peak to Peak gondola is only open on weekends now so we took a delightful hike to Nairn Falls (north of Whistler) on a sunny, 70 degree day in October. Thank you for sharing your condo with us!

We stayed in this condo for 3 weeks in July. It was outstanding. The location is quiet and hidden from much of the noise of the main Village, but it is very close to everything. The owner and her daughter were responsive to any needs or questions we had. Overall, it was an excellent experience. I hope to return again for many years to come.

L'alloggio è risultato sopra le nostre aspettative. E' immerso nella natura ma allo stesso tempo a soli 3 minuti dal villaggio di Whistler. A pochi passi scorre il fiume Fitzsimmons, si oltrepassa con un ponte che consiglio di vedere anche di sera in quanto si illumina offrendo una vista molto suggestiva. A soli 15 minuti di cammino arrivate al Lost lake dove potrete fare pic-nic, prendere il sole e anche farvi il bagno (chiaramente se andate in estate come me). Ritornando all'alloggio, è molto accogliente, pulito e munito di ogni confort (bagni con pavimenti riscaldati, vasca idromassaggio, asciugacapelli, TV schermo piatto, stereo, WiFi, lavastoviglie, lavatrice etc.).Ha due camere da letto e considerando il divano letto nel salottino può ospitare fino a 6 persone. Ha anche un piccolo terrazzino privato munito di brace elettrica per ottimi bbq...cosa vuoi di più??

Loved the location amongst pines between Whistler and Blackcomb villages and mountains. Easy, very short walk to lifts. Excellent communication with owners over booking, rental, getting there and facilities information. Clean comfortable apartment on one floor. Would recommend and would stay there again.

This condo was well equipped with everything we needed. The bathrooms and kitchen were well lit, modern and spotless,beds were comfy. The second bedroom is off the living room and has French opaque glass doors which might not suit some. Anik and Jacque were helpful and answered all enquiries promptly. We would return.

My husband, I, our sons aged 9 and 4 years old along with my sister and her husbands stayed for 3 wonderful nights in July. During our 10 day west-coast visit we had stayed in Squamish and Richmond, BC and Seattle, Wa. By far we all felt this was the best place we stayed during our trip based on the condo's location, amenities and value - not to mention the owner anik's helpfulness and flexibility. We fell in love with Whistler area and all the fun summer activities within walking distance or a short drive that appealed to our whole family. We cannot wait for the chance to return during summer or winter! Thanks for the wonderful hospitality.

This condo was perfect for our family. A 5 minute walk to the Whistler Village with all the restaurants, bars, shops and lifts. Also a 5 minute walk to Blackcomb base and lifts. The condo was equipped with all we needed (kitchen, washer and dryer, TV, Stereo, Internet, fireplace...). The condo was very clean and beds were confortable. Great value compared to hôtels. We loved it so much, we already booked for next year.

We enjoyed are stay in this unit. We walked to the gondola with our boots on every morning and on the way back afterward. Going in to town was also a nice walk. I was concerned that it it might be noisy because it is a ground floor unit and was pleasantly surprised that I did not hear anything from upstairs. The bunk beds are a bit tight and my older son found it a bit of a challenge to get in and out of. Overall we really liked the unit and would consider staying here again.

Everything turned out as promised. The suite was nicely appointed, the kitchen was well stocked with appliances and cooking utensils, the unit was clean and very comfortable. Less than 1 minute walk you locate the walking bridge over the nearby creek which leads you directly into the village. The on site owner / property manager did a great job leading up to the trip answering any questions that we had. Great trip - we'll be back.

Stayed here for 2 nights for our thanks giving trip, nothing to complain about really, except wifi wasn't working , but didn't bother to investigate or fix. Simply restarting the router would probably do the job. I'll definitely come back again :)

Nice and close to the village with a 5 minute walk to the Longhorn Saloon. Property was nicely renovated and clean and a good open concept.Great value and easy access. The only negative is it was a little dark...however you are in the mountains!
